Hi Natasha, I love all your recipes! I was wondering if you have a smetannik recipe? Thank you !!!
Hi Veronica, I do not have a Smetannik recipe specifically but we do have this sour cream poppy seed cake.
Hello, Natasha. I have seen a Russian cookie (?) that has a filling with pastry wrapped around it. It looks like a rose. Can you tell me what type of filling is used in it and do you have a recipe for it? Thanking you in advance!
Hi Joycene, I have a couple of meringue based cookies that it could be. Click here to explore our meringue cookies recipes.
yummy
Hi Natasha, You recently posted a recipe for fudge. Unfortunately, I did not print it. Can you help me find it? Thanks, Linda
Hi Linda, the most recent chocolate-like recipe that I posted was my vanilla and chocolate mousse, but I don’t have any fudge recipes. I do have chocolate truffles but it’s not really fudge. Maybe you are thinking of another blog?
Hi Natasha! Do you by any chance have recepie for zapikanka( from tvorog cheese) ? I made it before but it was not soft, so mainly I guess I’m looking for those clues:)
Hi Katie, I do have one. Here it is: https://natashaskitchen.com/2013/10/26/farmers-cheese-chocolate-cake/
Hi Natasha! Thank you so much for your amazing recipes! My Indian husband can finally enjoy Russian food (that doesn’t revolve around borsht :D). I was wondering if you have that recipe for zapikanka? You noted in 2013 that it was on your “to-do” list.
Thank you!!!
Im so glad you are enjoying the blog! Is this what you are looking for? https://natashaskitchen.com/2013/10/26/farmers-cheese-chocolate-cake/
Hi Natasha, you have best of the best recipes in world!!!
You make my life alot better with your sweetness.
You are so sweet 🙂 Thank you so much for your nice comment 🙂
Have you ever tried making scones?
Yes 🙂 I am going to do a guest post of strawberry scones next month. I’ll make sure to share it on my blog also. They were so yummy! I love scones. 🙂 Why do you ask?
Same!! I absolutley love them and i wanted to make some and since your recipes make ordinary foods taste AMAZING i was hoping you would do them and you are yay!!!! 🙂
Karina, you’re so sweet 🙂 Thank you. You just made my night! Have a blessed week!
Natasha, thank you so much for posting these amazingly delish recipes!! I have tried making your borsch recipe and it turned out amazing!!!! I’m going to try your strawberry layer cake recipe next because it looks so delish!!!!
You’re gonna love it! It’s one of my favorites! 🙂
hey can you put up a recipe for blinchiki?
Lily, I do have quite a few different recipes of blinckiki under Breakfast Category. Let me know if that helps.
Some of your recipes do not show up – I cannot find that raspberry mousse cake recipe or the Greek yogurt cupcakes with blackberry frosting. I am afraid I am missing other recipes as well. I can look them up in the search bar, but they do not appear on the “desserts” page. Is there a way to fix this? By the way, thank you for sharing your recipes – they are all amazing!
Thank you for noticing that Tania, looks like couple of them “slipped through the cracks” :). I added Raspberry Mousse Cake and Greek Yogurt Cupcakes to “Dessert” page. If you see anything else not showing up, please let me know.
You are such an amazing cook/baker 🙂 i love your amazing recipies!!
I guess that makes me a “cooker” 🙂 Lol. Thank you for your sweet compliment.
Natashka I was just wondering do you have any recipes for scones?
I just got a recipe from a friend. So I’m in the development stages 🙂
Saw a picture of your nutrolls. Is there a recipe?
What did they look like? I can’t think of any nut rolls…
Loved the recipes is: Korolevsky Cake, Wafe Cake, Russian Cake…. am planning
on having dinner party… Russsian Themed in honor of the Olympics in Socchi.
