Merry Christmas 2013!

A Christmas card with photos of Natasha\'s family that says we wish you a Merry Christmas

I love Christmas; the nostalgic music, sweet smells coming from the oven, children who are buzzing with anticipation, little fingers that are eager to destroy ornaments, the UPS truck, Christmas movies that never get old, snow, twinkly lights, rosy cheeks, but most of all I love that my son sang “Happy Birthday Jesus” just before he tore open his gifts.

We snapped this picture Christmas eve (yesterday):

Christmas 2013

My son loves his snuggles from Mama before he goes to bed (and I’ll take what I can get before it becomes uncool to snuggle mom at bedtime). Here’s how last night’s conversation went:

Me “Did you get everything you wanted for Christmas?”

he said: “I want one more thing…”

me: “what’s that?”

he said: “I just want you….. and Tato (Dad) and God and our family.”

me: ” 🙂 ” followed by extra snuggles

He’s all sugar.

Wishing you and your loved ones a warm, beautiful and blessed Christmas.
Yeah. Happy Birthday Jesus!

Tomorrow we’re off to church and then dinner at my parent’s house. How are you celebrating Jesus’ Birth? Are you churching? Feasting? Gifting (re-gifting?)? Working? I’d love to know what you’re up to on Christmas.

PS Do you make krusties? So delicate, better than the best pizelle and is a family activity because it’s just too much for one person to do!

Merry Christmas! I am celebrating Christmas with father soon to be 84. Here’s a Christmas tradition of mine – I and my younger guests get to together any raisins, breadcrumbs, cut of pieces of fruit and spread them through my entire yard for the birds and other animals.

While writing to you I must tell you I tried your Russian Tiramisu cake. Unfortunately the cake caved in the center, the cake was for today, Christmas. What did I do wrong? Yours looked so good.

Did you watch the video? There are probably 2 culprits: either the oven was opened 1 too many times before it was done baking, or the batter was overmixed. I hope that helps 🙂

Sounds a lot like our day! We’re having church once this year and it sounds like it’s going to be a long one fitting everything into one service. I counted a total of seven songs that I’ll be singing including a couple choir songs. I love how we have church on Christmas Day. It helps to remember what Christmas is really about. The kids also get presents in our church afterwards. My son is so excited about it! Merry Christmas to your family
