Below is a list of 20 groceries that we consistently buy at Costco. We stick to these items because we love the quality, quantities (not ridiculously huge packages), taste and definitely prices!

I’m sharing our local Costco prices – these probably vary somewhat by state. PS. Costco did not pay me to write this post. My love of Costco propels me to share and I myself love lists like these for discovering new treasures :).

Below is a list of 20 things that we always buy at Costco. We love the quality, quantities, taste and prices of these great Costco deals! | natashaskitchen.com

    Costco Staples:

    1. You can’t beat a 40 pack of Kirkland Signature water for $2.99.

    2. Organic Tortilla Chips ($4.69) – I love the taste and texture of these. We go through 1 bag/week on spicy guacamole and roasted tomato salsa sprees!

    Costco Haul Roundup-8

    3. We buy these hot cups ($9.39 for 200) in winter and clear cups in winter, plus the lids ($14.39 for 1200). We rarely go out for coffee but it’s nice to feel like we do. lol.

    4. Jumbo Reynolds heavy duty foil – this double pack lasts for ever! Its so sturdy and perfect for grilled corn and every recipe that calls for foil. ($13.69 for 2 huge rolls).

    Baking and Cooking:

    Costco Haul Roundup-12

5 & 6. I get all of my cooking oils at Costco including: avocado oil ($8.89 for 1 L), extra light olive oil ($18.99 for two 2L) and extra virgin olive oil ($11.99 for 2 L). We go through these like crazy but for normal people, these cost-effective bottles will last awhile. I love to fry foods in my extra light olive oil because it doesn’t give off that “fried food” smell.

    Costco Haul Roundup-14

    7. Walnuts are priced well ($9.99 for 3 pounds)

    8. You can’t beat a 2 lb bag of Organic Chia Seeds for $7.49.

    Costco Haul Roundup-13

    9. Sweetened Condensed Milk ($8.99 for a pack of 6)

    10. Honey! I love that they carry a wild raw LOCAL honey at our Costco ($9.89 for 40 oz)

    11. From the spice aisle we buy Kirkland brand everything: sea salt ($2.79), pepper corns for the grinder and cinnamon.

    Costco Haul Roundup-15

    12. Mayo – how do I love you, let me count the ways (don’t judge me). Have you even seen our list of mayo-containing recipes? #ridiculous ($4.99 for 64 oz)

    13. Pickles – if you know me, you understand my love of pickles and I’m sad that we only have 6 pickle recipes. ($4.39 for two 33.8 oz jars)

    DAIRY at Costco:

    Costco Haul Roundup-10

    14. Mozzarella is always hanging out in our fridge. Costco has the best price that I’ve found ($3.89 for 2 lb)

    15. We keep this giant bag of parmesan in the freezer and refill a small container in the fridge as needed ($10.99 for a 3 lb)

    Costco Haul Roundup-9

    16. $5.69 for 2 (32 oz each) tubs of Greek yogurt is a steal! We use this for our typical breakfast; topped with homemade granola and berries.

    17. I bake alot and love the quality of Raskas Cream Cheese. It works perfectly for my blueberry or raspberry apricot cheesecakes ($5.99 for 48 oz)

    Produce at Costco:

    Costco Haul Roundup-5

    18. Their watermelon prices are generally on the lower end and 90% of the watermelon’s we’ve purchased at Costco taste really good. Maybe it’s due to my amazing watermelon knocking skills… maybe not 😉 ($4.99 each)

    Costco Haul Roundup-6

    19. The produce we get there varies by season but during winter, we buy their Romaine lettuce ($3.49)

    20. and baby cucumbers ($4.99).

Other Things to Buy at Costco:

It’s really hard to leave Costco without hitting the snack and cookbook aisles. We always go home with a treat :).

    Healthy Choices at Costco:

I kid, I kid. Don’t go anywhere, we don’t EVER buy spam. lol.

We’re hooked on using the Fooducate App (Officially called “Weight Loss Coach by Fooducate – Personalized…” So just search Fooducate in the app store. Once in the app, click: “Food Finder” to initialize the barcode scanner). I always use it at the grocery store, especially with products that are new. You scan the products barcode and it provides a health food rating with explanations to defend their ratings.

