About
Hi there! My name is Natasha Kravchuk. My handsome husband, Vadim, and I started Natasha’s Kitchen in 2009 and develop recipes and recipe videos full time together.
I come from a family of fantastic cooks and I’m here to share generations of recipes that are homey, fresh, healthy, family-friendly, authentic, and adventurous. Most importantly, our recipes taste great and you can trust that they actually work.
My Family:
My parents came to the US as refugees from Ukraine when I was 4 years old. They brought 5 tiny girls and had nothing but a stack of suitcases. They didn’t know the language, but worked hard and achieved the American dream. Watch the TV News Segment about our incredible story.
Growing up, I used to be so shy I thought no one would marry me until my husband came along and swept me off my feet (true story). I married my wonderful husband Vadim (who is also Ukrainian) over 16 years ago. We are blessed with two children. Every recipe that I develop is thoroughly tested and approved by each of us and is often critiqued by relatives and friends. We only post the recipes we love and make over and over.
We live in Idaho, “Ida-who?” Potatoes, people, potatoes! Our family attends Life Church Boise. We strive to walk in love and live our lives by the word of God and the life of Jesus.
My Background:
We’re so thankful to be full-time foodies and recipe developers. We’re living our dream because of you and I can’t thank you enough! I draw on all of my past experiences which make me the recipe developer, video creator, photographer, writer, and business owner that I am today. We set the bar high so you can expect great recipes and videos here. God has made all of my past experiences working for my good.
The ‘Resume’:
- Starting as a teen, I worked for 7 years as a business intern (my most valuable ‘education’).
- Earned my bachelors degree in Business (long story)
- Worked as a Realtor for 4 years during which I had an early mid-life crisis and cried a lot (let’s just say it wasn’t for me).
- Second Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and worked as an RN in telemetry (shorter story, but still long).
- Blogging since 2009
So, I’m a wife, mom, food blogger, video creator, photographer, writer, influencer, social media boss, entrepreneur, and worship leader. If I were a sandwich, I’d be a chicken bacon avocado on focaccia.
About Natasha’s Kitchen:
I started this food and family blog in 2009 as a way to share favorite recipes and events with family and friends. It has grown much larger than I could have imagined with about 1,200 recipes and about 19 Million hungry visitors per month. In 2023, we passed 3,000,000 subscribers on Youtube and our channel is growing fast.
My goal with Natasha’s Kitchen is for you to really discover and fall in love with cooking and find many new favorite recipes your family will love. The ingredients we use are simple and easily accessible; not overly hoity-toity. My motto: if you can read (a well-written, tested and trusted recipe), you can cook.
This is a personal website and all of the recipes are tested and approved by my family. All of the photography is done by myself and I’m the one showing up in our videos. My husband edits the photos and videos (and he’s the videographer single-handedly running 3 cameras at once).
Much of the recipes I share come from my Mom and Mother-in-law, family, friends, and experience in the kitchen. I am so thankful to have such amazing people in my life who generously share their rich knowledge of cooking.
How I got Started Cooking:
To be completely honest, I wasn’t always excited about cooking. When I got married in 2003, it became a necessity – “must eat to live” and Mom wasn’t doing the cooking anymore. We had a lot of frozen meals and ate out too much in the first year of our marriage. I had a free summer (and decided I would improve my cooking skills so we could live and eat healthier.
I dove into cookbook after cookbook and plundered my mom’s recipe books. I was at the library all the time bringing home piles of cookbooks; I was hooked! I even read my mother’s cooking textbook from her college days (Mom completed her culinary program when we moved to the US). I had discovered the joy of cooking. Within a few months, my husband and I each lost weight just from cooking more at home. Now I can’t stop cooking and thinking about cooking and dreaming about cooking… I was born for this!
My recipe collection continues to grow. I love to try new recipes and will share my favorites with you. I hope you enjoy this blog and find recipes that will become your family favorites as well.

