Happy Easter 2013 (A Holiday Menu and More)!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! It’s one of my favorite holidays (equal to Christmas) because of it’s significance.
It’s commercialized with the bunny and such, but it’s really a Christian holiday; when Jesus rose from the dead. I like how Alan Church; (an evangelist friend of ours) put it on his Facebook page: “Lord, thanks for kicking the devil in the teeth, stripping him of his power to harm me, and giving me authority over him by coming out of that grave! Sorry it was my sin that put you on that cross, but thank you for thinking of me and loving me enough anyway to lay down your life. The sacrifice of my praise seems so small in comparison to your sacrifice, but I’ll sing your praise for eternity!”
Here’s a peak at how we celebrated.
After church we headed to Mom’s house. Easter dinner was delicious. This was on the menu:
2. Savory/ Meat and mushroom filled crepes
8. There was also white rice with a stir-fry of veggies and mushrooms. Oh and there was an easter bread; of course!
Easter Egg Hunt:
After dinner, we scattered loads of plastic eggs stuffed with gobs of candy and let the kiddos search for them
The children then forced their uncle to pull them around in their little red wagon. They flipped over once; that’s where the concerned look comes from.
Then we all sat on a hill in my parents yard and enjoyed each other’s company in the perfect weather and sunshine. It was lovely.
