Cotton Candy House (New Home Update!)

If we look excited in this picture it’s because we so are!! It’s been 2 years of living with my parents since we sold our house and moving into our dream home is getting closer! I realize that I haven’t posted an update since our ground breaking announcement so here it is; our cotton candy house. We now have adorable insulation everywhere!
(Front Door and Entry)
Bible Verses for New House
We took these photos the other day and as we speak, the sheet rock is going up so it will look like a completely different house tomorrow! We wanted to get our scriptures on the framing before the sheetrock was placed. We went from room to room and wrote scriptures all over the place. No one will see them later but we will always know they are there ;). My husband discovered this idea on the Five Marigolds blog and we just knew we had to do it!
(In the Main Entry)
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” – Joshua 24:15
(In our son’s bathroom)
“My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you. Bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:14
(Daughter’s Bathroom)
“It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you – the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear and is worth much more to God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
We are building with Christensen Homes and it’s really coming together nicely. In just a few short months, we will be moved in. It feels so surreal and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to build our dream home. My husband and I have never purchased a new car or a new house so we are completely excited about the “new house smell” and something new for our family is just a dream come true.
(Master Bedroom – that vault is 😍)
“And over all these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:14
(Master Bath and Closets – we will have a tub! I’ve never had a tub in the master before!)
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12
(Kitchen & Dining Room – looking at it from the living room)
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8
“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
(Living room – hubby is 6’4 and that’s 19 feet at the highest point EEK!)
(Office with so much beautiful light from 3 big windows)
(Office scripture with husband’s cute handwriting :):))
I hope you got some cool bible verses for a new house ideas! I’m planning to get some of these in prints to hang on the walls after we move in.
It’s so important to have these reminders of what we value most – people are people and we can get sidetracked from what’s truly important. That’s why I love holidays so much. They are all reminders of what’s truly important and give us eternal perspective of what the Lord has done for us through Jesus.
(Siding in progress)
“You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” Deuteronomy 28:6
I hope you enjoyed the tour of our cotton candy house! I’ve kept our baby girl away intentionally during this stage because the house literally looks like cotton candy! I think she is the only one who may have a difficult transition because she doesn’t get that this is our house. She’ll miss Grandma’s house because that is the only ‘home’ she knows.
If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to help children transition during a move, please share your Mama or Papa bear wisdom in a comment below. Thanks friends!

gorgeous lay out! How many square feet is your new home? Love the tall ceilings!
Thank you so much Olga, we were worried that ceilings would be too tall but now we love them 😀.
Thankyou will try these on the weekend
Hello Natalie, congratulations for the beautiful house you are making! Also I can not wait to see new photos with the progress of the work! Regarding how to help your children adapt to moving, you can follow these tips.
Communication is essential:
It is important that you talk to your children to prepare them for the transfer well in advance. Children usually take longer to adapt to changes, so it is important that they are aware of what is going to happen so they can start preparing on a mental and emotional level. It is important to use a language appropriate to the age group when explaining why the family is moving. The best way is to convey a simple and clear message that the child can understand. Each parent knows the level of understanding of their children and the best way to explain them to the transfer. A child who is a little older can understand the concept of transfer for work, while a smaller one might find the reason for having to move to a larger house more convincing to allow more room to play. Once the child understands the reasons behind it, he will then be more ready to absorb the reality of the transfer.
Engage children in decisions:
Involve your children as much as possible in any transfer decision so they feel part of the process. For example, if the family is looking for a new home, ask the children for their opinion, ask them what they liked and what they did not like about each house. Another way to involve them might be to ask them where they would like to place their bed or their games in the new room, or ask their opinion for the choice of the color of the walls.
Take books or research:
Take the youngest children to the library to take a look at the transfer books, how to pack and how to get used to the new home. Instead, involve older children in an online search on the new area, on nearby attractions of the new house so that they can get excited about the transfer and the new area.
I hope they can be useful! 🙂
See you soon
So happy for you all! Love the scriptures all over! 🙂
Natalie, WOW!!! This is awesome testimony!
Praise God, you guys do it all right and may God bless you both and your kids abundantly!!!!😍😍😍😘😘😘
Thank you for your sweet words and blessing. We are so thankful and we know that this good gift is from the Lord. God bless you and your family abundantly also!
I LOVE this! We built our house (in Melbourne, Australia) and i’m so disappointed that we didn’t do this!! May your household be blessed with these strong foundations of Jesus’ steadfast love
I thinks its wonderful to write scriptures on the studding prior to the sheet rock going on…… and also to have each of those rooms scriptures in print in a frame in each room……… beautiful……. and what a lovely idea to have a “welcome to our home” scripture by your front door……..( we will be blessed coming in and going out”)…… May you all be abundantly blessed with a double portion…….. please keep more photos posted as you progress along…….
Hi Val, thank you for your thoughtful comment :). We will always know those scriptures are there :). I’m looking forward to sharing more as things progress 🙂
Congratulations on your new dream house. Thanks very berry much for the idea of Bible verses on the ” walls”
May God bless you for that even more.