How fun! I’m so glad you’re enjoying the recipes 🙂
Dear Natasha,
Thank you for sharing all those wonderful recipes! The accompanying images look very appetising. I wonder whether you have a recipe for Ukrainian waffles or baked wallnuts dough (gorishky /oreshki). I have tried many recipes but the waffles become soft after 20-30 min. As I remember trying some waffles in Ukraine they were crunchy for quite a while.
Thank you.
I do not have a Pizzelle maker so it might be a while before I post a recipe for waffles. I just received gorishky maker so I will have to get to work on that.
I will be looking forward to it! Thank you. I will browse the UK web for gorishky maker as well 🙂
Thank you Natasha . One question when I make pavlova and put cream and fruit on it do I refrigerate it ? Or does it have to be eaten right away ? Will it become soggy ?
It’s best to assemble just before serving. You can prep everything a day ahead, keep the pavlovas at room temp covered with plastic wrap once they are cooled down and refrigerate cream. They are really easy to assemble and that way the cream won’t soften your pavlovas at all. 🙂
Hi Natasha do you happen to have recipe for pavlova cake ? I never made it before and heard it’s pretty good would love to make it .. Thank you 🙂 I love your blog !!#1
Thanks Natalya and I do have a pavlova posted: https://natashaskitchen.com/2012/02/11/pavlova-recipe/
I also have an entire cake made out of meringue so it’s like a triple layer pavlova 🙂 https://natashaskitchen.com/2012/04/04/boccone-dolce-cake-recipe/ Thank you for your sweet words 🙂
With spring and Easter coming up, I’m searching high and low for a good lemon cake. Any ideas?
Oooh lemon cake. That sounds nice. Like a pound cake or just a regular cake that is lemony?
Жалко что рецепты не на русском языке.
I’m pretty sure no one would be able to read them if I tried to write them out in Russian. Sorry 🙁 have you tried google translate?
These are wonderful desserts! I’m having a hard time deciding which one will I be trying to make this Christmas. Thanks Natasha!
You are welcome Rhodella, let me know which one you end up trying :).
Hi Natasha,
I was wondering if you have a recipe for монастырская изба(трубочек с вишневой на чинкой в сметане) monasterskia izba my Ukrainian boyfriend says it’s his favorite desert but I can’t find a good recipe for it. All my Ukrianian friends love your pitiche moloko so I was hoping you’d have a recipe for this Russian dessert as well 🙂
I don’t have one yet. I tried one once a couple years ago and it didn’t work at as good as I had hoped it would and I just haven’t re-visited it since. It’ll go on my list 🙂
Hi Natasha,
I was just wondering which chocolate cake recipe would be best for a kids birthday ?
Thanks for your help!
Kids LOVE the chocolate spartak. https://natashaskitchen.com/2012/10/30/chocolate-spartak-cake-recipe/ The drunken cherry cake is also very good (just take out the rum and use juice instead to soak the layers). You can also use canned cherries since fresh ones are nearly impossible to find. Or use another kind of berry or canned fruit altogether. https://natashaskitchen.com/2013/08/06/drunken-cherry-chocolate-cake/
Do you by any chance have a kartoshka recipe up your sleeve? It’s a family favorite and I’m trying to find a recipe to beat my aunt’s 😉 (biskvit, walnuts, and cognac kind)
I don’t currently, but that sounds like a fun experiment! Thanks so much for the idea. Biskvit, walnuts and cognac sound very good together!
Yea it’s delicious. Pretty much a play on the cake truffles you have on here, but it’s crumbled biskvit mixed with a bit of whipped heavy cream, chopped walnuts, simple syrup with a splash (or 2 or 3!) or cognac, shaped into mini ”potatoes” rolled in cocoa powder and topped with simple butter cream frosting dots. Guess I’ll have to stick with the family recipe this weekend! Well thank you anyways 🙂
Hey Natasha! I was wondering if you can post a video of you making the ”Ptichye Moloko Cake Recipe (Bird’s Milk Cake)” bcause thats the only way I can try any of your recipes if i see you doing it through video not pictures. I really want to try that recipe with my mom.
