Chicken Mango Salad:
Last week’s date night to the Cheesecake Factory, resulted in the discovery of this Chicken Mango Avocado Salad. The combination of sweet, savory and tangy ingredients make this a refreshing and memorable summer salad and the honey vinaigrette couldn’t be easier!
I highly highly recommend you top this with the toasted almonds (I forgot to toss them in before photographing but they add a nice crunch and compliment the mango very well. The Cheesecake Factory recipe had wonton strips over the top but I wasn’t too keen on them – just extra calories without much flavor. We loved the toasted almonds 100 times more – crunchy, nutty, fragrant and guilt-free!
Chicken Avocado Mango Salad Ingredients:
The combination of flavors and textures makes this a very exciting salad to eat! It is loaded with juicy chicken, crisp lettuce, sweet mango, creamy avocado and crunchy almonds – this salad is a winner! No wonder it is such a popular cheesecake factory recipe.
If you love mangos, a mango slicer makes it easy and efficient to cut out the pit. Also, every salad lover should have a salad spinner in their kitchen. It is a major time-saving tool. You can rinse, drain and spin dry in just a couple of minutes. No more soggy salads!
How to Cut a Mango:
1. A mango has one long, flat seed that goes from stem to nose. If you don’t have a mango slicer, you can cut a mango with a sharp slim knife: slice off the sides around the seeds keeping as close to the seed as you can. Scoop the flesh out of the skin and slice or dice desired.
The SECRET to Perfectly Sauteed Chicken:
See that juicy chicken? The KEY to juicy sauteed chicken every time is using an instant-read thermometer. Remove the chicken from the pan once it reaches 165˚F.

Q: Do you have a favorite Summer Salad? I would love to hear from YOU in a comment below!
Hi Natasha, I tried this recipe and absolutely loved it, even my picky eaters (children) didn’t complain. I didn’t have any ACV so used white wine vinegar instead in the dressing and it was fine. Thank you for sharing this recipe, it’s a winner.
That is the best when kids love what we parents make. That’s so great!
Would love to try this salad! Do you think I can replace the chicken (my husband is allergic) with tofu or shrimps?
Hi Ceri! I imagine this would work with Shrimp! I would like to know how you like this recipe with this substitution!
I used tofu for my vegetarian daughters. I cubed the tofu, marinated it for 30 min in some of the dressing, and then baked the marinated tofu to give it a crispy exterior. Once it was cool, I proceed with the recipe as written. Great success! The girls *loved* it. I’m going to try with shrimp as well. Although I do love the chicken in it. Wonderful, adaptable recipe! Thank you Natasha!
Sounds wonderful! Thank you for sharing that with us, we appreciate the tips and review!
This recipe is delicious. , dressing is on key . Love your recipes. I’ve made lots of your recipes. Thank you
You’re welcome! I’m so happy you enjoyed it, Kathy!
Made the avocado/mango salad tonight with the dressing and it was delicious! I did add crumbled feta cheese as I love cheese. Such a refreshing salad. Thank you!
You’re welcome! I’m happy you enjoyed that!
Yes! I was even thinking feta would be yummy on it, too!
Hello Natasha! I can’t wait to try this recipe. I was wondering what brand of scraper do you use? I’ve noticed it in many videos including the Best Ever Guacamole video. It has a black plastic handle and metal half moon shape bottom.
Hi Lakesha, I hope you enjoy this! You can see the kitchen tools that I use here in my Amazon affiliate shop.
I’m making this for dinner tonight. Looks like it will be amazing and I’m looking forward to it. I only wish the “serving size” was a little more realistic.
Hi Cindy! Thank you so much for that feedback!
Can i leave the rest of this salad for tomorrow? Will it stay fresh?
Hi Angela, I think that could be stored for a few days but we usually enjoy it fresh. The dressing will keep well in the fridge for 5-7 days and we usually use it up in that time.
How about chicken and dumplings
I haven’t tried that combo yet but sounds like a good idea. Please share with us how it goes!
Making this salad for my daughter and son in law for supper tonight.. Can’t wait to taste it with them..Smells and looks amazing.. Thank you Natasha
Sounds like a great plan. I hope they like and enjoy it!
Ok do you have a secret for picking out avocados? Yours always look perfect.
Hi Tammy, the best description I found was on google here’s what I found “If the avocado yields to firm gentle pressure you know it’s ripe and ready-to-eat. Ripe, ready to eat avocados may have a darker color but color can vary so it is best to go by feel as well as color. It will feel lightly soft but it will not feel “mushy” to the touch. Ripe fruit is perfect for that day.” I hope this is helpful!
Hi, I love this salad, but can you tell me where you got your fabulous server bowl?
Hi Gabi, Everyone seems to love that bowl! It is Sur La Table Brand.
I love this recipe it’s one of my favorites. I was wondering if I could turn it into a meal prep. Keep the dressing on the side ect. Any suggestions
Hi Kaytee! I bet that could work! I do worry the avocado will turn brown without the dressing. The dressing will keep well in the fridge for 5-7 days and we usually use it up in that time.
I made this a couple nights ago and it was DELICIOUS! I had to omit the avocado because mine was not ripe, but it was still wonderful!
I am so glad that you loved this salad, Joy. I hope you enjoy every recipe that you try!
I made it for dinner tonight and it was delicious!
I’ve been silently watching on your YouTube channel and this is the first recipe of yours that I tried/made. For sure I’ll be trying out your other recipes now.

The scoop you used for removing the mango from the peeling – what would you call it in order to order one? Thanks!
Hi Debra that is a fruit scoop from OXO brand.
Hi Debra, we have it in our Amazon Shop HERE if you’d like it. It’s a fruit scoop.
Do you have a cookbook??
Hi Katie, we don’t yet but it is in our goals for the future. I have begun working on one.
Do you have a cookbook??
Hi Katie, I am working on a cookbook. I’ll make sure to share it with everyone when it’s ready.
Made your Chicken Mango Avocado salad last night. Excellent! Left out the cilantro because my wife doesn’t care for it. I especially liked the dressing – a very light, tasty accent.
That is so great to hear, Norman. Thank you for sharing that with us!
