My husband said this creamy Cucumber Radish Salad takes him back to his childhood in Ukraine. Radishes are very popular in European dishes and we sure love our radish recipes!

This salad is ridiculously easy to make and is a staple in our home in summer. We created a NEW VIDEO for this recipe so more people could discover it. It’s a keeper!

Radishes Are Nutritious

Did you know radishes are nutritious? They are rich in Vitamin C, Folic Acid and Potassium. See the estimated nutrition label in the recipe card below.

Ingredients for Cucumber Radish Salad:

There are literally 3 ingredients in this radish salad and 2 ingredients in the dressing (including salt!) I know what you’re thinking; WOAH – that can’t be all?! My Mother has been making this recipe since I was a child and sometimes a classic recipe doesn’t need any improvement.

Radish recipes ingredients for cucumber radish salad

Cook’s Tip: Stir the sour cream dressing into the salad just before serving. The longer it sits, the more liquid the dressing becomes as the salt causes the cucumber to release some juice. But I guarantee you’ll use a spoon to gather any extra juice left behind. It’s so yummy!

One of our favorite radish recipes is this creamy cucumber radish salad.

Radishes also have a very satisfying crunch; Mmm! I love that this simple sour cream dressing neutralizes the radishes slight pungent flavor and enhances their sweetness. I was impressed when my 4 year old ate and enjoyed this radish and cucumber salad.

    Hey Natasha,
Are chives and green onion the same thing?

Chives are thinner, green onions are thicker, but you can usually interchange them. Hope this helps :).

Your recipe looks yummy with the radishes… Never thought of adding them to this salad. Our family salts the sliced cucumbers and leaves them sit til the juice comes out and the cukumber a are a bit wilted (1/2-3/4 of an hour). We then add the sour cream and mix it in. I find that a couple of tablespoons of vinegar added in make a tangy addition.

Do you drain the salad before adding sour cream or keep the juice in?

This salad always reminds me about spring back home. I let my salad to sit in the fridge a bit for the juices to come out and then use dark rye bread to soak them up.

I need to make this salad again and I should add some cucumbers as well since this sounds like a great addition to the radishes and green onions. I also add a little bit of olive oil and some black pepper, its one of my favorite salads. Thanks for all the hard work Natasha, you are my most trusted source. Have a wonderful Easter!

My husband favorite salad! I’ve put a “healthy twist” to it (as I find myself doing to most russian dishes) and throw in chopped spinach (it’s virtually tasteless in this salad, yet adds great nutrients) and substitute plain greek yogurt for half the sour cream. Per your commenters suggestions, I’ll have to try adding eggs next time. 🙂

I make this salad too and it’s just so refreshing! My mom makes a sour cream salad with just radishes & green onions. My mother-in-law makes a sour cream salad with just cucumbers. I thought – why not combine the 2 together? Tada! Out came this salad 🙂 I am jealous your son eats it – my kids will not touch radishes, but I’m hoping they’ll become wiser with age, lol. Happy Easter!

It’s a sweet bulka with raisins, topped with powdered sugar/egg white icing 🙂 & Pashtet is sort of like American meatloaf. Except my mom makes it extra special by placing hard boiled eggs in the middle. So when you slice it, you get that extra surprise 🙂