When we will be building our new house, I will sure implement this idea. Loved it much
I’m so glad you liked the idea and are inspired to do the same! That’s wonderful! 🙂
Hello Natasha! Blessings to you and your family on this exciting journey. I had never seen the scripture idea before and I almost want to tear down some of our walls, just to write some up myself.
Best way to help little ones with such a transition is to allow them to feel ownership of the new space. If possible let her pick out paint color or decorations for her room. Tell her about all the great memories you will make in the new house, including her birthday party. More importantly reassure her that grandma and grandpas house will still be there for frequent visits.
Natasha,
You truly are a beautiful family as everyone has commented on. I always love to see families working for a cause together. I am a Bible teacher and I see so many sad families. So the scripture I want to share is this:
Revelation 21: 3 and 4.
Maybe you can share it with someone suffering.
Many are afraid of Revelation. But there is no need if we are trying our best! Your husband is a true ” head of his household”. I’m an older woman and believe me, spiritual men are hard to find. And a Young woman like yourself is a true blessing to know.💕 Sending love and hugs! Your house is beautiful! Your recipes amazing!🙋♀️
I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures here of your new home. I LOVE the idea of the Scrpture verses.
I am 98 years old (07/06/1919) and I share with you the thrill of building your home.
God Bless
I’m glad you enjoy the post so much Gladys! God Bless you 🙂
I love the idea of the scriptures. That is going to be a blessed house.
What a great idea! Long Life and Happiness!!!!! Ken
I just love it. I can’t wait to see it finished. It looks like it’s going be so lights, airy and sunny. Congrats!
I’m so happy for your family! You will have a beautiful new home! As far as your little girl adjusting, maybe Grandma can come over to the new house and make a big deal about it and her room and maybe spend the night with her. Making it special.
I love that you all wrote scriptures on the walls! My brother and his family had done the same thing, and I think it’s such a wonderful idea! So happy for y’all and your new house!!! 🙂
Natasha and Vadim, your house is beautiful. We just moved to our new house with our 3 and 1 year olds. Our suggestion is to keep telling her that you built her and her brother a new house. Our daughter really took to that. Now, when we leave she gets concerned and asks if we are coming back. We reassure her and now she tells everyone she has a new house.
It looks beautiful. elegant entrance. but for us from europe , it’s a bit strange not having firm brick house.
Wow! What a spacious house!
I can only imagine your excitement!
I like the fact that house looks cute and cozy yet spacious… rather than a castle from outside))
And those ideas if Bible verses is sooooooo cool!
Thank you for sharing and inspiring to be better)
They are the highest ceilings I have ever seen!!! Your new house (home) is looking great. Happy moving!!!!
Jill from Australia xx
Love seeing the progress of your house ♥️ The scriptures idea is awesome! Bathtub is a huge must, sometimes can’t wait for my evenings to be able to soak & just relax. I think you will def enjoy it 😊Blessings on the completion of your already beautiful home 🙏🏻
It is BEAUTIFUL! And I love the idea of writing scripture before it is finished! Your baby girl will adapt wonderfully! The idea of having a new bedroom will over take her and she won’t skip a beat! We went thru a similar change when my daughter was 6. She misses grandma and the old house, but loves her room. We focused on her designing her room and decorating, so just make it a new adventure!
Beautiful home! Love to bible verse idea! I’m super excited for those videos recipes in your new kitchen 🙂
God Bless you!
I can’t believe it, I was just thinking yesterday about it, wondering how the construction is going and when are you going to post the updates, and here we go 😊.
Love the idea of writing scriptures, so neat.
So happy for you and your family!!
God bless you
Thank you Anna for reading and following along :). I’m so glad you liked it. God bless you and your family also! 🙂
So excited for you and your lovely family. Also the wonderful scriptures chosen. May your family be blessed for many years to come in your new home. Love your cooking too!
How cool is that?scriptures actually in your home. Love your videos and recipes. You all are just so perky and sweet. Girl, you need your own show on cable.
I have watched and loved your recipe videos for quite some time now! You always seemed to have a light about you so I could never stop watching! What a blessing you are! Now reading this about the scriptures you wrote on your house I can understand why you stood out to me! God bless you my sister in Christ!! 💜 God’s anointing is on you!
Your comment means so much to me. It really blessed me. Thank you and blessings to you also!! 🙂
Hello. You made my day, this morning. I am so happy for you. Your new house looks amazing dear. Good luck and may God bless you.
Hi Rita, thank you so much for writing in and for your sweet comment. God bless you also! 🙂
House looks great!