Hi Natasha! My coworkers and I LOVE your recipes – you make cooking look so easy. My daughter cooks dishes only from your website. She also does the drum roll – to start. I was born here in the US, but my parents are from Lviv. Thank you for proudly stating in your bio that you are from Ukraine. You’re the best! So proud of you – fellow Ukrainian! You make us proud!
Hi Halyna! I’m so glad you love my recipes! Thank you for the love and support!
Hi Natasha! I’m a huge fan! There’s a bogus website using your name (spells it Naatasha’s Kitchen) with your logo on Facebook. Lots of your fans are calling this person out in their comments. You probably already know, but just in case! God bless and Merry Christmas!
Hi Gayl! I appreciate you reporting the concern. We’ve seen an increase in fake accounts lately, it’s very frustrating. I would love it if you could also report the account (the more reports, the greater attention it gets from Facebook). We already have reported it and hopefully, Facebook will have the account removed soon! Merry Christmas. Be blessed!
Hi Natasha,
I pinned your Russian tea cake recipe and noticed that your last name is very close to my mother’s maiden name, Kruvczuk, which was Kravchuk before it was changed when my great-grandparents came here from Kiev. I love learning new Ukranian recipes and I especially enjoy yours. Keep up the great work!!!
Woah! That is very similar! Thank you so much for sharing that with me, Jennifer! I’m so glad you’re enjoying my recipes!
Hi Natasha! Love your recipes & love your heart for the Lord! My question is on your cinnamon muffins recipe. Is it OK to make the batter the night before and then the next morning dip the muffin tops in the butter and cinnamon sugar & bake?
Hi Laurie! Thank you, I appreciate the love and support. I have not made the batter ahead and let it rest that long to know how it would affect the texture and rise of the muffins. See my “make-ahead” notes in the blog post for other ideas.
God bless Natasha and her family. Thank you for your amazing recipes 🥰
Thank you so much, Gina! Be blessed!
Thank you for your recipes. It’s always turn out great. It’s an amazing fusion of Russian/Ukrainian and American cuisine. I am from Ukraine and live here in USA more than 15 years. I always struggle what to cook and now I am blessed and can find many delicious recipes here. Thank you
Hi Eugenia, I’m so glad you discovered my blog! I hope you try many more of my recipes soon! 🙂
Hello! Thank you for your many recipes. I enjoy them immensely. Is there a way I can message you privately because I found an issue on another website that some may be using your recipes. He says he’s an admin but it looks suspicious to me. Thanks.
Hi Susan, thank you for that encouraging feedback. Please send a message on our contact form here.
Hi,
Why does my frying eggroll leave a brown sticky gunk ? I use canola oil on a non stick pot. Please let me know what’s the best way to avoid this
thanks
Hi lily, we use canola oil also. Make sure you have the oil preheated and no hotter than 350 degrees.
Hello! I absolutely love your videos and recipes. I was wondering if you have a cookbook with your favorites or most used recipes! Thank you!
Hello Wendy, thank you for your good comments and feedback. We are still working on my cookbook, it will be ready and available in the market by October of next yer. Thanks for asking.
You have a beautiful family. And I love your life story!! I can’t wait to try your Chicken Pot Pot, which is what brought me to your website. I’m so glad I found you!!

Nice, keep up the great work, Frank! Thanks for the suggestion too.
why are there recipes here that aren’t your recipes? Are your endorsing their recipes or have you used their recipes?
Hi Beth, these are my recipes but I have a couple of friends who are bloggers that occasionally guest post their best recipes on our blog. The Author box at the bottom of the post is how you can tell if it is a guest post recipe. Several of her recipes have become reader favorites on our blog and I know her recipes to be really good. Thank you for the feedback and for checking in on that. I hope you are staying safe and healthy.
