Favorites
For those of you who are new to this site and are feeling a little overwhelmed, I thought I’d start a list of my absolute favorite recipes – those that I recommend you try first. And BTW, let me know what your favorites are!!
This list will probably change over time as I post more recipes and discover new favorites! First, I thought it only appropriate to add a random photo of my sisters and I enjoying the Fish Tacos from our Cookbook photoshoot.

Hi! Brand new to your site and I am very excited to make some of your recipes!!! I’m not very comfortable in the kitchen but these recipes feel manageable to me! One question about the creamy sweet potato coconut soup: would it be ok to omit the bacon or would I need to substitute it for something else?
Hi Kim, we sometimes make the soup without bacon and it still works well 🙂
Love love love your creamy cauliflower potato soup with shrimp. But honestly love everything that has shrimp in it, however this soup is so far my favorite dish to make and eat of course. Thank you!
Alina, you are very welcome 😁. Looks like you have a new favorite soup on the menu.
I really like your recipes! They are very good, easy to make and the ingredients are easy to find here. 10/10 🙂
Patrick, I’m so inspired reading your review. Thank you!

Thank you so much for that awesome feedback!
Hey, Natasha! Your recipes are awesome!(: Just wanted to ask if you’ve heard of a cake called Smetannik? It’s delicious. Maybe you’d have a recipe for it?
I have heard of it but I don’t have a recipe for it yet. I will put it on my to-do list 🙂 Thank you for the suggestion and the compliment!
Have you tried peanut butter noodles? It may sound a little bit weird, but It’s really good!
I haven’t tried that! Is it a homemade recipe or do you buy them somewhere?
It’s a homemade recipe.
Thank you for sharing your recipes. I married a Ukrainian 5 1/2 years ago. My family is American, and we have never had a foreigner come into our family until my husband. Needless to say, I don’t know how to cook like his mama. Bless his heart, I know he misses the food so much. I already tried one dish without telling him it was your Ukrainian recipe, he went on and on how he liked dinner so much. I finally told him it was because it was Ukrainian. He was so happy I was trying to make dishes he likes. Thank you again for sharing your families culture.
That is such a sweet story. I’m all smiles reading it :). Thank you for sharing that withe me!
Natashenka, I just found your blog, wonderful, thank you!
Do you have a good recipe of kiev cutlet. We were in Moscow last year, stayed in the Savoy hotel, I ordered one for my daughter and it was out of the world!

Hi Natasha,
thanks for giving us a place to start. I was given your cupcake frosting recipe by a friend and couldn’t help but click around some! I can’t wait to try some of your other recipes!
I do have a question though. My boyfriend and I are doing dates-around-the world this year…Once a month we pick a country and either go to a restaurant or I try to make a traditional dish…after finding your blog, I’m tempted to try something Ukranian or Russian. Do you have any recommendations of what we should try? Perhaps a main dish and a dessert. Easier is better, but any recommendation is welcome.
Thanks!
What an awesome and fun thing to do; dates around the world! I love it. Maybe my hubby and I should do the same 😉 You might try these: https://natashaskitchen.com/2013/08/21/cucumber-and-tomato-salad-recipe/, https://natashaskitchen.com/2014/12/04/apple-sharlotka-recipe-russian-apple-cake/ or https://natashaskitchen.com/2010/01/11/russian-tea-cakes-recipe/

Please post recipe for vareniki with sour cherries.
I have a recipe for that posted with sweet cherries. You probably will need a little more sugar on the inside if you use sour cherries.
Hi Natasha, I wanted to request if you could give the recipe for artichoke dip?
I have 3 artichoke dips here. My favorite is this one.
Want to print a recipe, can you tell me how I can do that. Keep seeing things that look good but can’t get recipes.
HI Patricia. At the bottom of every recipe, there is a print friendly recipe that is outlined in a dashed line. Right beneath the small picture on the right, there is a “print” button. 🙂
Welcome to the site Patricia :). The best way to print the recipe, is to scroll down just below the post where you will find print friendly instructions with a print button. Let me know if that helps.
