This Cheeseburger is so simple to make and is loaded with cheese! @natashaskitchen

These grilled cheeseburgers are plump and juicy and loaded with mozzarella. Making your own burgers using fresh ground beef just feels lighter on your stomach than store-bought (mystery meat) patties.

You can even use organic ground beef which is something that you’ll never get in a pre-made patty. P.S. We found organic beef to be the most reasonably priced at Costco. This cheeseburger recipe is easy to make and won’t disappoint.

This Cheeseburger is so simple to make and is loaded with cheese! @natashaskitchen

Ingredients for the Cheeseburger Patties:

1.3 – 1.5 lbs ground chuck
1 Tbsp McCormick Grill Mates  “Montreal Steak Seasoning”
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 Tbsp A1 Steak Sauce

Cheesy 1-2 pounders Burgers

Burger Toppings & Condiments:

4 buns, Lettuce, tomatoes, sautéed onions & mushrooms, cheese, pickles,  ketchup, mayo….whatever you like!

How to Make 1/2 pounders:

Preheat the grill to medium/high.
1. Combine ground meat with 1 Tbsp steak seasoning, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, 2 Tbsp A1 steak sauce and mix well. Form 4 equal sized disks. Press them down to about 1/3″ thick and create an indentation with your thumb in the center of the patty to keep it from puffing up.

Here’s a tip: If your meat is very cold, you can mix everything in your Kitchen Aid so your hands don’t freeze.

2. For medium-well done burgers, grill about 6 min on each side. Do not press the patties down or the juice will seep out. You can rotate the patties halfway on each side to get a criss-cross pattern. Top with cheese during the last minute. Remove the burgers from heat and let them rest for a few minutes before serving. This way, the juices don’t all drain when you take a bite.

3. I don’t think you need instructions on how to assemble the burger, but Vadim says there is a proper order (i.e. how he built burgers while working at Chilis Restaurant years ago): Bottom bun with dressing, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, burger patty topped with cheese and then the top bun with dressing.

These turned out good but WOW are they spicy!!! My husband loved then but it was too much spice for me, I think next time I’ll only use 1/2 TBSP of McCormick!

Hi Natalya, they are so fun! My husband found the buns in the bakery section at a local grocery store called Rosauers and they were just called cheese buns I believe.

Should we sip some salt and black pepper, when we grill them, or maybe, when we make them, or Montreal steak seasoning have everything in it?

Hi Natalya, that seasoning is very salty already without needing to add more salt or pepper. It has both ingredients in there already 🙂

I was hoping you had a gluten-free recipe for the beautiful buns! 🙂

Well, if not those, do you have any bread recipes for gluten-free breads? Any for low-carb breads? I specifically need to stay more to the low-carb side, darn it! 🙁

    Love your site!

Yes and if it’s just the night before, you can put them on a platter and cover with plastic wrap then stick them into the fridge overnight. They refrigerate really well and I think you’ll have better results refrigerating rather than freezing.

Set it to medium/high. Grilling is so fun. I think you’ll love it! Is it still warm enough to grill where you are at? It’s freezing in Idaho 🙂

Natasha, Is Beef Chuck Steak the one you used. They have a huge variety of “chuck” meat at the store and since I don’t know that much about meat I had a hard time choosing one.. Thanks for your help.

I used meat that was allready ground and it just said ground chuck. If you want to grind your own, beef chuck steak will work fine.

I seen on the Bobby Flay show that if you make an indentation in the middle of the patty prior to grilling, it will keep them from puffing up.