Hi Natasha, have you ever though of adding the measurements in “Gramms” and “ml” next to the cup measurements? That would be soooo helpful!!! I am not used to cups and always have to “translate” the cups into gramms. I think I am not the only person who would like that. Thank you for all your yummy recipes! From Anita
Hi Anita! I have a tool on my website to help with this. Most of my recipes have this tool, click on “metric” in the recipe card and it will convert the ingredient list for you. Unfortunately, this feature does not convert the instructions, only the ingredient list. I hope that helps. 🙂
Hi Natasha- have you though about adding an option to your website that would allow people to add their favorite dishes to their accounts? Just like on Allrecipes.com? I just thought it would be a nice addition 🙂
*Sorry if this is a duplicate
Hi Natalya, we have that feature now on our website. It’s fairly new but you can try it by clicking the heart button!
I do all the cooking in my home for my wife and I (I’m 75). I probably use your recipes in 85%or more of my lunch and dinner menus. They are excellent. Never a complaint. Thank you a million for your recipes. And waiting for your cookbook.
Thank you, Robert! So glad you love my recipes. We’re excited about the cookbook! 🙂
I made the apple crumb cake and it was very dry. Disappointed
I’m sorry to hear that, Laura! Watch my tutorial here on how to measure your ingredients correctly. Using too much flour could cause this. Also, be sure to not over bake, this could dry it out as well.
I received this in my YouTube mail and wanted to know if this is real or someone pretending to be you for some odd reason. Sorry to bother you, but I really wanted to know. If this is real, am I winning a new car? lol

Hi Natasha, Really enjoy your recipes! Down home goodness. Enjoyed reading your history and knowing you’re a believer. I know you talked about the type of Dutch oven, large pan, you use but didn’t get the brand. Can you please let me know?
Thank you, Sharon
Hi Sharon! Thank you 🙂
If you click “shop” at the top of the page, you can see all my recommended kitchen tools/cookware.
I sure hope you put together a cookbook. I would absolutely buy it!
I am working on my first cookbook, scheduled to release Fall 2023! 🙂
Stroke. Five people (October) are singing Happy Birthday.
Vanilla Cake Recipe and Vanilla Buttercream Frosting Recipe. It is amazing. Thank you.
I’m glad they were amazing! 🙂
Hi Natasha, I am looking for a “buttercreme” mocha/coffee frosting. We are European (German) and cannot find something that is not too difficult.
Many thanks and keep up the great work/recipes. You make them easy to follow.
Regards, Michele
Hi Michele! You could use my chocolate buttercream frosting as a base and add coffee/espresso flavor, or instant coffee to it. You’d have to experiment with it. Let us know how it turns out if you try.
Hi Natasha, can you give Me measurements for a cheesecake that I want to make in a 9 x 13 cake pan? My mother used to make one where she layered the graham cracker crust with pineapple rings and then pour the batter on top but I lost the recipe? Thank you so much I enjoy your recipes
Hi Joni! I do not have a recipe for a 9×13 pan cheesecake to give instructions. This is our favorite cheesecake recipe. if you’re looking for a good one but you’d have to experiment with it if you use a different size pan.
Hi! I really enjoy your recipes and I want to try some of your pies and other baking recipes although I’m gluten intolerant. Have you tried to do your recipes GF? Or do you have an idea how to substitute flour in the different recipes (so it still taste good😀)
Hi Jenny! Feel free to scroll through the comments on my recipes, many of my readers will share their results if they used GF flour. I do not have GF-tested recipes, but I have a category of recipes that do not contain gluten. You can CLICK HERE to view it.
Hi Natasha, Love your recipes. Have you ever used vegetable stock instead of the chicken stock in the sweet potato soup? Would it change the taste?
Thank you keep cooking
Hi Dean, I have not tried that but I think that should be fine. If you do an experiment, please share with us here how it goes.
I’m absolutely blown away by every recipe you post….as women we often run out of ideas for our daily menus….be it breakfast lunch supper or dessert…I’ve made quite a few of your recipes and each one of them is flop proof…your recipes are not only easy to make but they are also packed with flavour….a big great thank you for making life easier in the kitchen…Judy Dalais.South Africa

I too came here wondering about a cookbook because I already cook so many recipes from you site! But I love to be able to take notes in my books especially when I taylor recipes to my picky eaters. Marking my calendar for fall 2023!! 😀
Thanks for your support, Romy. I am already working on the cookbook, it will be ready by the fall of next year.

