NatashasKitchen & The Compassion Project

I want to start off by saying how much I appreciate each and every one of you who visit this blog because you are the ones who’ve made this possible. Thanks to your support, NatashasKitchen is sponsoring a child through Compassion International; a Christian organization that helps children in poverty. I’m so excited to be able to do this together with all of you.

Thank You!
You may have noticed and even purchased something through our “Shop” Tab or Amazon link on the homepage. We’ve partnered with Amazon and receive a small % back from every purchase you make through the shop. (P.S. Amazon has no relationship with Compassion International, we just decided to apply income from Amazon toward sponsoring a child). The “Shop” has consistently made enough to sponsor a child and that’s the Compassion project in a nutshell. We’re moving forward with it.

Meet the little boy we sponsored: He’s a 5-year old from Africa. It was incredibly difficult to choose which child to sponsor; heartbreaking really… such sad eyes 🙁 We tried to select the one that has been waiting the longest, but there are so many that have waited more than 280 days. Thanks to you, he will be provided with food, clean water, educational opportunities, important life-skills training and most importantly; he will hear about Jesus.

I want you to know that you are amazing and you make it happen!! Together we are making a difference in the life of a child. How awesome is that? God bless each of you. Click on the photo below if you want to learn more about this organization or are moved to become a sponsor yourself.

Natasha, I’m in love with your blog and I’m so happy to see that you have taken on such an extraordinary project! When I was in elementary school, my family sponsored a little girl from India through the same organization. Since she was the same age as me, my parents pushed me to write to her and become friends. I’m glad they did that! We sent letters to each other for years while we were growing up!! I’ve benefited so much from doing this and it changed my life. I’m glad that you have started this and I hope you continue to spread the word about the organization. I can’t wait to hear more about him. Reply

Natasha, me and my husband sponsored a child through this organization as well. It was so difficult to chose a child because there are so many! We finally picked one child that warmed our heart by reading about her family and their struggles. We loved getting letters from her, it felt like she truly was ours 🙂 and just this last month, we got a final letter from her saying she is out of school and has to depart from this program. It felt so good to know that we helped make a change in somebody’s life. Reply

Yay Natasha!!! what a wonderful idea and opportunity. I have been sponsoring a little girl for 3 years now from the Philippines and I love knowing that it makes a difference in her life. Often times we get so wrapped up in our own events that we forget that there are others who don’t even have half of what we do. I am so thankful to God that we have the ability to sponsor others and share our blessings. I know sometimes this seems like such a small thing but honestly it makes a huge difference to those children. I get letters and pictures from my little girl every so often and they just make my day. (when she was too young to write her grandmother-who is her primary guardian used to write), and I love being able to share my life, as well as God with them. Super happy for you, can’t wait to see more postings about it. Reply

    Natasha,
First, I wanted to thank you for such a wonderful food blog! Your recipes are amazing and the work you’ve put into this site it highly appreciated. I really like the way you describe every step with pictures!
Also, I wanted to say that my husband and I have been supporting children through Campassion for over 8 years; we also introduced our brother to Compassion and his family began sponsoring children as well, and he actually was able to visit one of their sponsored children on his missionary trip to Haiti a few years ago. Compassion really makes a difference in the lives of children, and I’m glad you’ve found it and are able to promote it! Reply

Wow Natasha how awesome is that? God is do good, all the time! Funny you post this because this past weekend I was at a Beth Moore conference and we decided to finally sponsor a child through compassion also. She will be 4 years old in 2 days, a little girl who is only 5 days younger than my little girl. We have began praying for her abd every night my little Leah prays for her new friend Dorkas. This post was just so relevant and encouraging. Be blessed 😉 Reply

That’s just amazing that you and your little girl are praying for her and making her a part of your lives through prayer. I was just thinking about that last night before bed; how can I include my son in all this. What a great idea! Thank you!! Reply
