We love discovering new and easy salmon recipes. This is an easy salmon recipe that takes about 20 minutes to prepare and there is no marinating required. The broccoli roasts in the same pan which makes dinner so convenient and nutritious. P.S. See notes below on the difference between wild-caught and farmed salmon.
Watch How to Make Apricot Dijon Salmon:
Salmon lovers will really enjoy this Apricot Dijon Salmon recipe. It’s a fun combination of ingredients and the glaze imparts so much flavor. Salmon is so good for you – it has all of the good healthy fats, especially if you can get your hands on wild caught!
Wild Caught Vs. Farmed Salmon Baking Times:
Farmed Raised Salmon (like Altantic or farmed King Salmon) tends to have a higher fat content so it can be baked longer without drying out. Farmed salmon also tends to have thicker filets. These thicker, fattier pieces of salmon are more forgiving and you can aim for the longer baking time.
Wild Caught Salmon (like Sockey and Coho Salmon), tends to be thinner and less fatty (with the exception of some species like WILD King Salmon which can be just as thick and fatty as farm raised). Wild salmon needs to be baked more carefully since it is easier to overcook it. Aim for the lower baking times with wild-caught and check for doneness before you cook it any longer.
Ingredients for Apricot Dijon Glazed Salmon:
The ingredients here are so simple but work beautifully together. The glaze is only 4 ingredients but it’s all you need.

Print-Friendly Apricot Mustard Salmon Recipe:
Apricot Dijon Salmon and Broccoli

Ingredients
For the Apricot Dijon Glaze:
- 1/4 cup apricot preserves
- 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 1/2 Tbsp dijon mustard
Instructions
- Preheat Oven to 450˚F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or silpat.
- Place broccoli florets on lined baking sheet and toss with 2 Tbsp olive oil, and season with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper, or to taste. Roast broccoli by itself at 450˚F for 5 minutes to soften, since broccoli needs a little more time to cook than salmon then remove from oven.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine all glaze ingredients, bring to a simmer and cook 1 minute then remove from heat and set aside.
- Push broccoli to the long sides of the baking sheet and arrange salmon (skin-side-down) in the center, leaving a little space between each filet. Season salmon with 1/2 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper, or to taste. Divide glaze evenly between each filet, spreading to coat the top and sides. Bake uncovered at 450˚F for 6-10 minutes*, or until flakey and just cooked through.

We are salmon fans, and loved this recipe! Thank you for sharing it with us.
Another one we make often is salmon baked with sauteed onions, tomatoes, and basil in cream, took this off genius kitchen website (Queen Dana, “creamy baked salmon”). Just sharing in case you want to experiment. Have a blessed day!
You’re welcome, Kseniya! I’m so happy you loved it!
What is the green garnish on the broccoli/salmon dish
Hi Sharon, we garnished with freshly chopped chives. Green onion can be used as well. I’m sorry I missed that! I have updated the recipe card 🙂
Just finished eating this yummy meal.
It was very good!(maybe my glaze was a little too sweet) My fish was way thicker and I had to cook it for about 14 minutes..so the broccoli overcooked a little but we actually really liked that. It tasted like brussel sprouts!
Question. Would it work to switch this glaze with the honey glaze? I like that glaze more, but for some reason that one burns almost everytime when I fry it..:(
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I have used a thicker salmon and I cut the broccoli florets larger so they cooked properly. I think it could work well with the honey glaze. If you experiment, let me know! 🙂
I wish that it would turn out better but I have to say it was just not the same. The glaze did not stay on the salmon too well. Most of it burned in the oven. The taste was pretty good but it definitely didn’t “glaze”.. I enjoyed it more when the salmon was fried and the glaze was sticking to the salmon more.
Hi Ksusha, I wonder if maybe you are broiling too long? I haven’t had that same experience but if it is burned in the oven, it sounds like baking too long or at too high of heat. I hope that helps!
Natasha, this recipe caught my eye from a friend’s sharing the link. It did not disappoint!! Easy, flavorful, and satisfying! This will make many reappearances on our table in future…Thank you!
Addendum: wonder if adding a little pizazz from some chili would work, too? We love spicy dishes and I often pair sweet and spicy. I have a sweet jalapeño jelly, might try the recipe with it and see!
I think that would be nice! The mustard adds a little bit of it’s own spice but some chili might be very nice. Let me know if you experiment! 🙂
Hi Natasha, this recipe is sooo good!!!, and sooo easy!! Last night my granddaughter was at my house and she wanted to make this recipe, she love salmon and she also love your recipes. She did almost everything by herself, I only handled the salmon (she doesn’t like to touch raw food!), and I set the oven. It was soo yummy, it was all gone!! I got some pictures, where can I post them so you can see them. Thanks again for your easy and yummy recipes!! Blessing for you and your family!! (My granddaughter is 13 years old)
I’m so glad you both enjoy this recipe! Thanks for sharing your excellent review Cristina! I would love it if you joined our private Facebook group where you can share your yummy photos!!
I already joined that group, yesterday I posted my comment and photos. Thanks Natasha!!
Awesome! I’m glad to hear that Cristina! 🙂
I mix white wine, soy, ginger, a touch of brown sugar and marinade the salmon for 30 minutes, then place it on a rack w/skin side down and pour the marinade over the top. Cook until finished at 350 degrees.
That sounds wonderful!! Thank you so much for sharing! Do you add those in equal portions for the marinade?
I follow you on Instagram and saw this recipe the other day. I told you I was going to make it for mine and my husband’s anniversary. Well I made it tonight. It was amazing. So simple to make. Very few ingredients. My husband and I enjoyed it so much. I’ll be checking out your other recipes and seeing what else to make.
YAY!! I’m so happy to hear that! happy Anniversary to you two!
I’m always looking for easy and healthy sheet pan meals and this one looks great! I love adding fruit jam to pan sauces but never thought of glazing fish with it. Thanks for this wonderful recipe, I’ll be enjoying it real soon!
It does work really well with salmon. I hope you love it!! What recipes do you love with fruit jam?
My favorite is pork medallions with a berry jam, or even some dark grapes can be used. Chicken with apricot jam is good too with some chopped dried apricots. I just sauté the pork or chicken, remove them from the pan, then add the jams and fruits and deglaze with a bit of stock or broth if needed. It’s a quick and easy way for me to add more flavor to the meal. I learned this technique from watching one of Jacques Pepin’s cooking shows.
Yum, those all sound delicious! Thanks for sharing your great suggestions with other readers Margaret!
Made this salmon today!
My kids said the fish tastes like their favorite sushi roll with similar sauce))
Thanks, Natasha, for another amazing recipe)
My pleasure! I’m happy to hear how much your family loves this recipe. Thanks for sharing your excellent review!
