Another great one! Because of carb and veggie “issues” in the fam,
I only used 4 ounces rice noodles and added “zoodles” (spiralized zucchini) for the balance. Shhhh! Don’t tell my fussy eaters.
Excellent, healthy meal the whole family enjoyed. TY!
Sounds like you found a new favorite! Thank you for sharing your feedback with us!
Love this meal. Never had a bad meal from your recipes, keep them coming! I have a special bookmark page just for your recipes!
Awww that’s the best! Thank you so much for sharing that with me, Seth. I’m all smiles!
OMG….. Thank you so much for this healthy but delicious dish. Even my picky hubby loves it. Will be making again soon. Made a side of extra sauce just in case the noodles dried out the dish plus hubby loves the sauce.
That’s so great Patti! I’m so happy you enjoyed that!
Great recipe Natasha 🙂
I I tried this for dinner today and it turned out great! I added a few extra ingredients like garlic, spicy chili flakes and eggs but other than that I followed your recipe. .. This one is a keeper!! Thank you for sharing:)
That’s so great, Merilyn! It sounds like you have a new favorite! Thank you for that wonderful review!
Made this last night and although it was good I think it could have been better with some garlic and more ginger. My husband suggested next time to sprinkle chopped peanuts on top. I will definitely try again.
Thank you so much for sharing that with me.
Ketchup and corn starch are not Asian staples. Not sure about bell peppers. Can you provide a version without ketchup? Or all those ingredients?
Hi Sandi, I haven’t tried subbing anything for ketchup but one of my readers reported great results omitting it. Keep in mind it will likely need additional salt/seasoning (maybe more soy sauce) if you omit ketchup.
I’ve made this recipe several times with whatever vegetables I have in the fridge. This is usually broccoli, carrot, onion and red capsicum. It always turns out well. I usually amp up the ginger and squeeze some lime over before eating too. Very yummy! Even the kids like this one. Thanks for the recipe 😍
You’re so welcome! I’m so happy you enjoyed that!
I am making this tonight for my wife and I. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy it!
I left out mushrooms and added onion. Terrific! Dont think you need to add salt. Plenty in the soy.
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with us!
Hi Natasha ! Your recipes are awesome! Thanks for your humor in the videos. I’m a single dad teaching my 10 yo son to cook nutritious and tasty meals. He’s my helper for now and we are both enjoying our wonderful creations. You are a rock star in the kitchen ! Phill & Adam
I’m so inspired reading this review! Thank you for sharing that with me!!
This was delicious! We used lima beans since I forgot broccoli and skipped the sesame oil and just added extra soy since sesame oil was a little pricey and I wasn’t sure we’d go through it fast enough. Still tasted great!
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for that great review!
Really good recipe. It’s well explained. Thanks 👏👏
I’m happy you enjoyed that!
Yummyv and easy to follow
I’m so happy you enjoyed that! 🙂
Love all your receipts
Thank you, Ane.
I am 25 and a complete newbie at cooking (I know..ridiculous). I have some time off so I finally wanted to give it a shot. I came across your page and I’m SO happy I did. This recipe was so easy to follow, especially with your super clear video to along with it, and the food turned out delicious. Everyone was so impressed! Thank you very much.
A warm welcome to you! I’m so happy you discovered our blog.
My wife and I just made this and loved it. Made it as per recipe. Only thing I added was sriracha hot sauce to spice things up a bit. The sesame oil was a great addition!
Mm I bet that heat made it that much better!!
Made this tonight, used rice noodles for the first time ever, and I overcooked them so the dish ended up mushy. I cooked noodles last so after draining I just threw them into the veggies and added the rest of the stuff.
I agree with some of the reviews that the flavor is not the best. For me, it’s too sweet. I think next time I’ll try without ketchup, and add more seasonings during chicken frying and veggies, and add onion as well as garlic.
I have loved all the recipes I tried by you, but not this one:/
Hi Natasha, overcooking rice noodles can make all the difference in the outcome of the recipe – when the noodles are overcooked, they expand and soak up more sauce so the overall dish can end up a little dry.
Quadrupled the recipe (to have some left over for our big family a couple more times.) I sauteed some onions and then added some peppers and snap peas to the onions and separately sauteed some mushrooms. I also had a beef stock boiling on the stove so I decided to use that in place of the chicken and also cooked the noodles on that same stock. I salted and peppered the stock very well so the final product was quite flavorful. After my beef was tender, I cut it into small slices against the grain and added it to the stir fry. Very delicious!!
Btw, I used Costco’s vegan and gluten free pasta sheets (made out of brown rice) and I will definitely use those again.
