Chicken Bacon Avocado Sandwich

This sandwich was inspired by Kneader’s Bakery turkey bacon avocado sandwich. We subbed the turkey for rotisserie chicken so it was super easy. The only thing we cooked was bacon.
I took a tiny packet of their special sauce home with me and tested several versions before coming up with this Mustard Mayo. I thought it was just as good as their special sauce. It has just 3 simple ingredients that you probably have in your fridge. You’ll want it on all your sandwiches!
Keep this one in mind when you have company over and want to impress them but don’t have a ton of time to cook :).
P.S. If you can’t find focaccia, you should use Homemade Focaccia or use your favorite artisan bread – you’ll love it just as much :). PPS. You can make the sauce in advance and enjoy delicious sandwiches all week long.

Notes
This is a sandwich you’ll make again and again. I’ll remind you of this sandwich for using up leftover turkey after Thanksgiving ;).
I accidentally come across this little gem whilst looking for other sandwich recipes. I make my partners crib & my daughters lunch for them both they have been complaining how they were so over boring sandwiches. I used leftover bbq chicken from the night before…this sandwich was a big hit with both of them! I luvd the fact it was so easy to make
Hi Sam! That’s wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
Haven’t made this YET!! But I have to say, love watching your videos and LOVE your recipes. Waiting for your cookbook AND we gotta get you on TV!!!! Best of everything to you and your family
Thank you for that wonderful compliment, Alison! I’m so happy you’re enjoying my recipes!
Natasha,
Thank you both for the time & effort to professionally post these great recipes! I finally tried the chicken bacon avocado BLT sandwich. Used a multigrain bread instead & added cayenne to the sauce. Wow! So good! Makes for a great lunch. And my 2 cats loved it too! Looking forward to trying more recipes.
That’s wonderful! Thank you, Sallie. I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe.
As a chef I was very skeptical about the sauce but oh my God it is so good perfect for a cold sandwich.
So good! Thank you for your great review, Scott!
This was good! I made a whole roaster this weekend so have pulled several of your recipes to use the leftovers. Tonight one of the Mexican dishes.
I bet this is so good in a roaster! Thank you so much for sharing that with us.
I love to watch you cook so easy and simple. I have made lot of your recipes, like Hamburger soup , BRUSSELS Sprouts and so on. I just love you because you are so friendly to the viewers.
Thank you for that wonderful compliment, Charlene!
I recently made this sandwich for our outdoor summer concert group.
I used deli sliced chicken instead of the rotisserie chicken and muffaletta bread (ordered from a local Italian bakery) but otherwise adhered to the recipe.
Our friends raved about it!
Hi Lou, great to hear that the recipe was a huge hit! Thanks for your review.
Do you have a cookbook out?
Hi Janet, not yet, but I did sign with an agent, and we are working on it!
This sandwich sounds amazing!! Do you have a recipe for focaccia bread? It’s my favorite bread but I don’t know how to make it, a step by step video would be nice. 😉
Hi Cecilia, I don’t have a recipe for that yet but thanks for the suggestion.
Hi Natasha, I firstly want to thank you for your amazing recipes and the way you present it! Really love it. I made your Vanilla Cup Cakes yesterday. They were delicious. I agree with you – I will never want to make another cup cake recipe but yours. Regards, Sandra from South Africa
Yay that is awesome. Thank you for your excellent feedback!
Oh my was this sandwich delicious!!! We used a ciabatta bread purchased from Kneaders (it was hard to chew but delicious however I will buy focaccia next time).
The whole family loved it! Thanks
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with us!
Natasha,
Great sandwich!!!, do you know about how many calories/fat grams are in the sandwich?
Bill
Hi Bill, Hi, we are slowly working through all of our recipes to add nutrition info but it is a time-consuming process as they have to be added one at a time. Thank you for being patient!
Hi good night what recipes can you recommend in making for diabetic person?
Hi Parbathe, there are so many, but we don’t currently have a category for diabetic specific recipes. I would suggest starting it with any of our salads – particularly the ones that have avocado. The Chicken Avocado Salad is an all-time favorite and you could sub corn for cucumber to reduce the carb count in that one. Beyond that, with hundreds of recipes published, the best I could suggest would be to search our recipe index.
Made these today for us and my friend and her husband (her birthday). They were wonderful. Even better than we expected. Used a seeded artisan bread from a great market and every one raved. The sauce too was unbelievably delicious. (sorry no pic). We decided we will definitely share these again. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would.
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with us, Holly!
What would you serve as a side salad for a ladies lunch. THANKS!Lori
Hi Lori, there are so many options, I’m not sure where to start. It depends on if you are looking for finger foods, then you might visit our appetizers page (Deviled eggs and bacon would be yummy!) and check out our sides category for side dish recipes. You can browse our full recipe index here.
I’m going to make these this weekend for a family get-together, and I plan on making apple salad to go with them. It is apples, Craisins & celery with a mayo/Cool Whip dressing. My family loves it.
I hope you love that, please let us know how it turns out!
hello dear, that sauce is a killer, makes the sandwich very yummy, everybody loved it, thx
That’s so great! Thank you for that awesome review!
I love your recipes Natasha. They’re Yummy!
You’re so nice! Thank you Annah!
This sandwich looked delicious so I made it for my party – but made it slider size. Not only does this sandwich look delicious – it tastes delicious as well – it was a big hit at my party !
That’s so creative, Donna! Thank you for sharing that with us!
