Welcoming Our Baby Girl

This week we welcomed our baby girl, Diana, into the world. We are so thankful to have a healthy, beautiful daughter and a blessed delivery. I wanted to share her baby story with you along with loads of newborn photos. Thank you to everyone who prayed for our family during my pregnancy. I’m so grateful to be surrounded by such caring readers, friends, and family. 🙂

Our first child was born via Emergency C-section which I won’t go into, but my prayer for this delivery was to have a normal labor with a healthy baby and healthy me :). Once you’ve had a cesarean, it’s risky to go too much past your due date so I scheduled an induction with my Doctor about a week after I was due. All the while, I had been praying to go into labor sooner on my own. The morning of my induction came and I was so excited that I didn’t sleep much that night. My husband, son and I were all up early getting ready.

Baby Story - Beautiful Newborn Photography @natashaskitchen

[My hubby took this belly pic of me on my Due date (March 7th)].

Just before we left the house, I got the call that the hospital was full and I would have to reschedule. We were bummed and tried to go back to sleep so my son crawled into bed with me (because it was the only way we could get him back to sleep) and my husband went to David’s bed. Then I felt a strong kick and boom; she broke my water. My son could tell I was in pain and became very concerned. I told him to go get daddy right away because mommy needed his help so David bolted out of bed yelling, “Daddy it’s an emergency mama needs your help.”

Literally, a few minutes later my Dr. called to apologize that they had to reschedule but she was happy to hear that Diana had already decided that this morning was her time. Since we were packed and ready, we were on our way. I am in awe of God’s timing in jumpstarting my labor naturally; a last minute miracle!

On the way to the hospital, my contractions grew stronger and more painful and my son was very concerned saying, “Daddy can you drive a little faster?”

    Welcoming Our Baby Girl

[Of course we took a picture together before we entered the hospital doors, knowing that when we came back out, life would never be the same].

    Welcoming Our Baby Girl -1

[Ha ha this is what girls do before the real contractions kick in].

I’ll spare you the labor details but I will say that I wanted to hug my Mom and tell her how much I appreciated that she gave birth naturally to all 5 of us and in Ukraine no less (labor pains cannot be compared to any other pain).

[David’s first time holding her – he was singing rock-a-bye when she started crying and then he was shushing us when she fell asleep. It was so sweet]

The hospital provided a service from Bella Baby and all of the photos below were taken by Kim Price who did an amazing job capturing our sweet bundle and our overwhelming joy.

My husband Vadim was wonderful and helpful during the process and I’m so thankful that he was there to support me. I’m also incredibly blessed to have a Christian Doctor who I know prays for all her patients and who stuck it out the entire day to deliver our daughter. Diana was born at 10:12 PM on March 13th, weighed 7 lbs 8 oz and was 20″ long. It was such a beautiful moment to be able to hold her in my arms and hear her cry as soon as she was born. It was definitely a piece of heaven on earth. She is perfection – wonderfully created by her Creator. Her hair is so long, dark, and gorgeous. I’ll be making ponytails in no time.

Congratulations on your little blessing!!! Diana is a beauty!!! Im so happy that you had a good pregnancy and delivery. I also wanted to hug my mom and tell her how much I loved her for having me and my 5 siblings!! I never knew how painful labor is until I had both my children. Not to mention that my mom drove me to the hospital when my first child was born because my husband was still working. She was outside the door during the whole process, crying. Thankfully, I only found that out after my son was born. Because I don’t think I would have survived if I knew. My husband did make it in time to see his son born, whew. And I agree with you that support from your husband is important and helpful. It seems so much easier when he is holding your hand through it all 🙂 Children are a blessing from God. Enjoy this special time. Wishing you a fast recovery.

Oh my goodness yes it is a good thing you found out after – that’s a tough thing to wrap your mind around. A mother’s love is endless. I’m so happy to hear your husband made it in time – it would be incredibly difficult not to have your hubby there. Thank you so much for sharing your story and for your sweet words 🙂

Congratulations, Natasha and family! It’s always SO uplifting to hear about another baby’s safe arrival. From here on out it will probably be all about the baby, but YOU (and your mom too) are amazing, Natasha! Not a task easily forgotten, LOL. Praise the Lord for perfect timing and supportive birth teams.

I love the name, too. I know another David and Diana family (Russian-speaking), and my little boy is David. Maybe a little Diana (or maybe Dasha) will join our family one day. A girl can dream!

My husband won with both names – he’s the baby namer in the family but I love his choices and I thought they were better than the ones I had. 🙂 Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment 🙂

Congratulations Natasha!! I wanted to tell you how grateful I am to have found your blog! I’m not good at cooking and it’s been hard since I got married. My husband (He is from Tajikistan) and I ( from Malaysia ) we have a very different cultures in cuisine. He is all about breads and potatoes, and I’m all about rice and noodles. I’m a full time mom now ( have a 4 months old baby girl ), and I’ve been trying to learn how to cook! Since I found your blog, I had made the Roasted Salsa and the Eggplant caviar based on your recipe and they were awesome!!! I have impressed my hubby 🙂 lol Thank you so much for sharing your recipes! Your baby girl is adorable! God bless you and your family!!

He was due Sept. 11, but came sooner, Sept. 7. We live by the spokane river-centenial trail, and i would stroll there a lot. Also i went to camp being 8 months and lived in a tent for 3 nights. Rough! Going to the restroom at night, crawling out of the tent, what a blast! Anyways… got a little carried away… 😉