Also, I read that someone commented that the pasta stuck together and I wanted to mention it’s best not overcook the pasta and also I made the sauce and poured it over the (drained) pasta and mixed it well just to separate the noodles even more before mixing in the vegetables. Hope that helps someone!
Thank you Anna! We appreciate that!!
Both my husband & I really liked this dish and it is definitely a keeper. Glad we saw this recipe. Made this tonight but was wary of the ketchup, but don’t worry you won’t notice it after everything is mixed together. I used the Birds Eye Asian Medley Mix and added some green peppers out of our gardens.
Thank you for sharing this with us, Nina!
I made this recipe for my husband, son, and two friends tonight, and it was a hit. It is delicious and healthy as well. Thanks for the easy, delicious recipe!
Thank you for sharing that with us Sharon!
Super excited to try this recipe but do I need to add ketchup? Is there a substitute?
Hi Kristen, I haven’t tried subbing anything for ketchup but one of my readers reported great results omitting it. Keep in mind it will likely need additional salt/seasoning (maybe more soy sauce) if you omit ketchup.
I’m planning to make this dish tonight, but in order to replace the peppers, I will add celery, bok choy, onions, and garlic. Also, I have tofu to add. Looking forward to surprising my love. Thank you for you guys’ blog. I love recipes. Keep up the good work.
That sounds amazing! I’d love to hear how you liked it with those changes!
Hi. Can I make this with egg noodles?
I don’t see why not! Let me know how you like it with Egg noodles!
I made a variation of this recipe and it was delicious! I had to sub a few things and make do but it came out great. I used some crushed garlic while sautéeing the chicken. I subbed the cornstarch for arrowroot just because it’s what I had on hand. I also used broccoli, yellow squash, onion and shredded carrots for the veggies since it’s what I had. The only other thing I did differently was double the sauce mixture because I added too many rice noodles! It was great though. Thanks for the recipe!
You’re so welcome Sarah! I am so happy you enjoyed that! Thank you for leaving this great review with your changes!
I made this last night, I followed exactly all the ingredients and steps (Oh my!!! you are so clear to explain your recipes!!). Was perfect, I didn’t have to put salt, was delicious, tasty, my family loved it!!!! I was going to take a picture, but they were waiting to eat, and it went so fast, that I coudn’t take a picture!!!
Wow! Thank you for the great review Christina! I’m so happy you enjoyed that!
I made this last night & everyone loved it! I used sugar snaps instead of broccoli & low sodium soy sauce! 👍👍👍
Thanks I love following you❣️
That’s so great, Joni! Thank you for that great review!
Wonderful recipe! I just season the chicken a bit more..
But anyone else think this is more of 45 in-1 hour meal with the chopping, cooking etc?? Or am I just not that experienced of a cook yet? 😉
All I can say is wow! Amazing! Make this dish folks! Any review you read that makes you think twice just ignore! Yummmmm
Thank you for that wonderful compliment! I’m so happy to hear you enjoyed it!
What a great recipe! I cannot eat peppers or broccoli. Would substituting pea pods work? Whatcould I use in place of the peppers?
Hi Robing pea pods would work great as a substitute here. Thank you for trying our recipes 😀
Tasted yum, even though it was the first time ever, making noodles
I’m glad you enjoy the recipe! Thanks for sharing your excellent review!
I’ve made this twice now and it didn’t have the taste I was looking for. However, once it cooled down and stood in the fridge overnight, it was an amazing lunch the next day! I ate it cold without heating it up and loved the flavor and texture.
Hi Natalya, I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I love it when recipes for lunch the next day!
2 chicken breast I laugh because they can range from 6oz to over 1lb each. An experienced cook will estimate according to the other ingredients but for the novice it would be nice to put how many oz or lbs is suggested for the ratio of vegetables.
Hi Dolores, 2 chicken breasts about 8 oz each would work great 🙂
Cant wait to try it
I hope you love it Shelly! Please let me know what you think!
I made this for dinner last night for my three boys and I and I am sorry to say this is the first time one of the recipes (and I have tried and loved many) that was posted on your website got a thumbs down :- (
First of all the darn noodles stuck together despite using oil after they were cooked and I was not crazy about the overall flavor. Sorry!
Hi Linda, I wonder if maybe the type of noodles used were overcooked? This can cause them to stick together more and absorb more of the sauce.
I’m so happy I stumbled across this recipe! It was delicious and full of flavour, I didn’t have mushrooms so did it without and also added a chilli for an extra kick!
I’m glad you enjoy the recipe Jennie! Thanks for sharing your excellent review with other readers!
