Vacation in McCall, ID

We’ve only driven through McCall, ID a few times but never stopped for longer than it takes to eat a burger. My hubby, son, and I stayed in McCall 3 nights and loved it. Fun, sun, biking, fishing, boating and a large condo on the beach (which was thanks to a friend of a friend).

This saved us a bundle and the whole trip was about $250; food, gas, lodging and all. We are so thankful to God for giving us this opportunity to rest and and enjoy each other’s company. Hope these snaps brighten your day.

We did plenty of “enjoying the day;” the weather was perfect; mid 80’s. Ahhh. I loved sitting on the dock and sipping my coffee; bed head and all.

This was our beachfront condo (huge thank you to Vadim’s friends!!)

A pretty stop on our biking trail:

I couldn’t stop him:

A man riding a bicycle next to a body of water

We borrowed my parents boat.
Ha ha, I couldn’t resist. I’m pretty sure this was a failed attempt to cast the line but at least I put forth lots of effort.

Our 3-yr old got a fishing pole for his b-day. He gets so excited when he catches a fish and shouts “I got something, I got something!”

I also learned to start and drive the boat:

Our favorite spot to eat was a popular little restaurant called “My Father’s Place.” Burgers were awesome and our son really enjoyed them too (if you’re a parent, you’ll know that’s very important).

We also had a favorite ice cream spot: “Ice Cream Alley,” where 1 scoop is enormous and even the “kid” size is huge. We went there twice.

It really was hidden in an alley.

This boy loved his ice cream.

It wasn’t really hot enough to swim, but that didn’t stop these two from getting wet.

Our last day, we toured the lake and looked at some fancy lakefront properties. These were our favorites. Aren’t they dreamy?

My husband fixed breakfast every morning. He got so creative!

A plate of two waffles and bananas arranged into a smile and a cup of coffee

Oh and we grilled some nice dry rubbed steak with zucchini.

Our last night; we lit the fireplace. A real fireplace; ah bliss.

A fireplace

It was perfect.

What a beautiful spot! Your photos are wonderful. And how is it possible that you look that cute after being on a boat?? I always look like I’ve been through a sweaty wind tunnel! Ha! Glad y’all had a great trip!

The reason I look “that cute” 😀 is because we just took of the shore on a low speed, best time for taking pictures 🙂 After high speeds, I generally look like I got pummeled in the face with a giant snowball lol. 🙂 your comment made me laugh when I woke up this evening after a night shift. Thank you! 🙂

Had to look up where McCall was on the map since Id is our neighbor state. About 5 hr drive from our house. Pictures look awesome; caught myself looking for the “like” button many times and had to laugh at myself. Beautiful family! God bless!

I live in NJ…but comute to NYC on a regular basis. I did travel the States a lot, just never made it to Idaho! The entire North West is missing from my “been to” list, for that matter! The closest I came was Nevada and Utah 🙂

I met lots of people that moved to Idaho from East Coast and never looked back. I haven’t been to NE, but would love to visit 🙂

Thank you. And yes we did make some nice memories. This was our first vacation where it was just the three of us instead of a group and it was so so nice to spend so much quality time together. Life is so busy that this opportunity is rare 🙂
