This creamy Horseradish Sauce rivals the best Steakhouse horseradish I’ve tried in both Ruth’s Chris and the Cottonwood Grill. It is excellent paired with prime rib, steak or beef tenderloin.

Horseradish Sauce Recipe:
This horseradish cream sauce is so easy and will impress your dinner guests! It keeps well in the refrigerator for at least 2 weeks and only gets better as the flavors meld.
This sauce is creamy and balanced by the cider vinegar. It isn’t overly pungent and won’t mask the flavors of the excellent prime rib you’ve prepared. If you like your horseradish sauce a little more potent, add horseradish to taste.

What is Prepared Horseradish?
You can purchase jars labeled “prepared horseradish” in the refrigerated section of your grocery store.
If you have a fresh horseradish root growing in your yard, you can make homemade prepared horseradish in a food processor with some water, vinegar and salt but keep in mind homemade is twice as strong as store-bought so add it to taste.
Prepared horseradish is so versatile. We love it in crab salad, coleslaw and “Hron” (a Russian sauce with grated beets).
How to Make Horseradish Sauce:
It really doesn’t get any easier than this: combine all of the ingredients and stir!

Q: What is YOUR favorite way to enjoy Creamy Horseradish Sauce? I would love to hear from you in a comment below!

Served this with Sous Vide Prime Rib for Christmas dinner, and it was a big hit! I normally dab into the grated horseradish for an extra kick, but this is nice as you can slather it on without getting injured. Still has plenty of zing, but next year I’ll make one regular strength, and one double strength!
Sounds wonderful! I’m so happy to know that it was a huge hit!
I NEVER comment on recipe sites. However, I made this recipe (only change was that I used Litehouse chives) and it was tremendous! My picky teenage nephew, who disdains mayo and sour cream, tried it and loved it as well! I appreciate you posting it.
So happy to hear that, Troy! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review.
Used your Prime Rib Recipe with your Horseradish sauce for Christmas Dinner this year. Had 8 Adult guests and they truly loved it!
That’s wonderful, Don! I’m so happy to hear it was a hit!
I have made this recipe at least 20 times and it just never fails. It’s delicious and creamy and perfect with prime rib. I always always always double the recipe because it’s even better the next day on a prime rib sandwich. It’s so good!!!
