Sveta’s Beautiful Baby Shower

My youngest sister, Sveta, is having a baby girl and her baby shower was last weekend. Sveta is a genuine, kind-hearted person. It’s interesting that during pregnancy, she is even nicer. What? I thought pregnant women usually have a short fuse? Nope! Not Sveta! Shes all-the-merrier. She’s a gem of a friend (i consider her my friend).

Those of you who are blessed to have her as such (and as your hair stylist) know that she is a good listener and always has some wisdom to pass along. Sveta, I am blessed to have you as my younger sister.

I have to say this was the most elegant and beautiful shower I’ve ever had the privilege to attend. If you didn’t know, there are five girls in our family and she is the last of the five sisters to have a baby (the youngest are always the most spoiled right?).

My sister Alla was the brains and creativity behind this operation and we were doing her bidding. She definitely outdid herself (as usual) sewing what seemed like miles of bunting and all kinds of other pretty’s.

Sveta, what made the party great was knowing you had fun. Here’s a peak at the decor, radiant mama and some of the guests (don’t worry, I omitted pictures where people looked extremely hungry or unusually awkward).

Thankfully this was only a doll. Poor doll. But they did manage to get her diapered and dressed with one hand each; yep, you’re ready for parenting!A man and woman holding a baby dollNatasha hugging her husband and smiling

Sveta, I can’t wait to meet your little princess! God bless you in the rest of your pregnancy and delivery!

That’s ok, just use cake flour 🙂 I hope you love them! Canadian flour is cheaper than cake flour, but both work very well.

Beautiful Baby Shower……everything looks gorgeous. Lots of good wishes to your sister.
I see you had that Napoleon Cake on the table…..I still have to find time to make one. When I was growing up anytime there was a function that cake would appear. Thanks for sharing your photo’s.

Fewwww, I’m glad you thought it was funny too (since I didn’t run it by you first), but I redeemed the moment with the next picture down. 🙂 Alla, you did a great job! Thanks for hounding me even when I grumbled about all the punching and cutting. It turned out amazing!

That would be tough. My sister was clear across the country for a couple years and you definitely feel like something is missing. We’re glad to have her home in Idaho again.