We’ll see if we can get something up in time for the holidays but I can’t guarantee it 🙂
Hey Natasha I love your recipes I already tried probably half of them. I was wondering if you have a recipe for the smetanik cake?
Oh no not yet, but I am going to be baking and photographing an amazing plum cake tomorrow and the cream base is sour cream. Stay tuned! 🙂
Yeah for me it’s till showing some wrong, like the Vera’s ptitche moloko and next to it is a picture of chocolate chip cookies and there is a few more
I’m not seeing anything unusual with that one. Try to “clear the cache” and clear the cookies form your internet. It might be caching something old and weird. Hope that helps. Let me know!
Natasha, not sure if you noticed but a lot of the pictures in the dessert section don’t match the name of the dessert. Not sure if its just for me or for everyone. Thought I’d let you know!
I just scrolled through them all and don’t see any mismatches. Can you point out a specific one? That seems weird, but I’m hoping it isn’t showing up that way for everyone else except me 🙂 Thanks for letting me know. I really appreciate it!! 🙂
It’s mostly the ones on the bottom. The top ones seem correct.
Hi Natasha,
just wanted to stop by and tell you how much I love your site! I am always on looking for recipes and your site is the easiest and has the best recipes 🙂 Thanks for posting all these delicious recipes my family loves them all!
I’m so glad you enjoy the site and the recipes here. Thanks for writing in. It’s so nice to hear from my readers. 🙂
Hi, i looked through your recipes and all of them look delicious. I am ukrainan so i know some of the recipes. Me and my kids want to try to bake some of your cookies.
Thanks.
Lidya
Welcome to the site Lidiya, I hope that you’ll find many favorites :).
Hello Natasha, do by any chance know of a cake named “Markiza”, it’s a chocolate layered cake?
Thanks
The only chocolate layered cake I have is the spartak. Is that the same one? https://natashaskitchen.com/2012/10/30/chocolate-spartak-cake-recipe/
do u have the recipe for the cake “den e nich” (night and day) they sell it at the Russian store..
Secretly snap picture of it next time you are there. 😉 email to me: natashaskitchen@yahoo
Natasha:
My wife and I love your website and I am able to make most of her favorite Russian recipes that she misses from home. Do you have a recipe for a honey cake?
Thanks
Bob
It’s definitely on my short list 🙂 I’ve been working on one and will definitely share when it’s perfected.
Hi Natasha,
I know Fall is just around the corner, would you be able to share with us how to make pumkin rolls?
Do you mean the cake roll?
Yes I guess you can call it a cake roll. It’s similar to your raspberry roulette but it has pumpkin and like a cream cheese filling I believe.
I was looking for a bize recipe – meringue cookies (sometimes called pavlova) sandwiched together with some kind of nut filling — i can’t find anything! Hoping you could help me 🙂
Oh my gosh that sounds good. Sadly, I don’t think I have anything like that. I have finish meringue cookies, but what you’re describing is different. If you find a good recipe, please share! 😉
I am looking for a recipe and I can’t find. I was wondering if you might have it. Sweet or desert sausage. I remember it being made with cooked sweetened condensed milk and no coco powder.
Oh I don’t yet, but I’m working on one. I think I put too much condensed milk the first time so once I’ve perfected it, I’ll definitely post it. 🙂 Thanks for the reminder!
Hi natasha! you have the best recipes, I always go to your site when im in the mood for baking or cooking. The other day I made the beef and vegetable stir fry and everyone loved it especially my dad! Anyways, I was going to ask if you have any brownie recipes, im looking for a good brownie recipe and havent found one yet. thanks in advance!
I don’t have one yet since my hubby isn’t a fan so I just haven’t experimented much with brownies. Thank you for your sweet compliments 🙂
Hi!
I really liked the description of your recipes. It looks easy and there’s a pic of almost every step. It’s amazing!
I would even like for you to make some posts into Ukrainska Gazeta with advertising your web-site or smth. We want to post some seasonal recipes every month.
