The Mr. and I made a goal to purposefully use more seasonal fruits and veggies this year. We’ve been coming up with all kinds of ways to use up the peaches from mom’s tree.
We re-visited and updated the Peach apricot crumble recipe, you probably saw the lattice peach pie, and now this. Although there weren’t a ton of them, the peaches seemed extra big and super juicy this year. They were delicious in this salsa.
I like that peach salsa is a little less acidic than a regular tomato salsa. Not only is it delicious as an appetizer with tortilla chips, it’s also really good as a topping for fish or pork; who would have thought?
Ingredients for Peach Salsa
1 lb tomatoes, diced
1 bell pepper (4 oz), seeded and finely diced
2 jalapenos, seeded and finely diced
1 medium onion, finely diced
1 1/2 lbs peaches, diced
1/2 bunch cilantro, chopped
2 Tbsp lime juice
1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper or to taste
How To Make Fresh Peach Salsa Recipe:
1. Chop tomatoes and transfer them to a large bowl (yep, thats the Vidalia Chop Wizard; it made this salsa so easy!).
2. Finely chop seeded bell pepper and jalapeños. Finely chop onion and transfer all your veggies to the bowl.
3. Dice the peaches. I liked the slightly larger dice for peaches to give them more of the center stage in this salsa. No need to peel them. You won’t notice the peels and the color is prettier with the peel on. Transfer peaches to your bowl.
4. Add 1/2 bunch Chopped cilantro, 2 Tbsp lime juice, 1 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. Add more salt and pepper to taste if desired. Fold everything together until well mixed and enjoy with your favorite tortilla chips or serve with fish or pork.

What’s your favorite salsa?
Super easy recipe! Very flavorful refreshing salsa with a kick. I added orange bell peppers, dab of vinegar and sprinkle of sugar for a bit more tanginess. Thank you again for the recipe !!!
Alex, thank you the great review and great job on improvising :).
Serving is 6-8. 6-8 what?? measurement wise
It should make about 4 cups of salsa, so 8 (1/2-cup) servings.
This was so easy (used my Cuisinart food processor) and yummy!!! We just ended up eating this salsa with chips for dinner, thankfully I made a double batch! Whole family loved it. Thanks for sharing…looking forward to checking out your other recipes.
Blessings from AZ!
I’m so happy you all enjoyed it. We’ve made this at least 5 times in the past couple of weeks as my Mom has some very good peaches this year 🙂
just finished making this and it is a fantastic fresh snack. Have you tried canning it ?
We just at a batch of it tonight too! I haven’t tried canning it. I wonder if it needs a little more acidity to preserve it though. To be honest, my husband and I always wolf down an entire batch between the two of us in one sitting and we always want more! 😉
I made this and loved it . Will be posting my version later will definitely link it back here. Thanks.
I’m so glad to hear that! Thanks 🙂
Looks so colourful. Me and my husband are on a veggie and fruit diet these days. This sill be a great help now 🙂
Thanks
Anukampa
Thank you Anukampa, I can’t wait till peach season again. My parents have 3 peach trees :).
This recipe sounds amazing!! I’m planning on making it this weekend for a BBQ. I have a friend who can’t have cilantro. Can I make it with flat leaf parsley instead? Thank you for your help!
I think parsley would work or just omit it altogether.
Thank you for your help! And responding so quickly!!
I loved this recipe! I added it to my peach recipe roundup! http://indieogdenutah.com/2014/08/25/15-ways-to-use-your-utah-peaches/
Thank you so much! 🙂
How long will the salsa keep? I am having a cookout this Sat. but wanted to make this today (Thursday).
Mary, it’s best fresh. If you’ll make it now, it will be more juicy by Saturday but it still will taste good :).
Perfect!
Made this amazing salsa for my husband’s potlock at work yesterday… My husband said the salsa got at least 10 compliments and several ppl asked for the recipe 🙂 so im giving them your website 🙂 thank u very much for such special recipe! I added 1 mango and used red onions instead….
God bless you and your hard work!!!
I love you additions! Yum! Thank you so much for sharing my blog with your friends. I sure appreciate that :-). God bless you too!
Awesome recipe! For some reason I wasn’t a big fan of fruit in salsa, but this recipe changed my mind. The only reason why I even tried the recipe was because your pictures of the salsa look so amazing. I’ve already made it several times and have served it at my husband’s birthday party paired with baked salmon. Everyone was raving about this salsa. This recipe is another keeper!;) Thanks Natasha!!
Awesome :), I always love to hear a good report Ani :).
This is a perfect salsa!!! I haven’t tried peach salsa yet, it’s on my list♥¸.•*´¯*♥
I hope you LOVE it!
I love fruit salsa! Just until recently, I’ve been making a ton of tropical fruit salsa, using mangoes, cantaloupes, pineapples, any other tropical fruit I could find. I can only imagine how well peaches would go in salsa. Peaches always remind me of mangoes in some ways.
Oh I didn’t think of putting cantaloupes in, but I sure do love mango salsa. Mmm. I think I’m in love with salsa in general and fruit salsas are just the cherry on top 🙂
Yum! I’ll def be making this for our summer blowout party this weekend. Thanks for the idea!
You’re welcome 🙂 hope you have an awesome party!!
Would it be better if I used a purple onion?
I haven’t tried it with purple onion but I don’t think it will make much difference. It will look prettier :).
Looks great. Thank you.
This looks delicious! I can’t wait to get my hands on some peaches this summer! (I’m in Australia)
Australia? Wowweeee!! When is peach season for you?
Peach season now in SW Victoria, Australia. Am putting together this recipe with most of the ingredients from my garden. Will add an Avocado. I’ll freeze some chopped peaches in ziplock bags for next time I’m wanting to make this lovely recipe.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Linda! You’re very welcome! I hope you love this recipe.
Looks delicious!
Thanks Vera 🙂
This salsa looks and sounds so refreshing! Yum!
It was really good. The pictures make me crave more! Food bloggers must exercise a lot of self control! My research involves lots of really good lookin’ food photos!
Love fruit salsas! This year I experimented a lot with salsas too – mango salsa, blueberry & strawberry salsa and even pineapple salsa past weekend. I don’t like “normal” salsa anymore.:)
Did you mix those fruits or were they all individual salsas. Those sound really good! Which was your favorite fruit to use?
All individual salsas. My favourite one was pineapple salsa with toasted coconut flakes.
That sounds so good! I think you could probably call it an appetizer or dessert! 🙂
Well, in your world I think you would serve it as a dessert, with some whipping cream on top.:)