Hi Natasha,
I tried your beef stroganoff for the first time last week, and guests are coming for dinner, Sunday. Stroganoff is on the menu. It’s delicious. I loved watching the video of you putting it together and wish my work space was as neat and tranquil as yours 😊
Anyway, we live in Boise, Idaho, too, having moved from Perth, Western Australia, 7 years ago.
Thank you for sharing your recipes, and God bless.
Alison
Hi Alison! That’s wonderful. Thank you for sharing, I’m so glad you enjoy my recipes. God bless.
My 10 year old son and I discovered your website/blog/videos back when he was doing distance learning from home during the covid shutdown of schools. He absolutely LOVED your videos and that led to him basically teaching himself to cook (I was there to make sure he didn’t burn himself or cut off a finger with a chefs knife etc. ) but he wanted to do it on his own and follow your videos. He is now 12 and honestly a pretty great little cook all thanks to one of your videos on YouTube catching his eye and the next thing I know he is showing me all sorts of your recipes and making them for the entire family. Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart, for helping make those awful covid lockdown days a whole lot brighter for a 10 year old boy and his tired mamma! Much love to you and your family.
That’s awesome. Thank you for sharing that with me. I’m so glad he found my videos and recipes helpful.
Hi Natasha, my name is Cathy and I live in Ontario Canada. This is the second time I have made your Classic apple crisp. It was a hit the first time. It makes a good amount to feed a family of four with leftovers for school lunches. I have used many of your recipes. Great compliments and request for more. Thanks for your recipes that use basic ingredients that are easy to find. Really love the video’s that are also easy to follow. Thanks again.
Thank you for that wonderful feedback. Apple crisp is on our family menu for tonight!
I was wondering if you have done mini pecan pie and or mini apple pies?
Hi Yolanda, we have mini pumpkin pies HERE. I hope you love these
Natasha
Just love your recipes 😀
When are you publishing your first cookery book ?
Thank you, Rosaleen! My first cookbook will be released in Fall of 2023! 🙂
I love your recipes. I have a question about “New: Save Your Recipes in One Place.” I accidentally saved a recipe of something that I don’t eat. I can’t find how I can delete it from the “New: Save Your Recipes in One Place?”
Hi Linda, great to hear that! You can click the magnifying glass below the heart icon and then click the heart icon so you can unselect and remove from your list. Hope that helps!
Loved your BBQ sauce…easy and delicious!
I was wondering…
do you have a teriyaki sauce recipe?
Hi Kelly! I do not, but you can reference the ingredients list for the sauce in my chicken and broccoli recipe HERE, if you are looking for a great stir fry sauce.
I truly love this recipe and I’ve shared it with friends over and over again. In an electric oven, it comes out perfectly, soft on the inside, slightly brown and crinkly on top, with a crunchy exterior. With a gas oven however I don’t get all of that even though it’s fully baked. I’m at my wit’s end on how to bake it to get my desired effect. Please help 😭. Jan
Hi Jan, could you leave your question and comment at the bottom of the actual recipe? You accidentally left this comment on the About page of our website. Thank you!
Thank you to the entire family!
I accidentally stumbled across your video on “Smash Burgers” and immediately smiled ear to ear thanks to the happy and positive vibe the short video gave off. I then continued to read about the family story and how wonderful! I wish your family every happiness and am an instant fan! Keep up the great work and thank you so much for sharing all the lovely recipes! God bless you and thank you!
Thank you, Dino! I’m happy you found my website. I appreciate the support. Be blessed!
Hey Natasha! I love your recipes and have not had a bad one yet! Just out of curiosity, do you have a cookbook?
