Chicken Mango Avocado Salad (VIDEO)
This Chicken Mango Avocado Salad is loaded with juicy chicken, creamy avocado and that sweet pop of mango flavor take this mango salad over the top. A Cheesecake Factory recipe (copycat).

Chicken Mango Salad:
Last week’s date night to the Cheesecake Factory, resulted in the discovery of this Chicken Mango Avocado Salad. The combination of sweet, savory and tangy ingredients make this a refreshing and memorable summer salad and the honey vinaigrette couldn’t be easier!
I highly highly recommend you top this with the toasted almonds (I forgot to toss them in before photographing but they add a nice crunch and compliment the mango very well. The Cheesecake Factory recipe had wonton strips over the top but I wasn’t too keen on them – just extra calories without much flavor. We loved the toasted almonds 100 times more – crunchy, nutty, fragrant and guilt-free!
Chicken Avocado Mango Salad Ingredients:
The combination of flavors and textures makes this a very exciting salad to eat! It is loaded with juicy chicken, crisp lettuce, sweet mango, creamy avocado and crunchy almonds – this salad is a winner! No wonder it is such a popular cheesecake factory recipe.
If you love mangos, a mango slicer makes it easy and efficient to cut out the pit. Also, every salad lover should have a salad spinner in their kitchen. It is a major time-saving tool. You can rinse, drain and spin dry in just a couple of minutes. No more soggy salads!
How to Cut a Mango:
1. A mango has one long, flat seed that goes from stem to nose. If you don’t have a mango slicer, you can cut a mango with a sharp slim knife: slice off the sides around the seeds keeping as close to the seed as you can. Scoop the flesh out of the skin and slice or dice desired.
The SECRET to Perfectly Sauteed Chicken:
See that juicy chicken? The KEY to juicy sauteed chicken every time is using an instant-read thermometer. Remove the chicken from the pan once it reaches 165˚F.

- Beet Arugula Salad – crowd-pleasing, party favorite

Q: Do you have a favorite Summer Salad? I would love to hear from YOU in a comment below!
This is my go-to dinner for when we have company or even to deliver to a new mom–everyone loves it and appreciates that it’s healthy & delicious!
I’m so glad it’s being enjoyed! Thanks for sharing.
This looks so refreshing however, I’m allergic to mangos. What would you recommend as a substitute? Thank you!
Hi Rosi, I haven’t tried another substitution but one of our readers commented this “I made this today but didn’t have enough mango. I added some fresh peaches to it, still delicious!” Hope that helps.
Absolutely fabulous salad. We had it at the cottage tonight and it was a hit ! Your recipes are the best.Natasha.
Thank you for your great comments and feedback, we’re happy to know that it was a huge hit!
Made this tonight with some rotisserie chicken and frozen mango. I forgot the cilantro (dang it!) It was an excellent summer main course salad, and I loved it! I was quite surprised how much the dressing complimented the salad, as tasting it by itself was just okay. who knew that garlic, mango, and avocado would play so nicely together? Thanks, Natasha!!
You’re welcome, Lauri! I’m so glad you loved this!
I legit did a little happy dance in my chair when I ate this. SO refreshing and delicious! I bet it would be great with mandarins if mangos are not in season as well
It really is that good! Thank you for your wonderful review, Kim!
Nat !! This Chicken Mango Salad is so delish !! I never thought of putting the two together ! Awesome ! One of my new favs for sure . We also really like broc cheddar salad and pea cheddar red onion salad…so simple with just half mayo/half sour cream dressing, s&p well chilled but so good . Anyway , thanks for the yummy salad recipe….take care 😄
Hi Lydia! You’re very welcome. Thank you for trying the recipe. I’m glad you loved it.
It was sooooooooooo good thank you for a great recipe I love it and I made it with shrimp also
Hi Carolyn! I’m glad you loved the recipe. Thank you for sharing.
I made this for dinner tonight and it was absolutely delicious. My husband loved it and it was easy to make! I haven’t made one of your recipes yet that I didn’t like!
That’s amazing, April! Thank you for the feedback.