I made this sandwich for dinner tonight, for me and my husband. Really fantastic, and loved the sauce! My husband wanted maple bacon, and it was delicious! I wouldn’t change a thing, but he said he’d prefer ciabatta bread next time.
Hi Sherry, thank you for sharing such a great review, I’m glad you like the recipe 😀
You were right! That sauce is crazy amazing, like really really good! I’ll be putting that on all my sandwiches.
Hi Deen! I’m so happy you loved it! Thank you for the amazing review 🙂
This sandwich is so so so good. My husband and I loved it!!! Natasha, thank you so much for your amazing recipes everything I’ve tried making taste amazing.
You’re welcome Yana! I’m glad to hear you both enjoy the recipe! Thanks for following and sharing your wonderful review! 🙂
As a previously Kneaders employee, I’m actually really impressed by how close your recipe is to what they actually make in the store. I love doing this at home and I can’t wait until thanksgiving so I can do it with real turkey!
Yeeesss! That is quite a compliment, thank you very much 😁.
Dear Natasha, I made up several of your recent recipes for a dinner party this week in Australia. I modified the Raspberry Pretzel Jello into a beautiful Strawberry mousse dessert, and will send you the recipe I made. I enjoyed making your mini toasts and filled eggs, beautiful also. I made the Butterfly pasta dish with avocado, Yum. I served with chicken and veg pies and a potato bake. It was delicious success. I also did the salad plate from Olga B. It was Oh, so beautiful and delicious. I was thrilled to bits. Thankyou.
Wow you are on a roll!!! Thank you so much for sharing your awesome reviews! 🙂
The photos of this sandwich are fantastic! Pinned. Can’t wait to make this sandwich. Absolutely love the sauce!!!! Pinned. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Mary, thanks so much! This one is definitely a keeper 🙂 I hope you love it!
Hi Natasha. Can I make this sandwich ahead? Will avocado still taste good?? Thanks! PS I was hoping to take these to a picnic or a lake/ocean
How far ahead? The avocado will taste fine, but it will brown if you make it too far in advance. Also, if making the sandwich in advance, as with any sandwich, I would recommend adding the sauce before serving. This way your bread will not get soggy.
Yes, this was my question too. I was thinking about making this sandwich for my kids to school. So I’ll make it around 6:30 am and they are going to eat it around 11 am. Do you think it would be ok? Or should I go with smth else? Thank you.
Hi, Sandwhiches which have meat in them or dairy (cheese), should be kept chilled. I would definitely recommend using an ice pack to keep the sandwich cool and fresh.
Looks so yummy! I can’t wait to try this tomorrow night for my husband and another couple! Will definitely take this to school for lunch when we go back very soon. All of you photos look great!
Thank you Karen 🙂 I hope you all absolutely love it! 🙂
Oh my Natasha! It looks really good! It’s such a great idea that you used rotisserie chicken to subbed the turkey. I’m really in love with your recipes. The sandwich looks deliciously healthy and the ingredients especially the veggies look so fresh. Yummy!
Thanks Maureen :). It was so easy and there wasn’t much difference in flavor compared to their slow roasted turkey (maybe because turkey tends to be dryer and tougher?). Anyways, I hope you love this sandwich. It’s officially my favorite 🙂
do you think this will taste good a few hours after made? Like to eat at work?
I think it would taste great even a few hours later if it’s refrigerated. For best results, I would recommend packaging the dressing separately so it doesn’t get absorbed by the bread. You can buy tiny containers with lids at most grocery stores. I use them for my sons lunch.
YUM! Sandwiches truly are comfort food. I’m going to try this on a whole-grain bread…I know it won’t be exactly the same, but sometimes compromise is necessary…
It will still be amazing. Let me know how much you loved it 🙂
This sandwich looks so delicious! I make a similar looking sandwich with leftover grilled chicken 🙂 The bacon and avocado is the best part, especially with a garden fresh tomato!
mmmm leftover grilled chicken would be yummy too with that little extra smokiness. Yum! I agree about the garden fresh tomato and I can’t wait for them t ripen in my Mom’s yard 🙂
Be still my heart this looks DELICIOUS!
Thank you so much Trisha :), that just means I did this sandwich justice with the photos. It’s surprisingly hard to photograph a sandwich 🙂
This sandwich looks amazing! Must try this! Bacon makes everything perfect anyways 😉
I completely agree and thank you so much Shelby 🙂
Hi where do u buy focaccia bread?
I bought it directly from Kneaders bakery because I think they make it best :). You can use any good quality soft bread, like the artisan loaves from Costco for example. It will still be amazing!
OK sounds gd thank you
This sandwich looks so appetizing! I’m definitely making it next week! I also tried making my own focaccia bread before and it turned out great! I used Chef John’s receipt (youtube “Food Wishes”) and highly recommend you trying as well if you haven’t already! Maybe even post your own version to go along with the sandwich!
Thanks!
Olga
That is an awesome tip! Thank you so much for sharing it! I’ve tried making one using a different recipe and it was a total flop. This is so helpful. You’re the best! 🙂
Keep posting sandwich recipes!
I’m so glad you’re enjoying the sandwiches :). Thanks Olga 🙂
Hi Natasha, sorry for the silly question but do you buy chicken that’s already cooked or do you roast it at home?
Svetlana, I buy roasted chicken, either at Costco or Fred Meyer. You can roast a chicken at home, just takes more time :).
We totally use the rotisserie chickens around here! So easy. Going to show this to wife to make for my lunch since she packs my lunch every day for me. I better get that bacon on!!!
I also love how easy it is! And yes, don’t skip the bacon 😉 Tom, I hope you love it!
