I’m floored and humbled when I think about our Baked salmon recipe being one of the most popular salmon recipes in the WORLD. Wowzers!! Thank YOU so much for sharing it and for all the amazing reviews! The marinade for these salmon skewers is the same recipe that we used on our Baked Salmon with garlic and dijon.
I was craving salmon the other day and wanting to fire up the grill so these grilled salmon skewers were born. These take less than 30 minutes to make and you end up with such juicy, flaky and flavorful salmon… you’ll want seconds! We ate these up so fast. My husband even ate the lemon slices – they too were touched by the marinade and the crisp ring around them made them almost candy-like!

Ingredients for Salmon Lemon Kebobs:
1.5 lbs salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch squares
2 large lemons thinly sliced
16 (10-inch) bamboo skewers
Ingredients for Marinade:
2 Tbsp parsley, freshly chopped
2 large or 3 small garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 Tbsp Dijon mustard (we used grey poupon)
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
2 Tbsp light olive oil (not extra virgin, pick something with a higher smoke point)
2 Tbsp of fresh lemon juice from 1/2 large lemon or 1 small lemon

How to Make Grilled Salmon Skewers:
Prep: Soak bamboo skewers at least 1 hour to keep them from catching fire. Preheat Grill to medium heat (about 375˚F).
1. In a medium bowl, stir together all of the marinade ingredients: 2 Tbsp chopped parsley, 2 pressed garlic cloves, 1/2 Tbsp dijon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper, 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp lemon juice.

2. Skewer the salmon and lemon slices folded in half intermittently onto two skewers at a time (The double skewer aids in turning the salmon kebobs on the grill). Brush both sides of skewers with marinade.

3. Oil the grates then carefully place salmon skewers onto the hot BBQ. Grill kebobs for 3-4 minutes per side or until salmon is cooked through and opaque.

Loved this recipe..was a hit with everyone and simple ..on the Easter menu ..
Roz, thank you for the nice review, I’m so glad that everyone loved it 😀.
I cook, bake, grill a lot and I have to say, I made these last night and they were… THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER TASTED. Seriously. Thank you! I will be grilling these all the time with many different meats from now on. Wow!
Looking at the ingredients, I wouldn’t think it would be so flavorful as it is! I added (in addition to) a touch of red wine vinegar and a splash of sriracha but other than tgat, followed the exact recipe.
So so good!
Thank you so much for that fantastic review!! 🙂
thanks for the recipe, do you think they will taste nice cold?. Want to make them as a platter of snacks for a party, but don’t want to be cooking just before the guests.
I think it’s best fresh and warm but it can be served just fine once it’s cooled to room temperature.
I love this recipe. I used this marinade on wild salmon and baked it in the oven. I didn’t have fresh parsley and didn’t want to chop up garlic so I used the frozen Dorot parsley and garlic. Makes this recipe even easier!!! I also use it on skinless and boneless chicken breasts.
Delish and so easy!!! Thank you so much for sharing.
I haven’t tried it with chicken but that is a great idea! Thank you for sharing that with me! Do you bake it also?
Yes, I baked the chicken breasts on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. They came out great!
Hi Natasha,
We own Aupa Plancha Grills and recently used your recipe at a dinner party and everyone loved them! Would if be possible to share this recipe on our blog/FB page? We would, of course, give credit to you but wanted to check first. They were delicious!
Thank you so much, Nicole at Aupa Planchs Grills
Yes that would be fine. Thank you for sharing! 🙂
Natasha, can I do this salmon in the oven?
Yes, that would work well in the oven. You can bake them per the oven instructions here: https://natashaskitchen.com/2012/06/08/baked-salmon-with-garlic-and-dijon/ but they will probably bake a couple minutes faster since they are cubes of salmon.
Made this for my family, and it was a hit! Even the fussy esters loved it!
Thank you for the great review Sheetal, I’m glad everyone loved it :).
Can we grill with the skin, and then take the skin off after it’s cooked?
I haven’t tried grilling these with the skins on. You might need to grill for an extra minute or two. I imagine it might be easier to skin the salmon than to cut through it over and over to get the salmon cubes.
I cooked this, it was absolutely delicious, and best salmon that i have ever eaten.
thanks Natasha
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you so much Farzan 🙂
Can i bake them or grill them in a panini grill if i dont own a real grill?
You can totally do that, let me know how it turns out :).
Nice comment by Neli: “These salmon kebabs looks fantastic! I love how easy it is to cook kebabs, especially if my husband is doing the grilling! Great recipe, Natasha! Pinned. “
That’s funny! That is exactly why I love grilled recipes so much. I do the prep and he does the cooking!
They look so tasty! Will give it a try.
I hope you love the recipe!
These were sooooooooo easy to make and so delish!
I’m so happy you enjoyed the recipe! Thank you for the awesome review.
I bet you could use grape seed oil instead . . what do you think? Love your blog, Natasha. Always interesting and usually pretty healthy.
Kris, thank you for the compliment and yes grape seed oil will work great as well :).
These skewers look amazing! Is it crazy that my favorite part is how great those lemon circles look on the skewers? These would impress the heck out of guests if I can bring myself to share. Thank you for creating this recipe for us!
I agree about the lemons. They actually taste really good too and are totally edible! Thanks Meg and I hope you love the recipe!
Mmmm..it looks sooo delicious!
Thank you! 🙂
The salmon skewers look so perfect! I love grilled fruits as well, those lemons probably tasted amazing with the salmon. I’ll definitely have to try grilling salmon soon! And congrats on such a popular recipe, salmon is such a great protein that always tastes delicious 🙂
Grilled fruit skewers sound wonderful! Do you have a recipe for those on your blog?
I don’t but lately I’ve been wanting some grilled lemon with a mix of other fruits like pineapple or watermelon 🙂
I love it when I read one of your recipes and go ” I have all of these ingredients!” Let’s just say excitement is abound in my kitchen right now! I know what I am cooking for dinner tomorrow!
That is the best isn’t it? I hope you absolutely love this recipe!
Yummy, love anything grilled!
Thank you Vika :).
Congrats on the popularity of your salmon recipe! I understand why it’s made it big, it looks delicious!
Thank you Shelby, I have very little self control around this dish :).
These salmon kebabs looks fantastic! I love how easy it is to cook kebabs, especially if my husband is doing the grilling! 😉 Great recipe, Natasha! Pinned.
Thank you Neli, it was easy indeed and husband did the grilling :).
Absolutely, husband at the grill is the WAY to go. Adore how you used Grey Poupon, remember how funny their commercials used to be 20 years ago? Okay, I guess my age is showing here. Oh well. The lemons are so well presented on these skewers, they look candy-like for sure! Glad your husband liked them, sure mine will too. Father’s Day is gonna be good. I think I feel a song coming on =)
I totally remember the commercials although I was about 10 years old. Darn it I jus blew my age too! 😉 ha ha.
