Tortilla Breakfast Wrap (TikTok Tortilla Fold)
This Breakfast Tortilla Fold technique became a major trend of TikTok and it’s a genius idea if you haven’t tried it yet. It takes a regular Tortilla Breakfast Wrap to the next level.
We love easy one-skillet breakfasts. Some of our most popular breakfasts include our One-pan Breakfast Sandwich and of course our Breakfast Quesadillas.

Why I Don’t Skip Breakfast
I find that when I skip breakfast, I run out of steam quickly and end up snacking on something junky before lunch. A hearty breakfast will break your ‘night fast’, fuel your day, and curb unhealthy snack cravings. This is a great (and EASY) recipe to have in your repertoire for busy and hurried mornings.
Pro Tip: If you pre-cook your bacon (or try our quick Air Fryer Bacon Recipe), you can have this recipe plated in less than 15 minutes.

Ingredients for Breakfast Tortillas
- Tortilla – use a large burrito-sized tortilla (about 10″ diameter)
- Bacon – I use 1 1/2 pieces of cooked bacon per tortilla. You can substitute with cooked sausage and if you don’t have time to cook the bacon, use your favorite deli meat.
- Egg – cook 1 scrambled egg per tortilla. Adding more eggs will make it difficult to close the tortilla.
- Avocado – you’ll mash half of an avocado with a fork. Avocado adds nice moisture to the tortilla wrap.
- Cheese – Mozzarella, cheddar, or shredded Mexican cheese all work great. I love a good cheese pull in my breakfast tortilla.

How to Make TikTok Breakfast Tortilla
- Cook the Bacon – Cut bacon strips in half and you can bake, saute or Air Fry Bacon until crispy. Bacon can be cooked ahead.
- Scramble an Egg – Crack an egg into a bowl and beat with a fork. Season lightly with salt and pepper then saute on a buttered skillet just until cooked through. (I use the same skillet to scramble the egg then sautee the folded tortilla – there’s no need to rinse the pan).
- Mash 1/2 avocado in a bowl with a fork and season with salt and pepper to add more flavor.
- Cut a slit into the side of the tortilla closest to you, cutting just up to the center.
- Arrange ingredients into 4 quadrants on the tortilla (Bottom right: Eggs, Top Right: Bacon, Top Left: Avocado, Bottom Left: shredded cheese).
- Fold tortilla – fold the bottom right quadrant up, then proceed to fold the quadrants over each other to form a triangle.
- Sautee – Heat a small non-stick skillet over medium heat and melt in some butter. Sautee the folded tortilla until golden brown and crispy on both sides, adding more butter to sautee the second side.

Pro Tip: Using a great non-stick skillet makes it easy to keep this a one-pan recipe. You can start with cooking the bacon, wipe down the skillet then scramble the egg and use the same skillet to saute the wrap.

Serve With
This breakfast tortilla wrap is a meal in itself and really doesn’t need much unless you want to make it saucier or spicier. These are our favorite toppings:
- Sour cream
- Homemade Salsa
- Hot Sauce
- Guacamole