But there’s one thing I’m asking myself about all the time, are you Russian?
Best regards,
Natalie
I’m from the Ukraine :).
Hey lovely, was just looking at your frosting recipe and your rosé piping video, does this frosting tend to melt or does it set instantly? Because I’m keen to make them but I don’t want it to melt half way down my cupcake. Thanks!
Frosting sets instantly, you should not have any trouble at all :).
Natasha,
my family is going camping this Saturday and I am responsible for bringing dessert for next Saturday (7/27). can you advise what would be a good dessert that could be still good after 6 days of making? perhaps a way to keep it stay fresh?
The rogaliki would work really well. Also pryaniki are a great option. Both do not need refrigeration.
Thanks. 🙂
Hey!! do you happen to have then recipe for blueberry pie I found how to make the crust but I never found out how to make the filling ??:plz help !!:}

Hello Natasha,
I’m looking for a “grafskie razvalini” recipe. Do you happen to have one?
Thanks
Hmm. My husband seems to know what that is, but I’ve never heard of it. I’ll look into it 🙂
Hey thanks so much for the awesome website! Had my dad over for Father’s Day and made your “taste like vacation” shrimp! My first time grilling shrimp and they were delicious! Had another party and made the raspberry pretzel dessert and everyone loved it! Want to try lots of your recipes, so glad to have found your site!
Ooh I coud eat those shrimp three square meals a day. But my diet won’t allow it. Aren’t they amazing? Same goes for the raspberry pretzel jello. Woah. Yum!
Hi Natasha! I can’t seem to find your recipe for chocolate “rulet” with cream and cherries filling. I thought it would be under desserts but its not… Plz help! Thanks!
Oh dear, sorry! I can’t believe we forgot to add it there. It’s being updated by my hubby as I type. Here is the link for the cake. You can find it by searching cake roll also 🙂
It would be nice if u had videos of every recipes
Someday; that would be nice! Maybe it could turn into an online cooking show! 🙂
I would watch it everyday! Lol

Hi Natasha, do you have a recipe for a cake Черепаха? My sister remembers me making it, and I don’t remember what it was at all. She said it had chocolate on top.
Hmmm, it doesn’t sound familiar, but I’ll ask around 🙂

Nastya
I do actually; a very good one :), but we haven’t done the full photography tutorial. We’re hoping to get it done in time for the holidays. My husband keeps bugging me about it…. 🙂

I thank God for your site seriously.
I’ve never made a pineapple cake, but I’ll ask my family and see if anyone has anything.
Let me know if you are still looking for this recipe. My mom makes it. Its a sponge cake soaked with syrup. The frosting is mousse like. I know it has cool whip and apricot jello and pineapple juice. Its a yummy cake and I have never seen the recipe for it anywhere online.
Oh yes please!! My email is natashaskitchen @ yahoo.com

Those do look so so good! I’ll have to try and translate the recipe! If you do discover something in English please let me know 😉
Hi Natasha,
I got the recipe for these cookies from my moms cousin. She bakes them for weddings. I would really recommend them to you. I used to make them a lot before we got sick of them. Reading this post makes me crave them again:) They really taste amazing. Soft and not too sweet. Perfect with tea.
Could you email me the recipe? Natashaskitchen @ yahoo.com 🙂
It’s been more than a year since you asked the question, but I finally posted them to my other website in Enhlush, here you go – http://letthebakingbeginblog.com/2013/10/sable-plum-butter-cookie/
Oh, yum!! Thanks so much Marina. I’m so guilty of doing the same thing; taking a year to post something. My to-do list is always growing! 😉
actually the website is called Let the Baking Begin!
crazyappetite has the recipes for them but I don’t understand it because its all in Russian and its hard to follow for me.
“песочное пирожные” they are small and round and comes with two layers with jelly in between and melted sugar on top.
Is it like a macaroon? Is this the recipe you were referring to? http://letthebakingbegin.blogspot.com/2009/03/macaroons-by-pierre-herme.html