Hi Kelly! Thank you! So glad you’re enjoying my recipe. In fall 2023 I will be releasing my first cookbook! Stay tuned. 🙂
thank you natasha for your recipes, since I discovered your blog I love it. I have made some of your recipes, but the apple pie has been a success with my family and friends, it is the best apple pie I have ever tasted and I have made many other recipes.
Now I will try your cheese cake, it looks spectacular like everything you do. I love your charisma and your joy in each of your videos. I can not thank you more for what you share with all of us .

I am so happy to hear that. Thank you for that encouraging feedback.
I can’t seem to get the nutrition information to print when I print a recipe even when the box is checked ‘nutrition’. Not sure if I am doing something wrong. I tried a couple different browsers with no success.
Hi Linda, we don’t have the option to print the nutrition facts currently and since we can’t make it optional, we decided to keep it off. Sorry for the inconvenience and I will see if this is an option with future updates. Thank you for asking!
Linda,
You can use the Snipping Tool to snip it and paste it to your word doc. That’s what I did.
hi its Audrey again can i put coffe in the red velvet recipe you make.
Hi Audrey, I havne’t tried adding it to Red Velvet myself to advise. If you experiment, let me know how you liked the recipe.
The beef stroganoff!
Is off the hook. I making it the second time. My wife ask me why I cooking it this was .bi said I’m following the recipe.
Everyone loved it.
That’s just awesome! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review, Kile!
Hi Natasha,
I am an amateur cook with an interest in historical or “native” recipes. I collect old cookbooks and recipes from the earlier generations (before they are all lost) I really appreciate you recipes from the “old country.” If you have more please keep posting and thank you for what you are doing.
Hi Phillip! Thank you. I’m happy you are enjoying them. I’m also working on my first cookbook which will be released in Fall 2023! 🙂
Hello there,
I want to take a moment to say a big thank you for the recipes. You are saving my life these days. I have made banana bread, meatloaf, baked salmon with garlic & dijon, chicken pot pie, and lemon chicken pasta. Your recipes are simple and easy but super delicious!
My family keeps asking me what I will cook for dinner.
Thank you so much, Natasha!
I usually won’t leave reviews, but your recipes make me do this. lol
Aww, thank you KC! That is so nice. I’m happy you love my recipes.
Hi, Natasha!
I want to thank you for your vanilla cupcake and cream cheese frosting recipes, which I made for our daughter’s first birthday. Whenever I made cupcakes (or cakes in general) in the past, they never came out right so for our older children, my mom-in-law normally makes the cakes. But this year she was in the hospital (and is back home now recovering, thank God!), and the job fell on my very nervous shoulders. I found your recipes on youtube, and they turned out great! Your positive attitude and love for cooking have been a lifesaver and an inspiration. Thank you and your family for all that you do!
Thank you, Sarah! So glad they were great.
Reading your ‘glimpse of Your life’ is so encouraging… thank you for sharing You and Your Famiky with Us
Bless You
-Lo
Thank you, Lo! Blessings to you!
I recently made your peach crisp with fresh peaches from my tree. Also made the peach salsa. Both recipes were wonderful, thank you!
That’s great, Sara. I’m happy you enjoyed them.
Im recently retired and needed something to occupy my time. I found your blog and LOVE your recipes. I live in Colorado and have access to Palisades peaches. (If you haven’t experienced these peaches, OMG) I made your deep-dish peach pie last night and it is absolutely fabulous. I greatly appreciate your recipe collection and it is my first choice when looking to expand my culinary repertoire. Thank you.
That sounds wonderful! I’m so glad you came across my blog. Thank you for the feedback and I hope you find many more recipes to enjoy.
Hi, I’ve been getting your recipes for a long time and watching you for a while, I just today took the time to read your blog, it’s nice to read your story. God bless you and your family. Thanks for the blog, I love to cook as well.
Warmest Regards,
Julia
Thank you for that wonderful compliment, Julia! I’m so happy you’re enjoying my blog and recipes! Blessings to you!
Hi there, i made your apple crumble and it was so yum. I cant find it on your site. Any chance you could let me know what was in it.?
