Cotton Candy House (New Home Update!)

If we look excited in this picture it’s because we so are!! It’s been 2 years of living with my parents since we sold our house and moving into our dream home is getting closer! I realize that I haven’t posted an update since our ground breaking announcement so here it is; our cotton candy house. We now have adorable insulation everywhere!

    Bible Verses for New House

We took these photos the other day and as we speak, the sheet rock is going up so it will look like a completely different house tomorrow! We wanted to get our scriptures on the framing before the sheetrock was placed. We went from room to room and wrote scriptures all over the place. No one will see them later but we will always know they are there ;). My husband discovered this idea on the Five Marigolds blog and we just knew we had to do it!

“But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” – Joshua 24:15

    (In our son’s bathroom)

“My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments, for length of days and years of life and peace they will add to you. Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you. Bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.” Proverbs 3:14

“It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from within you – the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. This beauty will never disappear and is worth much more to God.” 1 Peter 3:3-4

Our new home is really coming together nicely. In just a few short months, we will be moved in. It feels so surreal and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to build our dream home. My husband and I have never purchased a new car or a new house so we are completely excited about the “new house smell” and something new for our family is just a dream come true.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good.” Psalm 34:8

I hope you got some cool bible verses for a new house ideas! I’m planning to get some of these in prints to hang on the walls after we move in.

It’s so important to have these reminders of what we value most – people are people and we can get sidetracked from what’s truly important. That’s why I love holidays so much. They are all reminders of what’s truly important and give us eternal perspective of what the Lord has done for us through Jesus.

    (Siding in progress)

“You will be blessed when you come in and blessed when you go out.” Deuteronomy 28:6

I hope you enjoyed the tour of our cotton candy house! I’ve kept our baby girl away intentionally during this stage because the house literally looks like cotton candy! I think she is the only one who may have a difficult transition because she doesn’t get that this is our house. She’ll miss Grandma’s house because that is the only ‘home’ she knows.

If you have any suggestions or ideas on how to help children transition during a move, please share your Mama or Papa bear wisdom in a comment below. Thanks friends!

P.S. If you are interested in more family/lifestyle posts, see them all here.

    Loads and loads of love,

Looks so good! We are building in the spring. What type of exterior siding are you using? I can’t wait to see the rest of your house 🏠

Congrats on the house! We are building a home right now too (although ours is still just a big hole) so I totally get the excitement! And I love the idea of writing scriptures in the walls. I might just steal that idea!

I’ve heard of writing Scripture on the walls, but not specific ones to each room/area. That is so neat! I’m excited for you guys!

Love the progress, Natasha and Vadim!
I’m especially loving the Scripture, such a cute idea. We have wall decal with Scripture and inspirational phrases for our walls as well. They are such a great reminder on a daily basis.
      My favorite:
Live in such a way that those who know you, but don’t know God, will come to know God because they know you. 😊😊

Your house looks fantastic! It has been years since I have heard the term “sheet rock”. Does that mean you’re going to have real plastered finishes?

I’m not sure what real plastered finishes even are to be honest! 🙂 I’m learning about things every step of the way. We selected a kind of texture for the walls – some kind of hand texturing but I don’t know what it is called 🙂

Our son was born in my parents’ house, and we moved into a small apartment about 8 months ago, when he was 2.5 years old. I was so worried about how he would transition, but amazingly he did a GREAT job! I think the first couple weeks he just kept saying he wants to go “home” and this isn’t a “home” it’s an “apartment”! 🙂 But your cutie won’t have that argument to make, will she? I think she will do perfectly well!

Ha ha that’s funny. When we were on vacation, she said I want to go home 10 days straight morning and bedtime. Hopefully it won’t go on forever. lol 🙂 Funny thing is when we got home she kept saying it and wanted to go back to Maui! 😉
