If we look excited in this picture it’s because we so are!! It’s been 2 years of living with my parents since we sold our house and moving into our dream home is getting closer! I realize that I haven’t posted an update since our ground breaking announcement so here it is; our cotton candy house. We now have adorable insulation everywhere!
(Front Door and Entry)
Bible Verses for New House
We took these photos the other day and as we speak, the sheet rock is going up so it will look like a completely different house tomorrow! We wanted to get our scriptures on the framing before the sheetrock was placed. We went from room to room and wrote scriptures all over the place. No one will see them later but we will always know they are there ;). My husband discovered this idea on the Five Marigolds blog and we just knew we had to do it!
(In the Main Entry)
“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” – Joshua 24:15
(In our son’s bathroom)
“My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you. Bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:14
(Daughter’s Bathroom)
“It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you – the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear and is worth much more to God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4
Our new home is really coming together nicely. In just a few short months, we will be moved in. It feels so surreal and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to build our dream home. My husband and I have never purchased a new car or a new house so we are completely excited about the “new house smell” and something new for our family is just a dream come true.
(Master Bedroom – that vault is 😍)
“And over all these virtues, put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:14
(Master Bath and Closets – we will have a tub! I’ve never had a tub in the master before!)
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12
(Kitchen & Dining Room – looking at it from the living room)
“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8
“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
(Living room – hubby is 6’4 and that’s 19 feet at the highest point EEK!)
(Office with so much beautiful light from 3 big windows)
(Office scripture with husband’s cute handwriting :):))
I hope you got some cool bible verses for a new house ideas! I’m planning to get some of these in prints to hang on the walls after we move in.
It’s so important to have these reminders of what we value most – people are people and we can get sidetracked from what’s truly important. That’s why I love holidays so much. They are all reminders of what’s truly important and give us eternal perspective of what the Lord has done for us through Jesus.
(Siding in progress)
“You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” Deuteronomy 28:6
I hope you enjoyed the tour of our cotton candy house! I’ve kept our baby girl away intentionally during this stage because the house literally looks like cotton candy! I think she is the only one who may have a difficult transition because she doesn’t get that this is our house. She’ll miss Grandma’s house because that is the only ‘home’ she knows.
If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to help children transition during a move, please share your Mama or Papa bear wisdom in a comment below. Thanks friends!

Hello Natalie, congratulations for the beautiful house you are making! Also I can not wait to see new photos with the progress of the work! Regarding how to help your children adapt to moving, you can follow these tips.
Communication is essential:
It is important that you talk to your children to prepare them for the transfer well in advance. Children usually take longer to adapt to changes, so it is important that they are aware of what is going to happen so they can start preparing on a mental and emotional level. It is important to use a language appropriate to the age group when explaining why the family is moving. The best way is to convey a simple and clear message that the child can understand. Each parent knows the level of understanding of their children and the best way to explain them to the transfer. A child who is a little older can understand the concept of transfer for work, while a smaller one might find the reason for having to move to a larger house more convincing to allow more room to play. Once the child understands the reasons behind it, he will then be more ready to absorb the reality of the transfer.
Engage children in decisions:
Involve your children as much as possible in any transfer decision so they feel part of the process. For example, if the family is looking for a new home, ask the children for their opinion, ask them what they liked and what they did not like about each house. Another way to involve them might be to ask them where they would like to place their bed or their games in the new room, or ask their opinion for the choice of the color of the walls.
Take books or research:
Take the youngest children to the library to take a look at the transfer books, how to pack and how to get used to the new home. Instead, involve older children in an online search on the new area, on nearby attractions of the new house so that they can get excited about the transfer and the new area.
I hope they can be useful! 🙂
See you soon
So happy for you all! Love the scriptures all over! 🙂
Natalie, WOW!!! This is awesome testimony!
Praise God, you guys do it all right and may God bless you both and your kids abundantly!!!!😍😍😍😘😘😘
Thank you for your sweet words and blessing. We are so thankful and we know that this good gift is from the Lord. God bless you and your family abundantly also!
I LOVE this! We built our house (in Melbourne, Australia) and i’m so disappointed that we didn’t do this!! May your household be blessed with these strong foundations of Jesus’ steadfast love
I thinks its wonderful to write scriptures on the studding prior to the sheet rock going on…… and also to have each of those rooms scriptures in print in a frame in each room……… beautiful……. and what a lovely idea to have a “welcome to our home” scripture by your front door……..( we will be blessed coming in and going out”)…… May you all be abundantly blessed with a double portion…….. please keep more photos posted as you progress along…….
Hi Val, thank you for your thoughtful comment :). We will always know those scriptures are there :). I’m looking forward to sharing more as things progress 🙂
Congratulations on your new dream house. Thanks very berry much for the idea of Bible verses on the ” walls”
May God bless you for that even more.
When we will be building our new house, I will sure implement this idea. Loved it much
I’m so glad you liked the idea and are inspired to do the same! That’s wonderful! 🙂
Hello Natasha! Blessings to you and your family on this exciting journey. I had never seen the scripture idea before and I almost want to tear down some of our walls, just to write some up myself.
Best way to help little ones with such a transition is to allow them to feel ownership of the new space. If possible let her pick out paint color or decorations for her room. Tell her about all the great memories you will make in the new house, including her birthday party. More importantly reassure her that grandma and grandpas house will still be there for frequent visits.
Natasha,
You truly are a beautiful family as everyone has commented on. I always love to see families working for a cause together. I am a Bible teacher and I see so many sad families. So the scripture I want to share is this:
Revelation 21: 3 and 4.
Maybe you can share it with someone suffering.
Many are afraid of Revelation. But there is no need if we are trying our best! Your husband is a true ” head of his household”. I’m an older woman and believe me, spiritual men are hard to find. And a Young woman like yourself is a true blessing to know.💕 Sending love and hugs! Your house is beautiful! Your recipes amazing!🙋♀️
I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures here of your new home. I LOVE the idea of the Scrpture verses.
I am 98 years old (07/06/1919) and I share with you the thrill of building your home.
God Bless
I’m glad you enjoy the post so much Gladys! God Bless you 🙂
