Peaches and Cream Layered Jello Recipe (with great video tutorial!) @natashaskitchen

My sister made this jello for our recent church potluck. I loved that it wasn’t overly sweet and the cream layer in the center was so perfectly smooth. I called her right after and wrote out the recipe in detail. I knew you all would love it too. It was my favorite dessert that day.

The flavors came together really well. It’s SO EASY! With just 4 ingredients, you’ll think – “that’s it?” Yep, that’s it. 🙂 Enjoy this yummy, kid-friendly layered jello recipe. I’m just dreaming up all kinds of flavor possibilities with this. Ultra yum.

To show you all just how easy this recipe is, we’ve created a video tutorial for you 🙂

Ingredients for Peaches and Cream Jello:

2 pkgs. (6 oz each) peach jello, made according to package instructions
2 packets unflavored gelatin (2 packets = 14 grams or 1 1/2 Tbsp )
1 cup boiling hot water + 1 cup cold water
14 oz can sweetened Condensed milk
15 oz can sliced peaches, cut into 1/2″ thick slices

You will need:

Glass 9×13 casserole dish

Peaches-&-Cream-Jello

How to Make a Layered Jello:

1. Make the first peach flavored jello according to package instructions (I used 2 cups ice water for it to cool faster), pour into a 9×13″ glass pan and refrigerate until set (1-2 hrs).

Peaches-&-Cream-Jello-5

2. After the first layer of jello has been in the fridge at least 45 mins, start on your cream layer: In a medium bowl, combine 2 packets of unflavored gelatin with 1 cup boiling water and stir until fully dissolved. Stir in 1 cup cold water. Pour in condensed milk and stir with a spoon until blended. Let cream layer sit at room temp (no more than 45 min), then gently pour over your set jello layer.

Peaches-&-Cream-Jello-6

3. Once cream layer is nearly set (this takes about 5 min in the fridge), top with slices of peaches. Note: If you want the peaches to stay put in a pattern and not float up, you want to place them on the cream layer before it is fully set. Place back in the fridge to fully set.

Peaches-&-Cream-Jello-7

4. You want to start your last jello layer right after the cream layer goes into the fridge. Make the second package of peach flavored jello according to package instructions and let sit on the counter until it is room temperature (30 min – it’s faster if you use ice water) then gently pour over the top of your set peaches and refrigerate until entire jello is fully set. Note: Do not pour warm jello over the cream layer or it will start to melt and become mottled.

Hey Natasha, all your recipes are so delish! 😊 I was wondering if I were to make this, would I be able to make it the night before? I plan on making many things for our Thanksgiving celebration, and this just seems so easy and simple!

Yes, absolutely! You could make this the night before or even 3 days before if using canned peaches. The only time you shouldn’t make it too much in advance is if you are using fresh fruit.

My S-i-L made it the other day, following your recipe. Everyone, kids and adults, really liked it!
I wonder how fresh peaches would work instead of canned? Having too many peaches on hand 🙂

Luda, fresh peaches would work as well, just peel off the skins and cut them thin enough to be fully submerged. Hope this helps and thank you for the great review :).

Made this jello and it was delicious, great for hot summer day. The only thing is that those 3 layers seemed to fall apart easily. The jello is nice and firm but they just come apart. Is it the same case with u or I’m doing something wrong?

I didn’t really have that problem and I’m not sure why that would be. Did you let the jello set completely and also make sure you don’t add too much water to the jello. I hope thats helpful.

      Hi Natasha,
I made this jello but had the same problem as Oksana: 3 layers seemed to fall apart easily. I’m not sure what was done wrong as I followed each step. Thanks!

The only thing I could think of is to add a little less water to the jello next time to get a firmer jello. Also, sometimes if there is extra liquid on the peaches, it can cause the jello to be a little looser. I hope that helps.

Do you think this would work with a graham cracker crust on the bottom (like the kind you use for cheesecakes?)I don’t know if the cream layer would soak through the crust.

Or would it maybe work with the sponge cake from your raspberry jello cake recipe? I’d like to try it with a cake or crust on the bottom but with that condensed milk cream layer (that sounds really yummy.) Thanks!

Again, you would want to put the white layer over the cake layer if you wanted to do it that way. If you poured on the peach Jell-O right over the cake layer, it would just soak it up before it had a chance to cool. The white layer is thicker so it should not be absorbed as easily into the cake layer. I hope that makes sense. let me know how it goes and I do hope you post a picture somewhere so I can see it.

It’s possible that it may work if you put the cream layer down right after the Chrome layer and make sure to spread it all the way to the edges. If the peach Jell-O touches the graham cracker crust, it would turn soggy. It’s a little risky, but I think it could work if you did it carefully.

I will definitely make this; it’s just like a Dreamsicle, my fave ice cream bar! I make an Apricot gelatin salad using apricot Jello (duh!), cream cheese, crushed pineapple and mashed, canned apricots. The recipe calls for apricot baby food, which is no longer made! My adult daughters require this for Thanksgiving dinner.

To be honest, I’m not sure how it would work with soy milk instead of condensed milk since they are so different in taste, sugar content and consistency. Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you 🙁

Years ago my Mother’s sister did the same, but used sour cream, I fell in love…whenever I would make individual jello for the kids, I always made sure there was sour cream in frig for me, and cool whip or reddi-whip for every one else. This is an old favorite…

Ooh sour cream sounds nice! Are there any other substitutions when using sour cream and is it the same amount as the condensed milk? I bet it gives a nice tang.

Peach jello is our family’s favorite flavor. It’s so easy to make and I always have it when we have guests over and everyone loves it. I’ve never bought the peaches from Costco before I just usually buy the big Dole cans of them in heavy syrup and add the syrup into the jello for flavor. Can’t wait to try it your way with the cream layer!

Made this twice already, first was peach and second time made raspberry jello with raspberries which turned out amazingly delicious. But noticed both times that the jello layers are not as firm as I wanted-I used 2 hot cups and 2 cold cups so next time I will try using less water. The white part is firmer then the jello layers but I want it to be about the same. But thats just something I prefer 😉
        Thanks for awesome recipe!