I made this for my family tonight. They loved it! Thank you for your videos and recipes. I check them out daily. I have never had one of your recipes be a flop. Thank you. 💕
That’s wonderful, Linda! I’m glad they enjoyed it.
I made this tonight. It is awesome. My family loved it. My daughter said it’s amazing. I check out your recipes daily. Thank you for your videos and recipes.
Hi Linda! That’s wonderful. I’m so glad you love them. Thank you for sharing.
I was more impressed by Natasha’s hair and her presentation than the actual salad.
Really Fabulous. I just happened to have all the ingredients in my home! And leftover chicken, so didn’t need to cook. So, I found this recipe by just searching. So good and colorful. Husband and I loved it. I can see some minor adaptations, especially for pescatarians and vegetarians.
Don’t you just love when that happens? I’m so glad you had everything on hand, K!
Thank you for a delicious recipe! This is one that can be modified in so many ways, different nuts, veggies and fruits for equally yummy results, I used pistachios and added grapes. One suggestion I would make is to use 1/2 olive oil and 1/2 canola or other mild oil as the olive oil is quite strong. But that’s just my preference.Again, thanks!!
Hi Kathleen! Thank you for sharing your feedback. So glad you enjoyed this recipe.
Awesome salad! I told my husband we were having chicken mango avocado salad and he was not real excited. He loved it! I did roast my skin on and bone in chicken in the oven. Thank you!
So glad he enjoyed the salad, Sara!
Natasha, I made this beautiful salad today! Sorry I didn’t get a picture (we were so excited to eat it)! It did not disappoint! All these flavors were absolutely DELISH!! I will so be making this awesome salad again n again😋 Thank you for all your wonderful recipes. God Bless!
No worries, Carole. Feel free to share some photos of your creation next time on our Facebook page or group. Thanks for the awesome review too!
Love this salad! This my 2nd salad from your recipes and they are the best I have ever made! I love your easy explanations, your humor and the fabulous flavors. 1 question – which mango siicer do you use? it’s almost mango season!
You’re so nice! Thank you, Ellen! you can find our favorite kitchen tools in our Amazon Affiliate Shop HERE.

Thanks a lot for sharing my recipes, I’m glad your family is enjoying them!
I made this chicken mango avocado salad OMG was it delicious!!! I wish I could add my picture to ahow you cuz it looked so pretty on my plate.
Fantastic! Thank you for trying this recipe. I’m glad it was delicious!
The salad is great but what is the serving size? I can only find the calorie count and stuff.
Hi Alesha, The serving size can be found at the beginning of the print-friendly recipe card (located at the bottom of the recipe post). The nutrition label shows counts “per serving.” Hope that helps!
Love this recipe! I have a question regarding food pairing using this recipe. I’m planning a luncheon where I’d like to serve this salad with a homemade rich chicken noodle soup. Would this salad, minus the chicken go well with the chicken noodle soup? Thank you for your thoughts.
Hi Nancy, because of the sweet flavors mixed into this salad, it probably wouldn’t be my first choice. The avocado chicken salad or cobb salad might work better or even a classic caesar. I have all of those recipes on my blog.
I’ve never reviewed an online recipe before in my life; however, I simply couldn’t not write this. I got sucked in by the 50+ 5 star recipes, only to find this is the most boring salad I have ever eaten in my life. Granted, I’ve never had the salad from Cheesecake Factory so I can’t say how it compares… maybe it’s just as bland there too?
Hi Natasha!
Thanks for sharing this mouthwatering recipe.
Question. Can i add a different type of herb like parsley or dill maybe instead cilantro?
Thanks.
You can totally add whichever you prefer or just omit the cilantro altogether.
Hi. This salad looks delicious! Where did you purchase the fruit scoop? Thank You!🤓
Hi Pamella, we have it in our Amazon Shop HERE if you’d like it. It’s a fruit scoop from OXO
I LOVE this salad!! I was in need for some more ideas for my school lunch and came across this recipe and decided to try it. I literally cannot describe how good this salad is! I’ve made many of your recipes but this one is one of my favorites! It is so simple to make and it’s delicious! When my friends had tried the salad they loved it too, so I sent them the recipe and now they make this salad all the time. I wish I could give this more than 5 stars because it is just so good!
