Hi Natasha, I am a newbie on your website & I have to say that you are, by far, my most favorite cooking personality. Didn’t understand why I was so drawn in until I read your Home Page Content. I am of Ukrainian/Dutch German decent. I lean more towards the Ukraine side, but not ruling out the German side. I was also so grateful to God for you being a Born Again Christian! I think He shines through you & your husband. Thank you for being bold in sharing it. I found your website while looking for a sponge cake recipe with very little time to make it for strawberry shortcake. Your 4 ingredient sponge cake was perfect. Even my daughter who does not like sponge cake, liked it! I did, however, not remember to turn my oven down 25ยฐ less while using dark, nonstick pans. But even the crunchy sides were tasty, lol. Your receipes look easy to follow & your videos help even more besides making it fun & entertaining. I look forward to trying many more of your recipes. During this time of events, I pray safety for you & your family, as well as the world. I find your videos to be uplifting & strangely enough, encouraging. God Bless. Reply

First, I get stuck on Facebook video for WAY too long when it feeds me your videos seemingly for hours on end. That being said, if they weren’t so entertaining and educational, I’d find a way of closing down the app much more quickly.

While watching several of your videos, you comment on using heavy-bottomed pans, dutch ovens, and steel skillets. While you mention briefly about some items holding heat, I am super curious to find out why you choose to use each of your pots and pans. I’d love to see a how-to video (or two or three, honestly) on the various cookware options. Take a great example like chicken breast – how is it different in non-stick skillet versus a braiser? Why do you choose which cookware you use for a particular dish?

I’m also terribly interested in why to use wood or silicone or other materials for the spatulas and spoons and cooking utensils. I would love to know if it changes the taste or makes it easier to cook or clean? Reply

it’s a delicious sweet and sour recipe. The only difference for me is adding half the sweet and sour mixture right in with the meatloaf then 10 minutes before I’m ready to take it out I brush on the rest the sweet and sour. Because I like the taste of sweet and sour all the way through. In order to do this you have to add 1/2 to full cup more bread crumbs. Incredibles taste all the way through Reply

Hi Natasha, Iโ€™ve just been looking at your genoise sponge recipe. Can you tell me if the Genoise sponge base is strong enough to hold a covering of fondant. Iโ€™m just looking for alternative sponges for celebratory decorative cakes which will be strong enough to withstand the weight of fondant on them other than Madeira.

    Many thanks

Hi Damaris, I havenโ€™t tried coconut flour so It is difficult to guess, I also searched the comments and no one has mentioned trying it so I canโ€™t say for sure. I havenโ€™t experimented with any other sweeteners either but I definitely think it is worth testing! It’s so difficult to say since baking is so much a science that needs experimentation. First of all, thank you for your site and for the great recipes! I’m a big fan. I have a question for you. Do you pack school lunches for your kids? If so, what are yours and your kids’ favorite lunches to pack? The reason I’m asking is that every day I have to pack a school lunch for a 5-year old who is a very picky eater and I constantly rack my brains trying to come up with foods she will like.

It’s kind of hit and miss as to what my son will eat. I pack him lunches most days and it’s usually a sandwich or a tortilla wrap with cream cheese, shredded lettuce, sandwich meat, cheese, sometimes tomato; rolled and then cut into pin-wheels. I also pack him things like string cheese, dried fruits (he loves prunes, figs and dried apricots), sugar snap peas or baby carrots and I bought tiny condiment holders for ranch from Fred Meyer. I hope that’s helpful :). You might check out weelicious.com for more kids lunch ideas; that is her specialty ๐Ÿ™‚ Reply
