Caesar Pasta Salad Recipe:
This salad has all the creamy goodness of a classic Caesar salad but is so much more exciting with the addition of pasta, avocado and tomatoes
This caesar pasta salad will fill you up and keep you feeling good! It’s also a great dish to take to a potluck, just keep the croutons separate until ready to serve.
Ingredients for Caesar Pasta Salad:
1 large or 2 medium heads of romaine lettuce
1/2 lb fusilli pasta, cooked al dente according to package instructions
1 medium avocado, peeled, pitted and diced
1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
Grated parmesan cheese, to taste
Caesar Dressing (Marzetti is our favorite storebought brand) and Croutons.
Optional add-ins:
Sliced Grilled chicken, Shrimp
How to Make Caesar Pasta Salad:
1. Cook pasta according to package instructions then rinse in cold water and drain.
2. Rinse, chop and spin the romaine lettuce dry using a salad spinner (Amazon affiliate link). If you don’t have a salad spinner, pat dry with a clean towel.
Cook’s Tip: The dressing will coat the salad much better if the lettuce isn’t wet. Transfer lettuce to a large mixing bowl. Toss in the diced avocado and halved tomatoes.
3. Creamy Caesar Dressing to really boost the flavor of this salad. It’s so creamy and good! Toss to evenly coat the lettuce. Add the dressing to taste. Sprinkle with parmesan and croutons. Yum. Yum

Dies this stay good for a few days? I would love to make this ahead of time to take to work
Hi Savannah the only part of this that does not work to make ahead is the lettuce – it will wilt if kept overnight after adding the dressing. Our Chicken avocado salad does keep well in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
We loved this recipe… so easy to put together and so tasty and it even looked good. I’ll be making this again for sure.
I’m glad to hear that Pam! Thanks for sharing your great review!
Is it ok to put the pasta in the fridge so it isn’t hot on the salad?
Hi Hagan, you can if you wish. I always rinse it in cold water which cools it sufficiently, but refrigerating would also work great 🙂
The safest way to cool pasta is rinsing and/or soaking in cold water. Then you can put it in the fridge. Putting it directly in the fridge is dangerous and can harvest bacteria.
How many people will this serve?
It would serve 4 people 🙂
How many calories is one serving?
Hi Chelse, I don’t have nutritional information on most of my recipes due to time constraints. Sorry I can’t be more helpful!
Thanks for sharing this pasta and avocado Caesar salad recipe. I used my own Caesar dressing that I learned from my mom and it complimented your recipe really well! Next time, I hope to see your own created dressing for which I would want to see a recipe.
I am so glad you enjoyed it! Maybe that dressing can be added to my list of “to-do” recipes.
Sorry, but a salad recipe with a dressing out of a bag is not a recipe to me. The Internet is international and this dressing isn’t avilble to everyone.
Hi Kathy, I’m sorry you aren’t able to find it. It’s our favorite store-bought dressing and this post was sponsored by the company that makes it, but if you need a homemade one, we have that too! Click here for our Caesar dressing recipe.
I must have missed the name of the store bought dressing you referred to…can you tell me the brand?
Yes, Marzetti is our favorite store-bought brand.
Love this recipe, thanks for sharing 🙂

Hi Natasha, how come I can’t find a video for this recipe?
Hi Yelena, the sponsors video players stopped working correctly. Unfortunately they didn’t allow me to upload it to my YouTube channel so I’m not sure when it will be posted again. Sorry! 🙁
So very good. You really don’t need the dressing if you use a whole avocado and olive oil
I love smart and healthy substitutions like that! Thank you for sharing!
This was absolutely delicious!

I will use the BALSAMIC SALAD DRESSING to dress up my favorite pasta salad with veggies, olives, peppers, mozzarella cheese and pepperoni.
I would use the Ranch Dressing in my grilled chicken salad.
