This creamy Horseradish Sauce rivals the best Steakhouse horseradish I’ve tried in both Ruth’s Chris and the Cottonwood Grill. It is excellent paired with prime rib, steak or beef tenderloin.

Horseradish Sauce Recipe:
This horseradish cream sauce is so easy and will impress your dinner guests! It keeps well in the refrigerator for at least 2 weeks and only gets better as the flavors meld.
This sauce is creamy and balanced by the cider vinegar. It isn’t overly pungent and won’t mask the flavors of the excellent prime rib you’ve prepared. If you like your horseradish sauce a little more potent, add horseradish to taste.
What is Prepared Horseradish?
You can purchase jars labeled “prepared horseradish” in the refrigerated section of your grocery store.
If you have a fresh horseradish root growing in your yard, you can make homemade prepared horseradish in a food processor with some water, vinegar and salt but keep in mind homemade is twice as strong as store-bought so add it to taste.
Prepared horseradish is so versatile. We love it in crab salad, coleslaw and “Hron” (a Russian sauce with grated beets).
How to Make Horseradish Sauce:
It really doesn’t get any easier than this: combine all of the ingredients and stir!

Q: What is YOUR favorite way to enjoy Creamy Horseradish Sauce? I would love to hear from you in a comment below!
I made a pork loin with roasted veggies and wanted horseradish sauce. I came across your recipe and decided to give it a try. Excellent results. I loved it and will definitely be making this again and share it with my horseradish ❤️ loving friends and family. I can’t wait to try with beef. The combination of ingredients work extremely well together.
Sounds delicious! So glad you found this recipe. Thank you for the review, Carolyn.
Holy crap this is good! I burned, shredded and deleted all other horseradish recipes. It’s amazing the difference the vinegar makes. My go to from now on. Thank you
So glad you enjoy this recipe, Daniel!
I made this at Christmas as we made a standing rib roast and it was great on the meat. I had a bunch left over and used it as a dip for some plain regular potato chips and it was amazing as a dip.
Nice, thanks a lot for sharing that! So good to hear that you enjoyed this dip recipe!
I have always put sour cream and horseradish on my baked potato..
This makes it so much better!
Sounds great too, Lyn. Thank you for sharing that info with us!
Awesome idea! I made way too much of this delightful sauce and baked potatoes would be perfect.
Really great added a little more horseradish and some shallots tops as that’s all I had and growing shallots in my garden
Need to switch quantities of Mayo and Sour Cream, add extra horseradish. Guess for an ingredient list it’s okay, proportions not even close.
Delicious meld of flavors! We eat it as an alternative to ketchup on top of meatloaf. We don’t put it in until serving as the contrast of hot and cold is 😋
Thank you!
You’re welcome! Sounds good.
Spot on, thanks! I made it for corned beef and cabbage—delicious! I didn’t have any sour cream so I substituted plain greek yogurt, it was perfect!
Excellent! Thank you for sharing.
Very good!!! Perfect with corned beef and cabbage. Happy Saint Patrick’s Day!
Thank you and same to you, Jen!
We made your horseradish sauce receipe and everybody loved it to put on the prime rib roast.
Great to hear that, Robert. Glad it was a hit!
I will serve it with oven baked potato wedges. I love to watch you cook. Your facial expressions are awesome!
Thank you for watching my videos, Deb! I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
Kia ora, my go to recipe is 3tbsp cream cheese & 1tbsp horse radish sauce. For a milder flavor increase the cream cheese (or my favourite) kick a… increase horse radish
Spread straight on to toasted bagel & top with sliced smoked salmon & oak lettuce
Thank you so much for sharing that with us!
Absolutely the best horseradish sauce I have ever tried ! Number one in my book :))
Thanks a lot for the awesome feedback, Pam!
So quick & simple to make and delicious with a beef dip or other beef dishes!

That’s just awesome! Thank you for sharing your wonderful review, Marie!
Hi Natasha, I am planning to make this for Christmas and I was wondering if it can be prepared ahead of time and frozen?
I haven’t tried freezing this to advise. I worry it will separate when thawed. If you experiment, let me know how you liked the recipe.
It’s wonderful! Daughter eats it with everything, including dipping chips, bacon in it. Sometimes I sub dill weed, depending on her cravings.
That is the best when kids love what we moms make. That’s so great!
