Basil Pesto Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves packed
  • 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup olive oil extra virgin is best
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts or walnuts
  • 1 large or 2 small garlic cloves
  • 1/8 cup lemon juice or juice of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the basil leaves.
  2. Place basil into a food processor, add cheese, nuts, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.
  3. Process until smooth.