Aren’t the flavors so fresh and amazing?! I’m happy you enjoyed this salad recipe, Sarah!! Best of luck in school!
Natasha i love all your recipes especially the salad and dressing. If i double the recipe of the dressing for later use, what is the shelf life of honey vinaigrette dressing?
Great to hear that you’re enjoying my recipes, Judith. I haven’t really tried keeping the dressing for a long time to advise. I’ve only tried storing and keeping it for a couple of days.
I love your salads, make them all the time especially for family gatherings 🤩❤❤always a hit.
Aww, that’s the best! Thank you so much for sharing that with me, Althea!
Hi I just want to know can you use other salads in the salads recipe.
Hi Natasha, love watching your videos.
For the mango, can I use the frozen one?…thanks
Hi Elena, thank you! I love using fresh mangoes for my salads but frozen will work too.
awesome recipe! very delicious!
Thanks for your great review, Dina!
It’s Mango Season in Florida. This salad is a great combination of wonderful ingredients! The dressing is also delicious. Thank you Natasha!
You are very welcome, Cathy! Thank you so much for your nice review, I’m happy to know that you enjoyed it.
Delicious salad. I don’t have a salad spinner so I washed & patted my romaine dry & it was very crisp. Love that you add videos to your recipes.
I will definitely make this again
Ohhhhh, and the dressing is AMAZING!
Hi Christina, that is a fantastic review and feedback. Thank you so much for sharing that with us!
This salad was soooo good!!! I added way more Dijon and honey to the dressing. I also marinated the chicken in the dressing before I grilled it. Very colorful and beautiful! Perfect summer dinner 😍
Thanks for your great feedback! Glad you loved this recipe.
Hi Natasha! My sister and I made this recipe for dinner today. It was delicious! We loved it! The dressing was so good! Thanks for the recipe! We will continue to use more of your new recipes, that we haven’t used yet.

Best salad ever, even a male hack cook like me can make it. made it and the amazing dressing for my parents and they think Im a genius. I enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much.
That’s just awesome! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review!
most welcome Natasha .
This was my least favorite recipe from this blog. I followed the recipe and I even took out the seeds of my regular cucumber to avoid soggy lettuce …didn’t work and the mango didn’t add anything to it…I’m bummed because the recipe sounds promising but I won’t be making this again.
Hi Kamilla, my best advice to avoid sogginess in lettuce is to use a salad spinner to thoroughly spin dry.
This is my all-time favorite salad. I could eat it all week and not get sick of it lol. I actually eat it at least once a week for dinner. Very filling too. Thanks Natasha for this awesome recipe 👍
You’re welcome! I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Shermila!
Outstanding recipe. The dressing makes this classic salad a dish for company. Made it, Ate it, Enjoyed it.. thank you.
Hi Viola, so lovely to hear that! Thank you for sharing that with us and for giving this recipe 5 stars!
Hi there Natash, my family just love all your recipes and I do too. I am looking for a nice beef veggie noodle soup. You don’t seam to have one? Please can you help. Thanks
Juanita from Valencia Spain
That’s so nice to know, thank you for sharing! You can check out some of these beef soup recipes.
I always loved this type of sandwich ,and now I can make it
at home .
Thankyou Natasha!
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for sharing your great review.
Every time I make this salad I have to print off the recipe for friends. This is the best salad I have ever had and is my go to meal when I go to barbeques. It is a guarantee hit with everyone. Thankyou so much
That’s so great, Bree! I’m happy you all enjoyed this recipe.
Delicious, very tasty and easy to make! Dressing blends well with the ingredients. And it’s husband approved!!
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with us!
Hi Natasha, I tried this recipe and absolutely loved it, even my picky eaters (children) didn’t complain. I didn’t have any ACV so used white wine vinegar instead in the dressing and it was fine. Thank you for sharing this recipe, it’s a winner.
That is the best when kids love what we parents make. That’s so great!
Would love to try this salad! Do you think I can replace the chicken (my husband is allergic) with tofu or shrimps?
