Today I’m sharing something near and dear to me; a video tour of my parents’ stunning garden. I’ve shown you glimmers of it on Snapchat (@natashaskitchen) and Instagram but here is the grand garden tour.
We’ve been living with my parents for a couple of months now (while house hunting after selling our home), and we have been able to document my parents setting up their garden, witness what the upkeep entails, and film everything that grows there. My parents are master gardeners. They are amazing at what they do and I hope this video brings you beautiful inspiration.

This video was quite a project for my husband, Vadim, who filmed it over the course of several days. He got up early to capture the garden’s morning glow to avoid harsh sunlight and put it together beautifully. This is a video we will personally look back on and treasure. I hope you enjoy my parents’ vegetable garden video.
Thank you so much for watching!
The grandkids are always rummaging through the garden and finding sweet treasures. My son loves the strawberries while my baby girl is most drawn to the black current bushes :).
Haha and so am I! 😉
Here’s my very favorite spot in the garden – the space between the fruit trees and the grape vines. It’s even more surreal in the video because you feel like you’re right there!
Q: Do you keep a garden? Let me know what you love to plant in a comment below!
Hola Natasha, felicitaciones a tus padres, quede sumamente sorprendida,es un jardín sencillamente asombroso, bellìsimo, !maravilloso!, muchas bendiciones para ellos y para ti y tu familia.desde Venezuela.
Thank you for your nice comment! I had to do a google translate since my high school Spanish is very rusty :). Thanks again Ana!
I’m mostly jealous that you have walnuts growing there too. I love walnuts when their skin doesn’t come off all the way yet and your hands turn green/brown when you try to get it off and eat that yummy walnut. I haven’t eaten them like that in so many years 🙁 Amazing garden, how big is it? On the video it doesn’t look so big but there are so many things there, wow 🙂
Hi Olga! The garden portion probably spans 1/3 acre and with all the fruit trees and grape vines, it’s more like 1/2 acre of planted things.
Beautiful video, Beautiful garden! Nothing beats the nutrients and the taste of home grown vegetables and fruit! Your family is blessed!!!
Thank you so much Lena! I agree there’s really nothing like homegrown. I feel so blessed and I’m so thankful to God for my family and my parents and all the goodness and abundance He provides 🙂
This garden is incredible!!! Also, fantastic job on the video; no wonder you guys treasure this one. 😉
Taisa, thank you for the nice complement. Also I think my husband did a great job 😀.
Your parents garden is dreamy and looks like such an inviting space! I’m new to gardening and have a beloved little rainbow cherry tomato plant that I am very proud of. Haha 🙂 Next year I’ll add a but more variety.
Can I ask what kind of beets your parents grow? I have only ever seen the round kind that you see at the store, but their long thick carrot looking beets are beautiful!
Hi Nicole, I believe they are called Formanova beets :). I think she gets them from a catalogue but I’m sure they are also available online 🙂
thank you for the wonderful garden tour.your parents are amazing!
lucky you to pick & eat
Mimi, I feel so blessed to be able to enjoy their garden, we appreciate it everyday 😁.
The video was grand! Such hard working parents you have! I love your videos ,snaps and recipes! Natasha, you are truly a blessing and joy to watch and I look forward to each day hearing your sweet voice!
You’re so nice Denise, I really appreciate the compliments 😊.
I love your parents’ garden,Natasha. I wish we could have a garden like that here in Bombay, but alas !!!! we live in an apartment and I do grow a few plants, but nothing as spectacular as your parents garden. God bless them and may they always have this wonderful talent forever.
Thank you for your sweet comment Yardley 😊. Blessings to you and your family as well!
I-AM-WITHOUT-WORDS!!!!!! WOW!!!!!
🙂 🙂 🙂
Amazing!!! Hard working people-we need more of them! beautiful gardens!
I absolutely agree! Thank you so much Verna 🙂
Wow. What a beautiful garden!!!! I am so jealous!!.
My hobby is a little different. I love growing dwarf trees. I keep them on my windowsill during winter. I have a tangerine, a lemon, a lime, a strawberry tree,an Australian cherry, and mulberry trees. They cheer me up in the winter when everything is white and dead outside :). They are tiny but decent producers!.
That is so fascinating! Where do you purchase the trees to get started on something like that? Seriously neat hobby! I bet your trees are beautiful 🙂
I got most of them from Logees.com. They have beautiful trees and exotic plants. This is the only way for me to grow tropical trees in my zone 6B.
Awesome! thank you so much for sharing! 🙂
Thanks for sharing a wonderful garden. You have such a lovely family!
You’re so nice :). Thanks Kim!
Vadim you did a professional video job!
Thank you Gen! I’ll make sure he sees your comment 🙂
Beautiful garden, great family ! !
Thank you so much 🙂
Thank you for posting this video it is amazing they got so much stuff growing in their backyard. I realized how we have a few things in common a nurse by profession but staying home after a second baby and love to cook and try out probably half of ur recipes. I also have a little garden where I grow a bunch of strawberries this year also blueberry raspberry and black currant bushes. Tomatoes and cucumbers are a must last all summer long. kids love munching and picking on those berries and sweet peas we have growing. Also got dill onions sorrel beets carrots cabbage and zucchinis. A few apple trees and planted cherry tree and grape bush. It’s definitely a lot of work to keep up with it. Amazing parents u got. Thanks for sharing again
Wow it sounds like you have quite the garden!! And we really do have a lot in common! 🙂
What a super video!! I love this garden so much and am jealous I am not part of the family 😛
Thank you Kiran 🙂
Stunning!! Thanks for sharing!!
Awww thanks Dena 🙂
I loved seeing the beautiful garden. I know it is a lot of work and a lot of love! In the suburbs I stick with flowers. However, I wondered if your parents had many issues with animals with the munchies! I had poppies years ago for a short while, the rabbits ate them to the ground. They are now feasting on my lilies, phlox and I’m sure my hosts are next! My parent’s had a couple of cherry trees but the birds went after the cherries! I know they have to eat but it is frustrating. So great that your whole family gets to benefit from that garden!
Hi Teresa, the things that get eaten by the birds, they cover with nets (cherries and strawberries). Fortunately they don’t have any rabbits or other small animals that get into their vegetable garden. Do your parents live out in the country or in a country-like setting?
I live in Idaho, too. Where in Idaho do your parents live? The 19th Annual Coeur d’Alene Garden Tour is Sunday, July 10. What a treat this video is, thank you!
That garden tour sounds nice – I’ve never been! They live closer to Boise 🙂
Your parents are amazing gardeners and you are an amazing chef! It’s a little sad that it’s an 8 hour drive between Boise and Coeur d’Alene. Idaho is one big state! Thanks for all you do and sharing your wonderful family with us.
Wow I didn’t even realize it was that long of a drive! 🙂
I planted raspberries 3 years ago and there gigantic bushes now going further into my little garden.. I plant parsley, dill, radishes, sorrel, I planted spinach but in that little areas isn’t enough vitamins and nutrients so for some reason it turned yellow..
You might buy some top soil and mix it with potting soil. That worked in our little herb garden. Hope that’s helpful!
