These Air Fryer Pork Chops are a fool-proof way to make juicy and tender pork chops. My air fryer keeps them juicy inside while giving them a nicely browned crust on the outside. No more dry or tough pork chops and they cook in less than 15 minutes for the perfect weeknight dinner.

Easy Air Fryer Pork Chops Recipe

When I first got an Air Fryer, this Air Fryer Pork Chops recipe was one of the first things I cooked. Pork Chops have always been some of my favorite pork dinners because they’re leaner and cheaper cuts of meat with crowd-pleasing flavor. But pork chops can be finicky and easily overcooked.

I wanted something fool-proof and easier for those hectic nights. This recipe always comes out perfectly juicy with a yummy crust from the homemade dry rub. Whip up some Creamy Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Broccoli, and you have a satisfying meal in no time!

I know you’ll love cooking pork chops in the air fryer since it’s faster, easier, and tastier! An air fryer is a great option for cooking all of your favorite fried recipes without the extra grease and it’s much faster than baking. We love air fryer recipes from Air Fryer Chicken Wings to Air Fryer Bacon and now these pork chops!

Ingredients for Air Fryer Pork Chops

My easy Air Fryer Pork Chops recipe makes a succulent, tasty dish using just the pork chops and a combination of my favorite seasonings most of which you probably already have in your cabinet.

  • Pork Chops – We use 1/2″ boneless pork chops for ease and price, but you can use bone-in pork chops if you prefer (check out my note below about adjusting the cooking time for thickness and bone-in). When buying, look for a pink color with specs of white throughout. Those white specs are fat that will keep the meat tender and flavorful when cooking.
  • Best Seasoning for Pork Chops – salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and Italian seasoning. This is my go-to seasoning, but the mild taste of pork chops means nearly any seasoning will work. You can substitute your favorite seasoning or a pre-made mix, like steak seasoning, all-purpose, taco seasoning, or even Old Bay. For a kick, add a few red pepper flakes.

Pro Tip:

To substitute bone-in pork chops or thick-cut pork chops, add 2-3 minutes of cooking time for the bone and add an extra minute if the chops are thicker.

How to Make Air Fryer Pork Chops

It doesn’t get any easier than this Air Fryer Pork Chops recipe. Mix the spices, season the meat, and Air Fry. The Air Frying is quick and leaves your food crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

  • Preheat the air fryer for about 5 minutes to reach 380°F. It’s not always necessary to preheat the air fryer, but this step is important to get that delicious crust on the meat.
  • Spray oil on both sides of the pork chop to hold onto the seasoning and make a better crust. (You can skip this step if you prefer to go without the oil)
  • Season the pork chops on all sides by combining the seasoning ingredients in a small bowl and then rubbing the mix over each side of the pork chop.
  • Cook the pork chops in the basket of the air fryer for 10-15 minutes, being sure to flip them halfway. Parchment paper is optional, but if you’re going to use it, make sure perforated for air to circulate. You can make your own by cutting a sheet of parchment paper and punching holes with a hole puncher.

Natasha’s Pro Tip:

If you are using a toaster oven-style air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time. These tend to cook foods faster than a basket-style air fryer. If using a toaster oven-style, lower the temperature to about 350°F and reduce the time by a minute or two.

How do you know when Air Fryer Pork Chops are done?

Be careful not to overcook the pork chops, or they will become chewy and dry. One of our favorite tools for fail-proof meats is an instant-read thermometer. The pork chops’ internal temperature should read 145°F (according to the USDA) in the thickest part of the chop. Be sure to let the pork chop rest for a few minutes after cooking to help redistribute juices and finish cooking.

“Made these for dinner tonight, and wow are they good! I seasoned the chops this morning and let them sit in the fridge all day. I had a package of 5, so I doubled the spices and this worked beautifully. Served with sautéed fresh, garlic green beans for a nearly carb-free dinner. Will definitely be keeping this meal in our regular rotation! Thank you, Natasha! “ – Velva ★★★★★

  • Make-Ahead: prep the pork chops by seasoning them in the morning or even a day ahead, cover and refrigerate until ready to air fry.
  • To Refrigerate: once cooled, store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
  • Freezing: cool completely, then wrap each pork chop individually in freezer paper or plastic wrap. Freeze in an airtight container up to 3 months. Thaw in the fridge overnight.
  • To Reheat: Put pork chop in the air fryer at 350°F until heated through.

Hi! I normally love all your recipes and am so grateful for your website! However, my meat was tough and dry. Next time i will try to brine my meat so tenderize it before air frying it

Hi Arya, overcooking is often the culprit of dry or tough pork chops and it is easy to overcook in an air fryer, especially if the pork chops are thinner. I suggest checking don’t the pork chops sooner.

Hi Lyn, that would work in a conventional oven at the same temperature, but I would definitely bake longer or until the internal temperature reaches 145˚F.

Natasha, can your recipes be adaptable to an Emeril Lagasse 360 XL AirFryer? I have a new one and trying to learn how to use it. His cookbook is great, but evasive when trying to make certain dishes and on some recipes, like yours, I am not sure if the setting should be put on AirFry, Bake, Rotisserie etc. Still learning! However, I absolutely love your recipes and wanted to use them in my AirFryer. Thanks!

Hi Medea, thank you for the suggestion. We write all of our temperatures in Farenheight to try to eliminate confusion or mix-ups. A good reference to calculate Celcius is: (32°F − 32) × 5/9 = 0°C , so 380˚F-32 x5/9 = 193˚C
