Hi Phylllis, yes that would work to pipe the roses and then refrigerate. They will last for several days. I would recommend covering when refrigerating so they don’t absorb any food smells from the fridge.

Natasha, I want to make your Tres Leches cake the night before my friend’s babyshower. I want to cover it with this frosting roses. Can i cover it in roses when it’s ready the night before and put in the fridge or should i wait to frost it in the morning before the shower? Thanks
P.S love your recipes, can’t go wrong with any of them

Hi Cristina, thank you for that amazing compliment! 🙂 That cake is very moist so it is a little challenging to make roses or any kind of decor which is why I keep it simple. You would need a different frosting (such as our cupcake frosting) than what I have on the tres leches cake since whipped cream isn’t really stable enough to keep frosting roses looking awesome without falling off the cake. The cupcake frosting would probably work either the night before or day of. The whipped cream frosting however is a really great compliment to this cake because it is so light and the cake does not become overly sweet which is why I don’t stray from it.

      Natasha,
Did you use the frosting that you provided a link for in this video? Or was it buttercream frosting? The roses look so perfect.

Thank you so much for putting this out there, I watched so many tutorials and they were all so difficult and daunting or time consuming. I was seriously starting to stress these roses because my niec wants rose bouquets at her sweet 16 ball and I hadnt yet found a way to make them pretty! Its only 2 weeks before her ball and finally thanks to your tutorial I can confidently make her bouquets thank you so much.