Hi Vicky, are you referring to my Classic Apple Crisp recipe?
I love your recipes, and recently I got adventurous and tried to make my daughter’s first birthday cake shaped like a cup cake, but sugar free and baby safe, I did a banana cake thing with a yogurt frosting. I was thinking that I would have loved to see infant safe baby cake for a 1st birthday from you. All of your food tastes amazing, and although my husband told me my cake was okay, I am sure he was just being loving. 🙂
Just a suggestion.
P.s My Daughter’s name is also Natasha.
Love it! Thank you for sharing that with us, it helps inspire me to do more recipes and videos for you all!
What are the 5 most essential kitchen items, whether it be utensils, appliances or food(spices, etc.)? I was ked to give a devotional at a bridal shower for which the theme is “Stock her Kitchen”. And have you thought of relating any kitchen items to God’s word. For instance, a recipe book could be compared to following the instructions in the Bible. Thank you for your consideration.
HI Penny, I haven’t considered that but that is a sweet thought. Check out our Amazon affiliate shop where we share all of our favorite kitchen tools. I hope that helps!
Hi Natasha! I’m such a huge fan love your easy family recipes and videos! I live in southern Idaho coming back home after serving in the military it’s pretty awesome to see all the improvements. Great state to live in but I do miss international food from my travels.
Hi, Kasey! Thank you. I’m glad you enjoy my recipes and videos. 🙂
Hi Natasha Love your videos I almost made all of them and but the ones iv made the most are Chicken pasta with the lemon parsley sauce and Homade pizza dough tooo
I’m so glad you’re enjoying my videos and recipe, Ani! Thank you for your feedback!
Natasha, I love your recipes, but my 3 ring binder is filling up fast! I thought you have a recipe book coming out? Or am I mistaken.? I am having trouble keeping up and experimenting all the wonderful recipes you provide for us novices. By the way, beautiful pics of your family. You all are very blessed. Thank you for being such a light in our world when we need it most. I am only 82 yrs. young, but still enjoy eating good food that doesn’t taste like restaurant food.
Hi Jim, thank you for the encouraging message! Our cookbook is scheduled to come out in Fall of 2023 and we are very excited about it.
Hi Natasha. I’ve been watching your videos for 3 years now. I baked your famous strawberry cheesecake for Christmas 2020. The whole family loved it. All the credit goes to you!
Thanks,
Mira
By the way, can we use a different type of pasta, such as linguine instead of fettuccine?
Hi Mira, can you leave this comment in the recipe as it is in the about page, I’m not sure what recipe you are referring to. Thank you!
That’s great feedback, Mira! Thanks a lot for sharing that with us.
Dear Natasha
I love your recipes. Perhaps you have a recipe for chicken tenderloins and mushrooms and I haven’t found it. Please tell me what to do and how do make it.
Thank you. Dianne
Hi Dianne! You can look through my recipe category list or search for any recipe using the search bar at the top of the page. You may enjoy this creamy chicken and mushroom recipe. 🙂

Hi Natasha, I and my daughter Davida (all the way from Uganda in East Africa) love cooking and baking. We keep trying new recipes from you, for anything. Ever since my daughter discovered your page, we have never regretted! We have baked REdvelvet, chocolate, carrot cake and different foods. Thank you for lighting our cooking and baking path.
Hi Angela! I’m so happy to help. Thank you for sharing that with me.
Hello! I want to say thank you for sharing your recipes. I have been using your recipes since the start of the pandemic, when I have more time in the kitchen.
I recently had a mini reunion with the high school friends whom I have not seen for almost a decade. They were all surprised that I can cook and tastes really good. I used your Shrimp Boil, Bruschetta and zucchini potato bake recipes.
It was a memorable day for me and my friends and my heart is really happy that I got the chance to cook for them.
When my family requests for something new for dinner, your website is my default go-to page.
Thank you again for sharing your talent. God bless you more!!!
Thanks for sharing that with us and awesome work! I hope your family and friends will love all of the recipes that you will try.
