Avocado prices seem to vary wildly by season and location. When prices of avocados are up in most grocery stores, my go-to spot is Costco where a bag of 6 larger sized avocados runs about $6-$7 pretty much year round.
Q: Where do you buy your avocados?
P.S. Which one of these viral avocado recipes is YOUR favorite??
Two family members hate Cilantro. What do you recommend as a substitute?
Hi Pat, for this recipe you can swap cilantro with chives or dill, or even finely chopped fresh parsley adding them to taste 🙂
Parsley.
How is the corn cooked? Or what type of corn is it? Do you cook it before putting it in salad? What type if shrimp? How long do you cook it for and what do you put on the shrimp?
Hello Barbara, the corn is cooked and boiled. When corn is out of season, you can cook some frozen corn that was sealed at the peak of freshness. For the shrimp, we used raw and cooked it following steps 1 & 2 in the recipe. I hope that helps.
What brand and what type of olive oil is the best to use or which one are you using in your videos.
For the Shrimp Co recipe, I used Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

My family loves the Avocado Chicken Salad and the Avocado Shrimp Salsa. Being from the southern tip of Texas, avocados are available year round and that is great since my family loves them in everything from salads to tacos to soups. Posting your recipes and videos on Facebook has added to your fan views. Keep the recipes coming and thanks for the great videos.
I’m happy to hear how much you’re family has been enjoying the recipes. Thanks for following and sharing your wonderful review!

It’s my pleasure Kashana! I’m happy to hear you’re enjoying the recipes. Thanks for following!
Do you have any recommendations for what I could substitute cilantro with? My fiance cannot eat cilantro.
Hi Catherine, it depends on the salad, but you can swap cilantro with chives or dill, or even finely chopped fresh parsley adding them to taste 🙂
I am so glad to see salad recipes and dressings without mayo and vinegar. I hate both and it is hard to find good salads that aren’t boring. I love avocado and fresh veggies. When I am in a hurry, my little one and I will mix a can of tuna with two individual chunky guacamole cups to make a tuna sandwich. it is also good with canned salmon and chicken. It’s fast and easy. You can also eat it with chips.
Yum, that sounds delicious! I hope you enjoy the recipes Marsha!
how can I print your wonderful recipes?
Hi Gail, when you click on the individual recipes that you wish to print, there is a print button at the top right of the recipe page and a second print button towards the end of the recipe in the shaded print-friendly recipe box.
I am trying to find the recipe from a video for a bowtie pasta, spinach, chicken (?) and avocado salad. Does this sound familiar? I saw it on FB. I am getting dizzy trying to scan all your wonderful salad recipes. Thank you so much.
Hi Maria, I think that recipe might be on my friend’s blog at https://www.lecremedelacrumb.com/
I can’t wait to try these on my wife
They are all so popular for good reason! Please let me know what you both think!
After trying the salsa one yesterday became my new favorite and the cucumber tomato with avocado( has been my all time favorite to use avocados for)
I usually buy avocados from Aldi or lidl or sams club if they not on sale at the other 2 stores.
That’s awesome! You are the second person to mention Aldi’s! Wishing we had one locally! 🙂 Thank you for the amazing review!
Do these recipes keep well in the refrigerator over several days? I am thinking of using them for meal prep for the week. Will the dressing make the veggies soggy? Maybe keep it to the side until ready to serve? Or does the lemon prevent that?
Hi Alyssa, It depends on the recipe, for pretty much all of them, I would suggest that if you were meal prepping, do not add salt until ready to serve since salt will wilt the vegetables and make them release juice. You will want to drizzle the avocado all over with lemon juice to keep it from browning in the refrigerator and then cover directly over the surface with plastic wrap to keep the air out (since air exposure is what causes avocados to brown). I hope that helps! 🙂
A: Aldi! At some point in the year they cost 39 cents a piece! Otherwise Sams Club 😀
I have only tried the cucum. tom. Avac. Salad but after watching this video im thinking ill try em all!
That is an amazing price! I’ve never seen them that low in Idaho, but we also don’t have an Aldi. I hope you love all of the recipes! 🙂 Thanks Ksusha!
I LOVE all of them, Natasha! It’s hard to see a favorite. You are so talented in the kitchen!
You are so kind! Thank you for your thoughtful comment! 🙂
