I’m floored and humbled when I think about our Baked salmon recipe being one of the most popular salmon recipes in the WORLD. Wowzers!! Thank YOU so much for sharing it and for all the amazing reviews! The marinade for these salmon skewers is the same recipe that we used on our Baked Salmon with garlic and dijon.
I was craving salmon the other day and wanting to fire up the grill so these grilled salmon skewers were born. These take less than 30 minutes to make and you end up with such juicy, flaky and flavorful salmon… you’ll want seconds! We ate these up so fast. My husband even ate the lemon slices – they too were touched by the marinade and the crisp ring around them made them almost candy-like!
Ingredients for Salmon Lemon Kebobs:
1.5 lbs salmon fillets, cut into 1-inch squares
2 large lemons thinly sliced
16 (10-inch) bamboo skewers
Ingredients for Marinade:
2 Tbsp parsley, freshly chopped
2 large or 3 small garlic cloves, pressed
1/2 Tbsp Dijon mustard (we used grey poupon)
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground black pepper
2 Tbsp light olive oil (not extra virgin, pick something with a higher smoke point)
2 Tbsp of fresh lemon juice from 1/2 large lemon or 1 small lemon
How to Make Grilled Salmon Skewers:
Prep: Soak bamboo skewers at least 1 hour to keep them from catching fire. Preheat Grill to medium heat (about 375˚F).
1. In a medium bowl, stir together all of the marinade ingredients: 2 Tbsp chopped parsley, 2 pressed garlic cloves, 1/2 Tbsp dijon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/8 tsp pepper, 2 Tbsp olive oil, 2 Tbsp lemon juice.
2. Skewer the salmon and lemon slices folded in half intermittently onto two skewers at a time (The double skewer aids in turning the salmon kebobs on the grill). Brush both sides of skewers with marinade.
3. Oil the grates then carefully place salmon skewers onto the hot BBQ. Grill kebobs for 3-4 minutes per side or until salmon is cooked through and opaque.

PPS. If you love these salmon kabobs, be sure to check out our Baked Salmon with Garlic and Dijon!
I absolutely love this recipe. I don;t follow it exactly…add a little more marinade. I love salmon but this is extra good! Thanks!
You’re welcome Carole! I’m glad to hear you enjoy the recipe so much! Thanks for sharing!
Hi! I’m goi g to try making these for an engagement party . There will be 65 people! If you cook double skewered can you separate when serving or wou,d that ruin them ?
Hi Linda, are you planning to take them off the skewers in order to serve? I’m not sure I fully understand what you are planning. I would not remove them from the skewers to serve or they will fall apart. In that case, it might be better to cook salmon filets (here is our favorite recipe).
these were fantastic! I received so many complements – “This is the best salmon I ever had” …I trimmed the skin and did put the cut up chunks in the marinade for about 25 minutes before I put them on the skewers (we used metal) Just fabulous – thank you!
Oh and I did add fresh dill along with the parsley
You’re welcome Melissa! I’m glad to hear how much everyone love the recipe! Thanks for sharing your excellent review!
Hi Natasha! I’m about to make salmon skewers. Do you think is a good idea to marinade salmon over night?I want it to be tasty inside. Thanks!
Hi Anna, this does not require marinating overnight and I probably would not marinate overnight simply because of the lemon juice which can toughen seafood if marinated too long.
I actually tried this out tonight. Instead of using skewers my son actually got me a set of shish kabob baskets and they came out very well! Cheers for the recipe Natasha.
I’m glad you like them Stewart! Thanks for sharing your great review!
Hi Natasha
Your recipes are super and very yummy tooo. Thank you for sharing your recipes.
I’m gonna try this recipe tomorrow. Just want to ask, can I use any other fish than salmon like Hamour with skin on ( am from UAE)
Hi Jeena, I haven’t tried it with that particular fish, but I have found this recipe to work with a variety of fish and even lobster and shrimp. I’m guessing it would work well. If you try it, let me know how you like it 🙂
Very tasty…super soft! Will make this again for sure!
Liliya, I’m so glad to hear that you like the recipe 😬.

I’m so happy to hear that Katie! Thanks for sharing your fantastic review! 😀
Have you ever made these ahead of time and then eaten them cold the next day? Thinking of pre-made camping snacks!!
Hi Erica, I love salmon best fresh but I think that could work well 🙂
These are mouthwatering!!!!!!
I’m glad you love the recipe Alena!
Salmon is my favourite fish and try and have it a lot. I have never thought have doing it as a skewer though. Will have to give this recipe ago, thanks!!
It is such a good recipe! Let me know what you think. 🙂
Dear Natasha, I knew you would come up with gorgeous recipes in time for Christmas. Loving wishes.
Thank you so much Pamela! Merry Christmas
Our FAVORITE salmon recipe! Thank you for amazing recipes and easy step by step instructions. Do you think it would be OK to marinate the salmon over night?
Hi Anna, I wouldn’t marinate overnight only because of the lemon juice. If you marinate fish too long in lemon juice, the acidity starts to cook the fish. I’m so glad this is your favorite! What a compliment! 🙂
Hi Natasha, your recipes are absolutely gorgeous!!! Greetings from Canada 🙂
I’m a ….. I’m your huge fan already! :)))
Lena, I’m so happy to hear that my blog is a blessing to you. Thank you so much for sharing that with me 😀.
Ok, FIRST, let me start by praising you for this DELICIOUS recipe. I made the kebabs tonight for dinner and they were absolutely to die for!!! Hubby and I loved them and even my super picky 7 year old loved them!! I usually need a boatload of tartar sauce with my fish and I ate these straight off the kebab, no sauce necessary. This will be my go-to recipe from here on out!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!
Ashley, what a great review 😁 ! I’m so glad you love the recipe and you are welcome.
Hi, Natasha,
Thank you for the best salmon recipe. Just made it for dinner! I’m not a fish fan, but that one is great! Will do again! God bless you and what you do!
Marina, thank you for such a great review, looks like you might have a new favorite 😁.
The best salmon recipe I have ever tried. Looks as gorgeous as on your pictures. My kids also loved it, and they are a tough crow to please. I only added some lemon-pepper seasoning (I always use it with seafood) and Vegeta to it. My husband grilled it on 500-550 F. Love your blog with great and detailed instructions and awesome pictures. I learned to bake using recipes from your site. God bless you and your beautiful family! Thank you for great recipes.
Thank you so much Anna! God bless your family also. I’m so happy you loved the recipe 🙂
I’m going to be adding this to my bbq menu for tomorrow’s holiday feast. I love the idea of adding slices of lemon to the skewers. Its a real nice touch.
I hope you love it! Yes, the lemons serve beautifully and adds great flavor to the salmon 🙂
hello I am doing this tomorrow for a bbq! do you removed the skin or leave it on?
Trudi, I remove the skin.
