To celebrate our 4-year-blogoversary, my birthday and Thanksgiving, we’re giving away this stunner. The Blendtec blender is one awesome machine. It is my new obsession. I can’t stop blending things; spinach, apples, raw carrots, flax seeds, grapes,…
I told my mom it is a “dikiy zver” (wild animal). It does have a “wild side” after all (the jar has a 5th side for efficiency). You know what’s really wild about this blender? The blade is completely dull! I can reach inside while washing it and not lose a finger. It whirls food up to 300MPH and pulverizes it into submission.
Oh and there are preset buttons that you can push and it goes through the program adjusting speed all on it’s own to give you a perfect smoothie every time in under a minute. No need to open the lid and swirl it to check the consistency. Oh oh and you see that Twister Jar? Can you say nutella and almond butter ten times fast?! It processes the really thick mixtures.
Oooooh and the blender and the Twister Jar come with two cookbooks which are a gold mine. I’ve made about 10 of these recipes in 1 week. (If you’re as excited as I am, you should pause and take a breath before continuing).
Blendtec where have you been all my life? My son is drinking whole food smoothies that are jam packed with superfoods and antioxidants and I’m one super happy mama.
Here is one of the delicious blender recipes from the Blendtec cookbook (pg 14):
Green Flaxy Smoothie Ingredients:
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp flaxseeds
2 clementines, peeled
1 banana, peeled
2 cups spinach
1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
How To Make Green Flaxie Smoothie:
1. Add of the ingredients to the blender, secure the lid and select “whole juice”. It’s done in under a minute and the flax seeds blend up really well in my Blendtec (they aren’t gritty!).
I might have tossed in a few extra pineapple chunks for my sweet tooth. But ya know what? There’s no added sugar in this. Yep, it’s au natural. Happy Mama indeed.