Tried this one evening (only thing I left out was the ketchup) and even the 2 year old ate it with no fight what-so-ever (4 little kids in my family). Loved it. we had it with wheat noodles as well as rice. Thank YOU !! Will this still be good leftover? Looking to make it and have it throughout the week but not sure how the noodles will hold up !
Hi Ben, I think this is best and juiciest when it’s fresh since the noodles soak up some of the sauce, but it can be reheated the next day 🙂
I am so happy I found your blog! I made this dish for dinner tonight. It was easy to prepare and I will definitely make it again!
I’m glad you found my page too Zahrah! I’m happy to hear how much you enjoy the recipe. Thanks for following and sharing your great review!

This recipe is delicious, very simple to make and is a full meal. so happy I’ve found it. Thank you.
You’re welcome Paulina! I’m glad you enjoy the recipe. Thanks for sharing!
I made this exactly as called for. The timing of everything and measurements. I am very disappointed. It is very bland. The only things I taste is the stir fry sauce on the noodles but the chicken and vegetables do not have any flavor. I will definitely try again but I will season my chicken with my usual go to seasoning and my veggies, I will sauté in minced garlic along with some onion for flavor. I will also add onion and garlic powder to my boiling water for the noodles. This is a 2 star recipe for me only because I did like the stir fry sauce.
Hi Ninive, I’m not sure if this helps, but sometimes if you use low sodium soy sauce, you would need additional seasoning to compensate for the lower sodium content.
I really want to make this recipe, but my bf does not like mushrooms.
Will this alter the recipe too much?
Hi Alison, we love flavor of mushrooms, but it will still work without them. One of my readers reported great results using snow peas instead and another used and loved zucchini instead 🙂
Made this tonight and it was wonderful!! If you let your chicken sit in a tablespoon or two of baking soda for 15-20 minutes and then rinse it makes the chicken very tender. Just like at an Asian restaurant!
I’m glad you enjoy the recipe Jennifer! Thanks for sharing your great review with other readers!
Excellent recipe and it will be a go to for me. Easy, quick and tasty – I followed the recipe, but did add a few red pepper flakes (I like heat) and used Udon noodles, only because I had them. I can’t wait for leftovers tomorrow. Thank you Natasha
You’re welcome John! I’m glad to hear how much you enjoy the recipe. Thanks for sharing your excellent review with other readers!
Wonderful recipe, doing it again today!
I’m glad you like it Bill! Thanks so much for sharing!
Do you know the number of carbs in this recipe? Looks delicious, can’t wait to try!

Made this tonight. I didn’t have red peppers on hand, so I used yellow. Very flavorful dish. I will make this again very soon. Nice quick & easy meal.
I’m glad you enjoy the recipe Mary! Thanks so much for sharing your great review!
Just made this for dinner and my husband and I loved it. It was so easy to make and tasted delicious. Will for sure make again.
I’m so glad to hear that Megan! Thank you for sharing your fantastic review with other readers!
Just made this for dinner and the whole family loved it very tasty I used extra quantities in the sauce and used plain flour and a drizzle of honey and it thickened up and caramelised lovely enjoyed every mouthful
Hi Mart! I’m so glad your whole family loved this recipe! Thank you for sharing your amazing review :). I love your addition of honey!!
Easy and delicious! It really does only take about 30 minutes from start to finish. Read the recipe all the way through and follow the instructions – don’t overcook the chicken or noodles like I did!
I’m glad you enjoy the recipe Misha! Thanks for sharing your helpful review with other readers!
hi, I was just wondering how many calories are in the dish?

If you add sun-dried tomatoes some rappini and spinach leave, it raps it up to a new level. Delicious.
What a great suggestion Fran! Thanks for sharing!
recipe looks so awesome and mouth watering…want to try it
Its delicious! Please let me know what you think if you decide to make it!
My husband and son (and I) loved this!! It wasn’t too heavy, but just right and so easy! I’ll be making this again!
Awesome!! I’m so glad to hear that! 🙂
Even with the soy sauce I felt it was a very bland
Hi Ang, this is supposed to be a lighter and healthier stir fry – you can increase the sauce if you prefer a saucier stir fry. Also, if you are using low sodium chicken broth or soy sauce, be sure to season to taste with salt or it will be bland.
Will this still be good leftover? Looking to make it and have it throughout the week but not sure how the noodles will hold up!
Hi Kathryn, this will hold up well as leftovers but I do think it is best fresh 🙂
Tried this one evening (only thing I left out was the ketchup) and even the 2 year old ate it with no fight what-so-ever (4 little kids in my family). Loved it. we had it with wheat noodles as well as rice. Thank YOU!!
