This lip-smacking Jambalaya is surprisingly delicious. I refilled my bowl 3 times… My sister Svetlana gave me the recipe for this wonderful Jambalaya rice pilaf. She kept telling me that kids love it! My son did love it and so did I! The ingredients are simple and the results are amazing!
Ingredients for Turkey Jambalaya:
1 lb ground turkey
1 box creamy four cheese Rice-A-Roni
1 small onion, finely diced
1 can cream-style corn
3 garlic cloves, pressed
4 strips bacon, sautéed, drained and diced
1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash seasoning
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
4 Tbsp olive oil
How to Make Turkey Jambalaya:
1. Cook Rice-A-Roni according to instructions on the package.
2. Place a large skillet over medium/high heat. Add 4 Tbsp olive oil and 1 lb ground turkey. Season with 1/2 tsp Mrs. Dash seasoning, 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper. Saute turkey until fully cooked, breaking it up with a spatula.
3. Add onion and saute another 3 to 5 minutes, or until onion is soft.
4. Add pressed garlic and saute 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
5. Sautee 4 strips of bacon, place bacon on paper towels to soak up excess fat, then chop into small pieces.
6. Add drained corn (cream-style corn is difficult to drain, so just drain the best you can. You still want it to be creamy so just push the lid down and drain off excess juice). Cook another 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
7. Stir in the cooked, creamy Rice-A-Roni. (note: if your rice seems dry, just add a few Tbsp hot water).
Enjoy, Enjoy!!

Hi, Natasha.Love your site! This dish looks so good.I’d like to try this recipe. Can I use something else instead of Rice-A-Roni,like maybe Orzo or just a rice?
I’m sure you could! I haven’t experimented, but I imagine you’d have to make some kind of cheesy sauce to go with it or it would be dry. I’ll have to think about it. I might try to remake this in the future with something different.
I just made this with regular rice I cooked on the side then added heavy whipping the mix and some cheese ! Turned out soo good
So easy and so delicious! I substituted ground chicken instead of turkey and it came out so yummy! Thanks again! 🙂
Cant wait to make this for my family! Thank you Natasha!!!!!!!
What a fun, simple meal!
Heh, I feel like I should know this but is Rice-A-Roni pasta that’s shaped like rice? I just had this amazing “paella” at a restaurant in NY last week that used pasta instead of rice. It was to die for and this one looks just like it 🙂
Orzo is probably what you are thinking of. It’s a pasta shaped like rice. Hope that helps 🙂
Made this today, everyone loved it, especially my 3 year old daughter! Thanks again for an awesome recipe!