A suggestion for an easy transition for your girl would be to have grandparents move in 😉😉
LOL. Thank you for that creative suggestion! 😉
Your new home will be Beautiful, looks Huge! LOL they say new house, new baby…LOL . I wish you a ton of happiness in your new home, God Bless…your family is adorable and I am loving all your videos and recipes!! A question for you, I grew up with a neighbor who was Ukranian, she made the best Kapusta with sauerkraut and bacon, she never wrote it down, just made it, her daughter doesn’t know how to make it, I loved it and am sorry I didn’t ask her to write it down, she has passed away, her daughter and I are wondering if you know of a recipe like this. It didn’t have any potato, or noodles. I’d appreciate a comment. Thanks so much, you are so cute when you taste your creation at the end of video when you raise your eyebrow, it cracks me up, making me smile. 😊
Hi Judy, I have some braised cabbage recipes. The one with beef sounds similar to what you are referring to.
What a beautiful home!
For your daughter, make sure her room is setup with her things, toys, etc so it would be familiar to her. It won’t be that hard of a transition, they understand more than we think. Talk to her about the new house on a daily basis and get her used to the idea.
Those are great suggestions!! I’ve been mentioning it to her sporadically but not regularly. Thank you!! 🙂 She is such a smart little lady. She is very agreeable when I tell her about it. 😉
Looks so good! We are building in the spring. What type of exterior siding are you using? I can’t wait to see the rest of your house 🏠
Hi Katy, congratulations on building!! So exciting!! 🙂 I believe it is called fiber cement? There will also be stone in several spots. 🙂
Beautiful home for a very beautiful family. May our Lord continue to bless you all mightily as you share His love to others in all you do. Thanks for your great videos and for sharing your passion of cooking and your beautiful home. Sending love and prayers your way.
Thank you so much Victoria! I sure appreciate your thoughtful comment and God bless you also!!
Congrats on the house! We are building a home right now too (although ours is still just a big hole) so I totally get the excitement! And I love the idea of writing scriptures in the walls. I might just steal that idea!
Oh that is awesome!! Congratulations!!! It feels like it takes forever but when you look back, it went really fast. I keep comparing it to pregnancy but in alot of ways, it is that way! 😉
I love that you are being supported in such beautiful ways in your life. I visit your site frequently for delicious recipes, because you are so good with food. Your smiling face is always so happy and kind. I love to see wonderful people succeed. Congratulations on all of your blessings and the new home coming into completed perfection for you and your family soon! 🙂
Thank you so much Ruby! You are so sweet 🙂 I sure appreciate your words 🙂
I’ve heard of writing Scripture on the walls, but not specific ones to each room/area. That is so neat! I’m excited for you guys!
Thank you so much Olviya! 🙂
A beautiful home for a beautiful family.
Natasha, I LOVE the Bible verse idea. Thank you for sharing such an awesome idea and for being so bold with your Christianity! As for the house, it is coming along so well. God truly satisfies His own with good things. Can’t wait to see the finished home!

Beautiful home!
WE did this with my husband too few weeks ago. Love it!
Where are you building?
That is so exciting! So happy for your family! Thank you for keeping first things first and giving all the glory to God! The Lord is definitely blessing you for your faithfulness and hard work!
Love the Scripture verses…a great foundation.
Absolutely love the bible verses in each room and each chosen well. Thanks for sharing and best of luck on the rest of the build!
Love the progress, Natasha and Vadim!
I’m especially loving the Scripture, such a cute idea. We have wall decal with Scripture and inspirational phrases for our walls as well. They are such a great reminder on a daily basis.
My favorite:
Live in such a way that those who know you, but don’t know God, will come to know God because they know you. 😊😊
That is beautiful and thank you for sharing! Did you buy your decals online?
Your house looks fantastic! It has been years since I have heard the term “sheet rock”. Does that mean you’re going to have real plastered finishes?
I’m not sure what real plastered finishes even are to be honest! 🙂 I’m learning about things every step of the way. We selected a kind of texture for the walls – some kind of hand texturing but I don’t know what it is called 🙂
I can not imagine how excited you must be about moving in soon! Gods blessings in this process to you and your family!
It’s bubbling up inside of me like a volcano! lol. 🙂 Thank you so much my friend 🙂
So beautiful. I love the bible verses and the photos you’re taking.
Thank you so much Nataliya! 🙂
Wow such a stunning home Natasha! It really looks like a dream come true 😉 wish you all the best with your move!
We are so thankful – it really is a dream come true and answer to prayer for us.
Our son was born in my parents’ house, and we moved into a small apartment about 8 months ago, when he was 2.5 years old. I was so worried about how he would transition, but amazingly he did a GREAT job! I think the first couple weeks he just kept saying he wants to go “home” and this isn’t a “home” it’s an “apartment”! 🙂 But your cutie won’t have that argument to make, will she? I think she will do perfectly well!
Ha ha that’s funny. When we were on vacation, she said I want to go home 10 days straight morning and bedtime. Hopefully it won’t go on forever. lol 🙂 Funny thing is when we got home she kept saying it and wanted to go back to Maui! 😉
Your house looks so similar to our new construction. We are finishing up finish work and getting ready for paint. So exciting and stressful at the same time.
Such an exciting time! Congratulations on your new home and God bless your home building process! 🙂
