Why We’re Crazy about this Mango Salsa:
There’s something irresistible about sweet juicy mangos in salsa. The fresh mango flavor carries you to your favorite tropical destination with every bite. Who doesn’t want to feel like they are on vacation eating salsa? When mangos are in season, this is on our regular rotation and always disappears fast.
5 Ingredient Mango Salsa:
Fresh Mango Salsa has just 5 ingredients and takes 5 minutes to prepare!
- Mango: for the perfect fresh mango, look for one that is plump and round, slightly soft but not mushy
- Avocado: Adds a delicious creaminess to the salsa
- Red Onion: diced red onions provide mild flavor and add color to this fresh salsa
- Cilantro: our go-to fresh herb for salsa
- Lime Juice: freshly squeezed from the lime is best, if needed substitute fresh lemon juice
If you Love Spicy Salsa:
If you prefer to add some heat to this mango avocado salsa, you can toss in some finely chopped fresh or canned jalapeños. We love spicy salsas, so I often sneak in hot peppers and have even been known to add super spicy serrano peppers.
How to Make Mango Salsa:
- In a medium bowl, combine diced mango, avocado, finely chopped red onion, and chopped cilantro.
- Squeeze fresh lime juice (we love this hand juicer) over the top of diced ingredients and add salt and pepper to taste. Toss gently to combine then serve.
Make Ahead Tip: If not serving right away, cover with plastic wrap directly over the surface and refrigerate.

Dear Natasha, I made 3 recipes of yours today. This mango avocado salsa, the peach salsa and the berry crumble cake. All delicious, thank you so much for sharing these recipes.
Yay, that is fantastic! I’m happy to hear that you’re enjoying my recipes. Ruth.
Natasha, love all your recipes. Want to try this one but do not like cilantro. Any substitution you could suggrpest?
Hi Marcia, There are many herbs you can use in place of cilantro, but the best substitutes for cilantro in salsa are parsley, mint, basil, chives, green onions, dill, or even carrot greens.
very good! we used lemon instead and it turned out awesome.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
This salsa was good and easy to make. I think I’ll add some jalapeno next time for a nice kick. Goes well with broiled salmon too.
i add fresh strawberries. Try it
Nice, how did it go? Did you like it?
Several weeks back I could not find fresh mangos at our supermarket (go figure…I live in Florida). Not to be defeated, I substituted fresh peaches. Was delicious.
Oh! That’s a great idea! I’m so glad to hear it worked out with peaches!
Great recipe. I used frozen mango. Super easy and delicious.
Thank you, Melissa. I’m so glad you liked it!
Absolutely loved this recipe! It is now in our go to list. We put it over carne asada and it was all amazing together! I didn’t measure out the lime. I just squeezed a whole lime into it.
I would put a picture but I do not see how to add it.

I could eat a whole bowlful for a snack. My fishmonger suggested adding some finely diced jalapeño and/or finely diced red pepper. Try a variation to your taste. Serve with fresh halibut.
Sounds delicious!
I’ve always loved mango salsa but usually purchase it. This recipe is over the top amazing. I can’t believe how much better it tastes.

I could eat this by the spoonfuls! It’s refreshing & so tasty!!
That’s so awesome! Thank you for sharing that great review with me Natalie!
I know this may seem silly but how do you know when the mango is fully ripe. I’ve had a few and they are hard
Hi Linda, we like to give it a little squeeze at the store. It will give slightly indicating a softer flesh. If it is rock hard on the outside it will not be ready for a few days.
Thank you! SO GOOD! I added diced red bell pepper too
I’m so happy to hear that! Thank you for sharing your great review!

Really nice recipe. I will try it today
Please let me know what you think Lucy!
Natasha, what can I use instead of cilantro. I can’t stand it, nether my kids.
Hi Inna, the closest thing would be parsley – I would suggest finely chopping and adding it to taste. It will give it a more Italian character, but I do think it will still work fine 🙂
We host cooking classes in our kitchen showroom and this would make for a very colorful demonstration recipe for future classes. Thank you.
You are welcome Jim 😀.
We loved this one! Ate the whole bowl right away.
Yay!! That’s what I love to hear! 🙂
We adore mango, need to try!

Within good time something will definitely give meantime gotta get my ingredients soon for this salsa mmmm
Beautiful rainbow of food and healthy! What more could one ask for =) Good luck house hunting! It’s a fun activity, isn’t it….even when you don’t need a house. We’ve been guilty of looking at houses on neighboring streets just to see what they go for and to see the inside of their homes!
Yes I totally agree! When I was a realtor, my husband and I enjoyed touring homes in our free time (before children came into the pictures, now I’m not sure what free time really means anymore! lol). Thanks Laura 🙂
oh, you sold your house ??? I was watching one of your recipes, and I was like, I don’t recall that kitchen from your house (unless you did a huge remodeling).
Are you looking for bigger or smaller house? or you’re looking for bigger kitchen?
ok anyway back to recipe, did you try adding grape tomatoes to this salsa? did it tasted as good as without it?
Hi :). Yes we sold our house and we are living with my parents until we find the right home :). We would like a nicer kitchen and one that is better suited for video recording than our old one. It’s definitely a treat to work in my Mom’s kitchen :). I don’t think this salsa would be good with tomatoes. I haven’t tried adding them but I don’t think the flavors of tomato and avocado would work very well together.
I think other than not caring for the combination of tomatoes and avocados, I think it would make the dip tooo wet and slithery. Just thinkin’ abf