These sausages didn’t make the cut. I’ve been spared from unknowingly consuming hidden MSG and other products with unhealthy ingredients.

I just joined Costco last year. Love it!!! I also love the Fooducate App. Great choices. I’m a pickle lover too but I like the mini ones. Need to get there soon before they are gone. One thing though….PLEASE consider buyer reusable cups for your water and coffee. The plastic bottles are horrible for our children’s future and it’s nice to see you are buying paper cups for coffee instead of styrofoam but still a reusable cup is so much better. Buy a bunch for the whole family plus extras. Also can you add more plant based recipes or even some vegan ones. I’m not vegan…. I love honey in my tea. I have cut back on meat and dairy and found my body feels better after not eating both.

After buying so many brand names of tuna fish and not liking what I was getting, someone told me to get Kirkland Brand tuna. It is the BEST tuna and I will NEVER to back to the others.

Loved your Costco List & agreed w/ most.
Learned some new items (I’ve always been a Hellmans-Best Foods Mayo guy- but will try!!).
      Would add:
      1-Coarse & Fine Pepper
      2-Prunes- they’re large & luscious
      3-Cling Wrap – the best
4-Cheater Roasted Chickens- I put them in a 200F oven for 90-120min, take out remove the meat & pack in 1 pd bags for later, save the bones for homemade stock, oh YEA!! that’s a few additions!!!!
BUT why are you so condemning of SPAM—properly prepared it can be AMAZING. Come on over to our place & I’ll prove it!!
HA, but I will……. ok, so I don’t have it much, but when I do……..

My Costco list: paper towels, toilet paper, kleenex, butter, laundry detergent, baby carrots, batteries, organic strawberry jam, hamburger chubs (very little fat to drain off), eggs, milk and always their roasted chicken. I buy all the Kirkland brand items. And for my boys I will get a pizza, because I need to reward them for hauling all my shopping into the house. LOL!!

I love Costco also. I always get a chichen, even to use in other recipes like chicken pot pie or chicken enchiladas, and it makes the best chicken soup and stock. I also buy their Italian fresh sausage. It is very good and compares to more expensive brands. Their tuna is great as well as their glass bottled peaches. Victoria spaghetti sauce is great to have on hand when needed.

Hi Mercedes, I purchase it at Costco and I try to get the organic one when I can. I don’t typically rinse chicken breast before cooking. I do pat it dry with a paper towel though.

Hi Naty…The one that you buy when you can as you say came in separate bags ? I mean 2 chicken breast in a bag….Because the one that I buy comes like that and with a kind of preservative solution inside the bag but the color of that solution is something I never see before with other chicken breast like the one from Publix Supermarket or Wal-Mart…Okey sweety thanks again and try to answer that question for me….Sorry for so much asking …

Natasha you might want to do a bit of research on impact of consuming bottled water on health and environment. I am only suggesting this because I see that you use organic products in your cooking which means you believe in using quality products.

My husband & I don’t buy bottled water. For me it’s for 2 clearly defined reasons. The cost & I’m all about saving money when & where I can. Second is it’s effects on the environment. I have a Brita water pitcher in our refrigerator & we have metal water bottles & metal tumblers we fill with the cold water from the pitcher & take with us wherever we go. When the water is low in the pitcher I just refill it & let it filter through. I change out the filter every 2 months or so, Brita says 3 mos. but we live in AZ & in the summer with temps easily at 110 daily we drink a ton of water.

Yes the environmental damage from all those plastic bottles consumed and Thrown away by millions daily is astronomical! Take away coffee cups are the second biggest issue behind the water bottles. Think of them all in landfill, or worse thrown into the ocean which is where USA throws thousands of tons of rubbish a year. Stainless steel drink bottles and reusable coffee mugs are a much better concept. I love Costco, but am always looking for their products with the least plastic packaging. We need to reduce our levels of garbage. Love the recipes !!
