Radishes Are Nutritious
Did you know radishes are nutritious? They are rich in Vitamin C, Folic Acid and Potassium. See the estimated nutrition label in the recipe card below.
Ingredients for Cucumber Radish Salad:
There are literally 3 ingredients in this radish salad and 2 ingredients in the dressing (including salt!) I know what you’re thinking; WOAH – that can’t be all?! My Mother has been making this recipe since I was a child and sometimes a classic recipe doesn’t need any improvement.
Cook’s Tip: Stir the sour cream dressing into the salad just before serving. The longer it sits, the more liquid the dressing becomes as the salt causes the cucumber to release some juice. But I guarantee you’ll use a spoon to gather any extra juice left behind. It’s so yummy!

Radishes also have a very satisfying crunch; Mmm! I love that this simple sour cream dressing neutralizes the radishes slight pungent flavor and enhances their sweetness. I was impressed when my 4 year old ate and enjoyed this radish and cucumber salad.

Q: Do you love radishes? What is YOUR favorite way to eat them? I’d love to hear from you in a comment below. Have an amazing weekend, my friends!
Loads of Love (and radishes),
-Natasha and the fam 🙂
I love radishes. When I was little my grandparents had a huge garden and for lunch grandma would make radish sandwiches. Delish!
That’s so great! We love radishes! Thank you so much for sharing that with me.
Just tried this salad for the first time tonight. I used fresh chives from the garden and my hubby raved about the salad. Will make this one again as it is so refreshing on a hot day like today!
Love it! Thanks for your wonderful and great feedback, Carol. I’m so glad you loved the salad.
Will try this. Is similar to a sour cream dill weed dressing we make. Is here a reason you always seem to use English cucumbers as opposed to just cucumbers?
Hi Kim, it depends on when the recipe was developed. When I have garden cucumbers, I use those. English cucumbers are easier to use versus the less expensive wax-coated cucumbers because you have to peel the wax-coated ones and I do like to leave good cucumbers skins on so I opt for English cucumbers which are available year-round. In any recipe, you can substitute with regular cucumbers though.
I added half a sliced onion, dill and mint, salt pepper, and a pinch of sugar…it was devoured!!!!
That is awesome! Thank you so much for sharing your great feedback with us.
Do you peel the cucumbers or do you leave a Pilling on
Hi Nancy, we left it on. You are welcome to peel them if you’d prefer it
Love your recipes. Will make the cucumber radish salad.
Loved your recipe for the Hungarian Goulash and Russian Braised Cabbage .Both recipes are keepers. Thank you.

That’s so great Lucy! Thank you for sharing that wonderful feedback with me.
This is super good with just the three ingredients, but because I have masses of fresh herbs in the garden just now, I added fresh dill and mint, a hint of fresh garlic and a squeeze of lemon. Also used half whole-milk yogurt and half sour cream. Wonderful.
Thanks for the recipe!
That’s just awesome!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review Sue!
I made this on 28 Jul 2019, very well liked. I did use Greek yogurt as one person in the family does not like sour cream, but that did not hinder the flavor at all. Perfect side dish, worthy of 10 stars, as always. Thanks, Natasha, for the great recipe.
That’s so awesome Rodney! Thank you for sharing that amazing review with me!
Love radishes, eat them every day.
I just slice them and add a light sprinkle of salt.
Yummy
Are they so fresh and the best! Thank you for sharing that with us Joann!
Delicious!
I’m so happy you enjoyed that!
My family favorite for radishes, is in radish sandwiches!!
Bread, butter and a little salt on the sliced radishes in between the bread and butter.
That sounds delicious! Thank you for sharing that with me, Rick!
I will definitely try this, My Mom used to make a similar salad using sweet white onions sliced thinly instead of radishes – all other ingredients were the same as this recipe. . I loved it and I know I will love this one, too!
That’s so great, Sharon! I sure hope you do! I look forward to your feedback!
Easy to make super food salad. You can never go wrong. Thanks for sharing!

Cucumber has this refreshing taste that I really like. This recipe is perfect for the dinner that I’ll be hosting this weekend. I’m sure my guests will love it. I can’t wait to try this soon.

I love your radish recipes
I like to mince up radishes really tiny and use them in my deviled eggs!
That’s the best! Thank you so much for sharing that with me :).
Having a crispy and creamy salad with a Super Food is a must try salad recipe! Just a question. Can we add a bit of spiciness to this?
I think that may work! I personally love a little heat in my food so I say go for it! If you experiment I would love to know how you like it!
I made this salad and it turned out beautifully, just like mom made it in my childhood back in Ukraine. I cook well and often, but need to have a recipe in front of me, and your blog is a wealth of various recipes that work every time. Dyakuyu -Thank you and your family very much, Natasha!
Thank you for this wonderful review Iryna!! I’m so happy you enjoyed this recipe!
Natasha, you make recipes and cooking so much fun!
I appreciate the feedback, Joni!
Bought a huge bag of radishes today and found this recipe. It was perfect. The only change I made was all 0% greek yogurt instead of sour cream and add some dill. Very good. The yogurt cut some of the heat from the radishes. I will make it again.
I’m so happy to hear this worked well with yogurt! Thanks for sharing that with us!
I’ve never tried a salad like this. Looks simple enough to make and I can imagine the crunchiness of the radish really making this a joy to eat. Will definitely have to try this recipe! Thanks for sharing!
Hi John! I’m happy you discovered our blog! Hope you enjoy this recipe!
