Our Best Dutch Oven Recipes
Dutch ovens have been around FOR-EVER! The dutch oven is such a versatile tool in the kitchen. It makes everything taste better because they have a heavy bottom for even heat conduction and they have heavy lids that seal in moisture and flavor. This pot is most useful for dutch oven recipes that need to go from the stove to the oven, reducing what we call the “dish factor” (less dishes!). They also retain heat really well and are lovely for serving.
Our dutch oven recipes are among some of the top recipes on our site. If you’re on the fence about investing in a dutch oven, this post may help you see the vast possibilities for cooking with a dutch oven. Dear Natasha,
We have a wonderful sour dough bread “factory” going on in our kitchen, but have stumbled upon a problem! We love baking the bread in our enameled dutch oven, but are having trouble with it burning on the bottom. Do you have any suggestions as how to solve the problem?
Thank you so much!
~ Diane Bauman
Hi Diane, a couple of things that come to mind. Adjust the height of your oven shelf if it is too close to the heating element at the bottom, use good-quality parchment paper to place the dough on. You could also try a baking stone and place the dutch oven on top of it. It will help with even heat distribution. Hope this helps.
I followed and only used natasha kitchen recipe. I would love to own one but I can’t afford it as money is tight hubby was diagnosed for cancer and he just love your soup recipe. Thanks natasha for awesome recipe.
