This Cucumber Tomato Feta Salad has simple ingredients that are a winning combination – so refreshing and flavorful! We can’t get enough of our garden cucumbers and tomatoes so we have been experimenting with all different flavors and cheeses and this is a new favorite.
The feta cheese gives this salad satisfying Greek Salad flavor and adds the salty notes so you hardly have to add any salt (or you can skip the salt altogether). When you add salt to cucumbers and tomatoes, they start to get juicy and soft so less salt means the salad will stay crisp longer.
There’s a surprising ingredient in the dressing that takes this salad to a whole new level!
Cucumber Feta Salad Ingredients:
The ingredients in this feta salad are so fresh, crisp and amazing! The feta cheese takes it over the top, so don’t skip it!
*If you aren’t keen on cilantro, add dill to taste instead.
How to Make Tomato Cucumber Salad with Feta:
1. In a small bowl or measuring cup, combine: 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp lemon juice, pressed garlic cloves, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper and 1/4 tsp ground cumin.
2. In a large mixing bowl, add remaining salad ingredients: chopped tomatoes, sliced cucumber, 6 oz feta cheese, sliced red onion and 1/4 cup chopped cilantro.
3. Just before serving, drizzle with dressing and toss to combine. Season to taste with salt if desired.
Serving Tip: Add dressing just before serving for a crisp and fresh presentation. Once salt, touches cucumbers and tomatoes, they begin to soften and get juicy.

Q: What is YOUR favorite combination for cucumber and tomato salad? We’re wild about cucumber and tomatoes and these recipes prove that!
Yes! I made this, and the combination of flavors is so amazing! It is 100 degrees today, so a nice cool salad is perfect. I am adding a plain grilled burger, so it does not interfere with the party going on in my mouth. YUM!
I’m one of those where cilantro tastes like soap, so I’m glad you mentioned dill! How much would you put in though?
Hi Chad, I would add it to taste. I hope you love the recipe!
Very flavorful! My daughter loves goat cheese so I substituted a small amount of that for the feta cheese. I think the tiny bit of cumin was great and may add it to other salad dressings in the future. Love the recipe. Thanks so much!
I’m so happy you enjoyed this recipe, Karen! Thank you so much for sharing that with me.
A great, easy salad recipe that is going to go into regular rotation in my house.
Simple flavours – and it’d be easy to add to if you needed to.
Thank you for the wonderful feedback, James! I’m so glad you love it.
I thought I would like the cumin, but the combination of the cumin and the lemon was pretty strong. Very acidic. I added about 1 teaspoon of honey, some salt, a bit more olive oil and a pinch of dried thyme to even out the taste.
Hi Cathy, just 1/4 tsp of cumin should not have been too strong – did you use real lemon juice and not from concentrate? I highly recommend fresh lemon juice for dressings.
Hi! Just wondering – What do I have to do to see the comments? They don’t show up no matter what I try to click on. Also, you don’t mention removing the pressed garlic before adding the dressing to the salad. Does “pressed” also mean minced garlic in this case? Thank you!!
Hi Cyndi! The comment section is below the recipe card. I just tested it myself for this recipe and I am able to view it. If you are using a computer, then the comments should just appear but if you are on a tablet or phone, you might have to click on “read comments/reviews.”
If this is not working, there might be a glitch or error on your device. You can try refreshing or restarting to see if that helps. I used a garlic press which is pictured in the image above to “press” the garlic. It’s not quite the same as mincing but if you do not have one, you can finely mince and smash your garlic on a cutting board and then add it in. I hope that helps.
Wow, thank you so much! I do have garlic presses, but I prefer to smash it with my Sudoku and mince it from there (large family and I make large quantities and this is actually more efficient). I just wanted to make sure that it wasn’t meant to just be smashed (also known as “pressed” to me). Dressing is done now and in the fridge for this lovely salad tomorrow, can’t wait! And, yes, of course there’s a highly visible button to click (in red no less!) to view comments and I missed it! So sorry! Thank you so much again for your prompt and helpful response. I’m looking forward to perusing your entire website, as my beautiful, wonderful mother was Ukrainian, and a terrific cook.
You’re very welcome, Cyndi! I hope you love this recipe.
A perfect mix of fresh ingredients. I used homegrown Çengelköy cucumbers and cilantro. The cumin added a nice deep flavor.
My husband I’d devouring it right now!
Wonderful, so happy to know that you both enjoyed it!
Wow, this was so good. The cumin really made it. Great way to use my CSA veggies and so refreshing on a hot summer day!
Glad you loved it, Aimee!
I added Garbanzo beans to mine ! SO good – My family LOVED this recipe. Def only add the dressing when you are about to eat it or it will get soggy! Also good mason jar meal prep w chicken.
That’s just awesome! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review, Jessica!
Absolutely delicious! I had gotten so tired of regular salads and this is now might go to side dish!
So glad you love it! 🙂
I suddenly had a taste for cucumbers today and found this recipe. I made it today and it is AMAZING! Thank you for sharing.
That’s wonderful! I love when that happens. I’m happy you came across this recipe.
I made this on a whim after picking my cukes. It was spot on delicious!
Glad you enjoyed it, Brad!
Very nice recipe! I added Italian oregano, a touch of prosecco wine vinegar, goat cheese since I was out of feta, and used white pepper instead of black.
Yum! Thank you so much for sharing that with me, Angela! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
I made this and it was loved by everyone. I added orzo as I was asked to bring a pasta salad. It was perfect!
Great to hear that, Mary. Thank you for the awesome feedback!
This salad is amazing! With the addition of the cheese and cumin, I also added sliced kalamata olives and chickpeas! Very scrumptious
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with us, Claire!
So yummy!! I followed the recipe except I didn’t have cilantro so I used green onions, and I also added in sliced black olives. My picky 7-year-old helped me prepare this and she’s on her second bowl and has proclaimed that she loves feta cheese now lol!
Wow, that’s awesome and so cute!
Black olives for the win!
I love your recipes bc of things you have on hand to start with. You explain the recipe so I can understand it and they are so easy to make. You don’t have to buy a bunch of stuff you might not usually use. And they taste delicious and are healthy! Thank you again!
That’s so nice, J! Thank you for your compliments and good feedback. I’ll always do my best to provide you all with great new recipes that you can try.
So glad to finally see cilantro in salads that have a Greek slant to them. Having lived in Cyprus for ages, it is something used alot. The cumin in the dressing was new to me…but it worked. Great side to a nice steak. Bravo
Thank you so much for sharing that wonderful feedback with us!
This salad is amazing!!!
I’m so happy you enjoyed that Trisha!