hi natasha. what is the skillet you use? also do i need to use oil for this recipe?
Hi Emily! I linked the skillet in the blog notes, it is a HexClad pan (affiliate link), but you can use any non-stick skillet. Also, see the recipe card above for instructions. I used butter.
Hi Natasha
I follow a lot of your recipes and have tried them. My husband loves everything I’ve made. I noticed that you cooked in hexclad pans, how do you like them? I’m thinking about getting new pans what is your recommendation on these?
Hi Theresa! Thank you, I’m glad they have been enjoyed.
I love my HexClad pans! Highly recommend them. There is a science to learning how to use them but once you have that down, they are amazing. Their website is very helpful. My link for the HexClad pans is HERE.
I’d love to try this recipe but most cheese makes me sick. Is there another ingredient I could use in its place? Perhaps beans?
Hi Amanda! I don’t have another substitute to suggest but I’m sure it would work to experiment with.
Can I make these ahead of time and freeze them. I’m hosting thanksgiving and thought I could make a variety of these and freeze them and then cook on my Blackstone
Hi Beverly, I haven’t tried freezing but I think it would work to freeze. Although I would probably swap out avocado since that would get discolored. You could use another egg maybe. I would assemble them, wrap and freeze them before sauteeing in butter then thaw and sautee until golden brown and heated through.
Why couldn’t you just add the fresh avocado after you thaw!!!
These are my new breakfast fav. My son, Jaxon (9), was able to help make and assemble them easily; his first true cooking experience!! It won’t be the last time we make them together… Thank you for this. We are a big fan of your recipes and usually have 1-2 on our weekly menu! 😉
Aww, that’s great! So glad they were enjoyed! Thank you for the review.
What burner are you using? Mine never seems to get hot enough.
Hi Brenda, I do this over medium heat on the gas range but electric works too.
Do you know if you can freeze these because of the avocado? Will it turn brown?
Thank you
Hi Christine, I haven’t tried that but I think it would work to freeze, although I would probably swap out avocado since that would get discolored. You could use another egg maybe. I would assemble them, wrap and freeze them before sauteeing in butter then thaw and sautee until golden brown and heated through.
use caramelized onion instead. Freeze. then when ready, 1 min microwave to cook, then cast iron fry pan, to toast. No butter or oil needed!
AWESOME breakfast wrap, but I’ve cut carbs down on mine by using the Mission Carb Smart tortillas at only 5 net carbs per/wrap. Thus making my recipe: a total of 9.5 net carbs!
Hi Mia! Thank you for sharing. That is a great way to cut down on carbs and still tastes wonderful.
This looks great and I love your recipes. What can I use in place of the avocado?
Hi Lydia, sauteed onion or bell pepper (or both combined) would be so delicious!
I just made this for the 1st time and it was delicious. Natasha your recipes are always great. Thanks for the recipes!
God Bless you and your family.
Thank you for your lovely review and feedback, Lee! I’m so happy you enjoyed this breakfast wrap!
Hi loge this
Joe do you Freeze these if I switched out the avocado for fried potatoes?
Thanks
Hi Amber, I haven’t tried that but I think it would work to freeze, although I would probably swap out avocado since that would get discolored. You could use another egg maybe. I would assemble them, wrap and freeze them before sauteeing in butter then thaw and sautee until golden brown and heated through.
This is brilliant! Substituted the avocado for baby spinach leaves as that is what I had. Loved this.
I’m so happy you enjoyed that. Thank you for sharing that with me, Tracey!
Hi Saskia, you can remove or replace it. One of my readers mentioned using: “Sauteed onion or bell pepper (or both combined).”
Just made it this morning; on holidays in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Can’t get better-tasting avocado than here.
I bet this tastes even better on holiday! Thank you so much for sharing that with me.

Very filling and delicious!
All the good breakfast ingredients in one recipe, love it.
Thank you for your fantastic review, Julie!
Would these be okay to make the night before and microwave in the morning? My husband works at 4:30 AM so I never make him breakfast on work days and I want to pack these for his breakfast!
Hi Sandy, I haven’t tested that yet but I think that would work. If you try that, please share with us how it goes.
Are these freezable? Do you have a suggestion on what to replace the avocado with? I’m excited to try them. I love all your recipes!
Hi Marla, I haven’t tried that but I think it would work to freeze, although I would probably swap out avocado since that would get discolored. You could use another egg maybe. I would assemble them, wrap and freeze them before sauteeing in butter then thaw and sautee until golden brown and heated through.
Natasha, can your breakfast wrap tortillas be frozen? Love your recipes! Marcy Carter

Hi Natasha
Love the idea, a great day to start your morning.
I somehow have never got used to the idea of using avacado on anything….what else can you use instead.
Glad you loved it. I honestly haven’t tried anything els other than avocado, you can omit it from the recipe and it will still be good.
This did not sound this good to me but I love your recipes so I tried it. It was easy and delicious! Another home run, Natasha!
Thank you for your review, Dolores!
My kids loved this so much! Thank you for this, we are making them again tomorrow.