Hi Ceri! I imagine this would work with Shrimp! I would like to know how you like this recipe with this substitution!
I used tofu for my vegetarian daughters. I cubed the tofu, marinated it for 30 min in some of the dressing, and then baked the marinated tofu to give it a crispy exterior. Once it was cool, I proceed with the recipe as written. Great success! The girls *loved* it. I’m going to try with shrimp as well. Although I do love the chicken in it. Wonderful, adaptable recipe! Thank you Natasha!
Sounds wonderful! Thank you for sharing that with us, we appreciate the tips and review!
This recipe is delicious. , dressing is on key . Love your recipes. I’ve made lots of your recipes. Thank you
You’re welcome! I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Kathy!
Made the avocado/mango salad tonight with the dressing and it was delicious! I did add crumbled feta cheese as I love cheese. Such a refreshing salad. Thank you!
You’re welcome! I’m happy you enjoyed that!
Yes! I was even thinking feta would be yummy on it, too!
Hello Natasha! I can’t wait to try this recipe. I was wondering what brand of scraper do you use? I’ve noticed it in many videos including the Best Ever Guacamole video. It has a black plastic handle and metal half moon shape bottom.
Hi Lakesha, I hope you enjoy this! You can see the kitchen tools that I use here in my Amazon affiliate shop.
I’m making this for dinner tonight. Looks like it will be amazing and I’m looking forward to it. I only wish the “serving size” was a little more realistic.
Hi Cindy! Thank you so much for that feedback!
Can i leave the rest of this salad for tomorrow? Will it stay fresh?
Hi Angela, I think that could be stored for a few days but we usually enjoy it fresh. The dressing will keep well in the fridge for 5-7 days and we usually use it up in that time.
How about chicken and dumplings
I haven’t tried that combo yet but sounds like a good idea. Please share with us how it goes!
Making this salad for my daughter and son in law for supper tonight.. Can’t wait to taste it with them..Smells and looks amazing.. Thank you Natasha
Sounds like a great plan. I hope they like and enjoy it!
Ok do you have a secret for picking out avocados? Yours always look perfect.
Hi Tammy, the best description I found was on google here’s what I found “If the avocado yields to firm gentle pressure you know it’s ripe and ready-to-eat. Ripe, ready to eat avocados may have a darker color but color can vary so it is best to go by feel as well as color. It will feel lightly soft but it will not feel “mushy” to the touch. Ripe fruit is perfect for that day.” I hope this is helpful!
Hi, I love this salad, but can you tell me where you got your fabulous server bowl?
Hi Gabi, Everyone seems to love that bowl! It is Sur La Table Brand.
I love this recipe it’s one of my favorites. I was wondering if I could turn it into a meal prep. Keep the dressing on the side ect. Any suggestions
Hi Kaytee! I bet that could work! I do worry the avocado will turn brown without the dressing. The dressing will keep well in the fridge for 5-7 days and we usually use it up in that time.
I made this a couple nights ago and it was DELICIOUS! I had to omit the avocado because mine was not ripe, but it was still wonderful!
I am so glad that you loved this salad, Joy. I hope you enjoy every recipe that you try!
I made it for dinner tonight and it was delicious!
I’ve been silently watching on your YouTube channel and this is the first recipe of yours that I tried/made. For sure I’ll be trying out your other recipes now.
Jane
That’s just awesome Jane! I’m so glad you’re enjoying our recipes! Thank you for that wonderful review!

You’re welcome, Nicoletta! I’m so happy you’re enjoying this recipe!
The scoop you used for removing the mango from the peeling – what would you call it in order to order one? Thanks!
Hi Debra that is a fruit scoop from OXO brand.
Hi Debra, we have it in our Amazon Shop HERE if you’d like it. It’s a fruit scoop.
Do you have a cookbook??
Hi Katie, we don’t yet but it is in our goals for the future. I have begun working on one.
Do you have a cookbook??
Hi Katie, I am working on a cookbook. I’ll make sure to share it with everyone when it’s ready.