You’re welcome De! I’m happy to hear the whole family enjoys this recipe! Thanks for sharing your fantastic review!
where is the seasoning? i haven’t even made this and it sounds bland and tasteless. You didn’t even add salt or pepper, and that’s the bare minimum!
Hi Ko, it is one of our most popular recipe posts because it does have great flavor. It isn’t overly salty and you can add salt and pepper to taste if you like saltier foods but the sauce adds plenty of flavor to the dish. The soy sauce, ketchup and broth all have enough salt to balance the dish.
Just made it, everything but the chicken taste good. There isn’t enough seasoning for the chicken. Frying it directly without marinating it was a bad choice.
Hi V M, you can pre-marinate this if you prefer, or just season lightly with salt and pepper.
That was amazing test so good thanks😊
You’re welcome Ana! I’m glad you love it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I just made this, I’m 23 and have had a recent interest in trying to cook and this was incredibly tasty!
This is going to be my go to recipe for stir fry from now on. The sauce is very tasty!
Thank you Natasha.
You’re welcome! I’m glad to hear how much you enjoy this recipe! Thanks for following and sharing your great review!
They dish is yummy, but I would recommend adding some additional seasoning and cooking the noodles longer! My noodles were still fairly crunchy by the time I was done.
Hi Sarah, maybe you used a different kind of noodle? Rice noodles cook super fast and become mushy quickly if overcooked.
Really yummy! I just don’t enjoy rice noodles but couscous is a great substitute!
What a great suggestion Keren! Thanks for sharing your review with other readers!
Can you use shrimp instead?
Hi Donna, I think that would work well with shrimp.
What if you bought the thinner rice noodles? Could that work with this as well?
Hi Destiny, I think that should still work wit the thinner ones.
What could you put in other than broccoli? Not a fan of broccoli. Thanks!
Hi Angie, you could use bell pepper or snap peas instead or even asparagus 🙂
Zucchini or shredddd carrots or green beans
So good! Even my extremely picky husband had seconds. Thank you 😀
My pleasure Carly! I’m glad to hear how much you both enjoy the recipe! Thanks for sharing your great review!
Made this the other night, love how easy it was to make and also it was pretty healthy.
For my taste, it was a bit bland, adding garlic and seasoning would definitely make it tastier, I feel like the sauce wasn’t enough if you like it to be more flavorful. Also, I don’t recommend using all the pasta because it was a bit dry, so either don’t use all the pasta or make more sauce. Overall, I would make this recipe again.
I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Everything you said I agree with. It was a bit dry and I would add more seasoning.
I think soy sauce may contain gluten?
Hi Sandy, you can get gluten free soy sauce – look for the Tamari brand. It does have to say gluten free on the bottle to be gluten free.
Delicious ,perfect. Thanks
My pleasure! I’m happy to hear you love it! 🙂
I made this tonight and it was delicious! My wife and daughters loved it as well and want me to be sure to keep this recipe. I added slightly more broth and soy sauce as it seemed like it may have been getting a little too dry and added 7 or 8 green onions. Other than that, I followed the recipe to the letter. This recipe has it all… easy to prepare and delicious to eat!!
Hi Jerry, I am so glad you all loved the recipe! 🙂
This was delicious! Thanks for the recipe.
You’re welcome Marianne! I’m glad you love it!
Needed something different. My family loved it. Switched mushrooms for snow peas, (my girls won’t eat mushrooms. ) easy and fabulous!
That’s great, I’m happy to hear your family enjoys the recipe Gail! Thanks for sharing your wonderful review!
Just made this tonight! Was a great meal, quick and easy! thanks
You’re welcome Diane! I’m glad to hear you enjoy the recipe! Thanks for sharing 🙂
Hello! Would this recipe work with egg?
Hi Stephanie, I haven’t tried adding egg, but I think you could add egg to this for a little extra protein.
Question, if I wanted to make this while camping could I make the ketchup/ soy sauce marinade ahead of time and store it in the cooler?
Hi Ilona, that should work fine to make the sauce in advance and keep in a cooler as nothing in the sauce is very perishable.
can you boil the chicken before frying it
Hi Izzy, I think that would still work although make sure not to overcook or it will be rubbery as with any overcooked chicken breast 🙂
Hi Natasha, this is the first recipe of yours that I have tried – I changed it up a bit and did shrimp instead of the chicken, and zucchini instead of mushroom. We all loved it – what I liked is that you used all ingredients that I already had in my fridge! Thanks 🙂
My pleasure! That sounds delicious Lisa! I’m so glad you and your family enjoy the recipe! Thanks for sharing your wonderful review 😀
Could I add onions and mushrooms to the stir fry or will that mess with the flavor too much?
Kayla, there are mushrooms in the recipe and onions would work just fine 😃