Made your Chicken Mango Avocado salad last night. Excellent! Left out the cilantro because my wife doesn’t care for it. I especially liked the dressing – a very light, tasty accent.
That is so great to hear, Norman. Thank you for sharing that with us!
Hi Natash:
Thank you for all ur delicious recipes. QQ about the vinegar. Can I substitute the apple cider vinegar with rice vinegar?
Hi Lotrien, I haven’t tested that to advise.
Hi Natasha I have a question , i want to make this salad but the problem is I am allergic to honey . Can I substitute brown sugar or stevia ?
Hi Rabia, I haven’t really tried using brown sugar or stevia yet. You can try that substitute or omit the honey if you can’t have it. If you do an experiment, please share with us how it goes.
Cannot stop eating this salad!! I made this today but didn’t have enough mango. I added some fresh peaches to it, still delicious! I think this dressing can make anything delicious tho!
That’s so great, Maggie! It sounds like you have a new favorite!
Hi Natasha! This is a great recipe, I’ve made it 3 times now and love it every single time! I do always have leftover dressing like you said, so I was wondering, what other ways do you use up your leftover dressing??
Hi Kristen, the dressing will keep well in the fridge for 5-7 days and we usually use it up in that time.
Hi Natasha! I made this salad and it was delicious! Can you please share the link to the fruit scoop you use? Thanks so much!
Thank you, Rebeca. We link the scoop here in our Shop.
Oh, I am in heaven! This was EXCELLENT! So, delicious!
The combination of sweet mango, grilled chicken, cilantro, onion…ohhh..I will be making more!
I did not have the apple vinegar, so I put lemon juice instead and it still came out very yummy and super healthy! Thank you
I’m so happy you liked this recipe Nataliia! Thank you so much for sharing that with me!
Made this salad without the chicken to make it a little lighter for lunch and it was still delicious and very filling! Will definitely make again!
That is great to hear, Kristen. Thanks for sharing that with us and for giving this recipe an excellent review!
Hi Natasha can I make this with some smoked chicken breast ?is it ok if I just shred them and microwave instead of marinating it? And can I do without the avocados? Any replacement for it?
Hi, I haven’t tried this with smoked chicken breast so I’m not sure how those flavors would meld with the rest of the salad. You can omit the avocados if you prefer to leave them out or don’t have them on hand and the salad will still work well.
Had a mango, had an avocado, needed supper! Got this when I searched. Had no lettuce so turned it into a rice/quinoa bowl! Also had a cooked beet and some goat cheese and tossed them in! Thank you for the inspiration for a very delicious meal for 1 during this!
You’re very welcome, Marsha! I’m so happy you enjoyed this recipe!
I’ve been wanting to make this for some time now and finally did it. It was amazing. So fresh! Exactly what we needed during this quarantine time. We didn’t have any apple cider vinegar so we substituted with lemon juice and it was delicious. Thank you!
That’s so great! Thank you for that wonderful feedback, Ali!
Can we substitute Salmon for the chicken?
Hello Liliy! I have not personally tried that yet but I imagine it should be alright too. Please share with us how you liked that version if you give it a try!
Wonderful salad and dressing. Added some lemon juice to the dressing.
That’s so great! Thank you for sharing that with me, Sandy!
This is by far one of the bets salads! Also this is the BEST salad dressing I have ever tasted. I’m in love! I keep making the dressing daily. It’s so much healthier than store bought and is approved on my low sugar/ low glycemic diet. How long can I store the dressing for? Does it have to be refrigerated?
Hi Samantha! I’m so glad you found a favorite on our blog. I think that could be stored for a few days but we usually enjoy it fresh. Enjoy!
I cannot express enough how great this salad was. I took it to a potluck and everybody was thrilled
by how gorgeous it looked and even more amazed when they tasted it! There were many other salads but this was the first one gone.
That’s so great Yuri! Just like you, I love how gorgeous this salad is. People always love it at potlucks. Thank you for that awesome review.
Awesome chicken salad with the dressing. I didn’t add the salt or Honey due to health reasons and was still a top meal. No use sending you a picture as its looks just like your. Love your videos but I always have to take out the salt lol I hope you have sodium free and very low cholesterol videos or recipes or other similar meals
Thank you so much for sharing that with me.
This along with your Cobb salad look amazing! I’ve been winter deprived if salads and am torturing myself by watching. OK I need the link to your meat thermometer and salad spinner please. I have bought a few and they are lousy. TIA
Suzzette MacKay
Hi Suzzette, this is our absolute favorite Salad Spinner here. Also, our favorite meat thermometer is pinned in the recipe or you can find it here.
I love all your salad.
Thank you for the feedback!
Your recipes are always best! I didn’t have some of the ingredients for this salad so I substituted them with kiwi (instead of mango), scallions, spring mix and I used whole roasted leftover chicken. The salad was the best meal of the day.!!
That’s just awesome!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review, Greta!
I loved this salad! Where did you get that fruit scoop from the video?
Hi Allison, great question. We have it linked in our shop here.
Thank you!!
Perfect! Better than Cheesecake Factory was the compliment I got for an impromptu lunch. Swapped mango for apples since they were in season and so delicious. It makes a great presentation.
Hi Nina! Thank you for the wonderful feedback! Your swap sounds delicious!
Yummy, Yummy, Yummy! Another winner. This salad is so inviting with all the different beautiful colors of the fruit and vegetables. Most of all, those flavors all tasted so good together. Thank you!
You’re welcome! I’m so glad you enjoyed this recipe, April!
I fell in love with this salad I started to eat more healthier and on diet I follow you on FB love to always see my feed with your post. That’s so great, Ruth! Thank you so sharing that with all of us!
hi Natasha
i have a doubt in this recipe the chicken whcih we need to use that should be boiled / or pan fried in case i have to make it as a veg dish i can substitute with paneer /tofu ? nd the mustard which one did you use
I have not tested that with Tofu but I imagine it may work. We used this mustard here. I hope that helps.
ya sure . l make it one of the days
thanks .
Dnko not like Clintro do you need to use it for this salad??
You are welcome to omit it, Jean! Some of our readers have replaced it with parsley or dill. I hope that helps.
Hi Natasha, I was wondering what your favorite salad spinner is. This salad looks delicious and can’t wait to try it.
Hi Carol, our favorite is this OXO Salad Spinner.
Hi Carol, this is our absolute favorite Salad Spinner here.
I mean salad
Great recipe worked really well – I just added some tinned chick peas for a little extra body. Dressing worked really well.

Hi Sharon, I don’t see why not. I hope you love this recipe!
I made the chicken mango salad. It was amazing. My family and I have joined a gym and this a a once a week salad for us. Thank you Natasha!!!!! We love your food

How long does the salad last in the refrigerator?
Hi Rosia, it never lasted long enough for us to store but it should be good for a day or two.
My family loved it!! Thank you!
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I made the salad and it really was excellent.
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with us!

That pop of flavor from adding the mango is out of this world delicious! Such a great summer salad!
Isn’t it the best! Thank you for that great review, Jen!
What a fantastic salad recipe, Natasha! Full of flavour yet light and filling. We loved it!
That’s so awesome Julia! I’m so happy you enjoyed that!
This is everything a gourmet salad should be, and then some! Can’t wait to enjoy this for dinner tonight!
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for sharing your great review!
This salad is so colorful and sounds really flavorful. It’s definitely a step above plain old greens.
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for sharing your great review!
I was wondering about your blueberry varenyky. Can you freeze them. And if you can when before you cook them or before,
Hi Corinne, Are you referring to these? But Yes they are freezer friendly. Dust generously with flour and arrange them in a single layer on a baking sheet and put in the freezer. Once they’re frozen, transfer them to a large Ziploc bag and freeze. Also, when you are ready to cook them, place them into boiling water directly from the freezer. Do not thaw. Frying them post boil sounds like it may work!
So delicious 😋! Where did you get your white salad bowl from?
Everyone seems to love that bowl! It is Sur La Table Brand.
Natasha, this salad looks great! Will be making it soon. Could you, please, share where your salad bowls are from. Love them!
Hi Natalie, I purchased the large bowl from Sur La Table.
Hey Natasha, this salad looks amazing! is there anything I could use instead of the Dijon mustard? Thanks
Hi Olga, I haven’t tried any substitutions. I think it would still be good without the dijon, just as a vinaigrette, but we do love the extra layer of flavor that dijon adds.
As there will only be 2 of us for Christmas lunch this year, I am not going to do the big feast. I am going to have this special salad for Christmas lunch followed by a very special cheesecake recipe that I have made several times….
That sounds lovely, Maria! Merry Christmas!
Looks so delicious 😋. Can’t wait to try it! Where did you get your salad bowl from?
Hi Jasmine, the large salad bowl is from Sur La Table.
Can we make it few days before as a mealprep? How can we preserve avocado and mango for few days? Love ur receipes
I think that could be done. We usually enjoy it fresh. Lemon juice helps preserve avocados. Enjoy!
Hi Natasha
I tried out this recipe and it turned out fantastic. Plus it was very easy to make and thanks for including the dressing too.
When mangoes are not in season or unavailable, what would you say about substituting it with 4-6 slices of pineapple?
Hi Ian! Thank you for the wonderful review. I haven’t tried it with pineapple but it sounds delicious! Please let me know how you like it if you experiment
Hi Natasha, We marinate chicken thigh fillets overnight in whole egg mayo, garlic and mango chutney. BBQ, then serve them over a lettuce, tomato, avocado salad. This is our warm chicken salad. very popular in summer.
That sounds soooo good! Thank you for sharing that process with us!
I really, really want to try this salad. However, the chances of the mangoes on my counter, and the avocados on my counter both becoming ripe at the time … an ongoing challenge!
Hi Chris good point! When I’m planning for this salad, I try to buy mangos and avocados of similar ripeness (if possible) 🙂 You can also help avocados ripen faster by putting them in a paper bag with a banana or apple. You can do the same with a mango. They release ethylene gas which makes fruit ripen faster and trapping it in a bag with other fruits that release ethylene will speed up the process 🙂
Any suggestions for a replacement for the chicken? This salad looks really good but I’m a vegetarian. I could leave it out, but then there’s less protein so it’s not a great meal salad.
Hi Hilary, what about chickpeas or quinoa – those might work well. You might also experiment with different mild cheeses.
I made this dish last night for my wife and son it was gone in about 15 minutes, Was awesome thank you Natasha!!
Yay, I’m glad to hear how much they love the recipe. Thanks for sharing your awesome review John!

This is the best salad I have ever had. I just made it for my dinner tonight. Healthy ingredients and tasty dressing. love it so much!!! thanks Natasha! 🙂
My pleasure Lydia! I’m glad the recipe is a big favorite of yours! Thanks for sharing your excellent review!
Made this last night without chicken, i used cold-pressed sunflower oil and lemon juice instead of apple cider. I also used baby spring mix instead of romaine lettuce (that’s what i had). Everything else is perfect! Thank you!
I’m happy to hear the recipe was a success! Thanks for sharing your great review with other readers Cher!
I am in love with this salad. I added some shredded carrot and toasted coconut to the ingredients because I had them on hand. The combination of flavors are perfect and the dressing is amazing. See myself making this all summer with some grilled chicken. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome Nora! I’m glad this recipe is a favorite for you. Thanks for sharing your fantastic review!
Hey Natasha what kind of Honey Vinaigrette Dressing are you using ?
Hi Lila, It is a homemade honey vinaigrette dressing. I have the full list of ingredients in the recipe card towards the end of the recipe post. I hope you LOVE it! 🙂
Looks like a great and healthy salad idea!! Adding to the dinner list for the next week. I thought you’d want to know that there are some mistypes in the recipe like tmatoes and thinkly sliced 🙂
I hope you love the recipe Alena! Thanks for the heads up on the grammar, it’s been fixed! 😉
This is a typical type of salad I often make all the time. We can be flexible to mix many leftovers in the fridge also xD And it’s always yummy and healthy!!
It sure is! I’m glad you enjoy these types of recipes as much as I do Natalie!
